Fun Fact: Do you know this area, where MoMo’s Kuala Lumpur is situated, is listed as one of the 52 places to visit in 2020 by The New York Times? So, I decided to book a one night stay here to explore this district. Upon arrival at KLIA Terminal 2 at 1pm, I took an express train to KL Sentral Station. It is a 15 mins Grab ride which costs RM12 to get to the hotel. This 99-rooms hotel was opened in Dec 2019. The building is not very visible from far. But as you walk slowly towards the entrance of the hotel, you will immediately feel the Instagrammable vibes. The check in was efficient and fuss-free. A key card is required at the lift in order to gain access to the room. I was accommodated in Room No. 403 (Crashpad - City View) which offered an excellent view of the KL cityscape, with KL Tower in the background. The minimalistic rooms were designed by Sydney-based design studio, Akin Atelier. I felt cosy and comfortable even though the room is small at 14.5 square metres. The room space is creatively designed, whereby I can place my belongings under the Tatami-style raised platform bed. There is also an electronic safe underneath it. A large full length mirror is available on the bathroom door. Whilst the majority of my stays in budget properties offered a mediocre showering experience, I found it to be great here. The bath towels are thick and fluffy, and the shower offered great water pressure. I also love their Jeanie’s Botanical bespoke toiletries which elevated the showering experience. The Wi-Fi connectivity in the room is good. There is limited Cable TV channels, of which Cinemax is offered. If you are feeling bored, tap on the TV remote and switch to YouTube. I had read reviews of guests who feedback of noise in the room during their stay. Being situated at the roadside, there is an occasional traffic noise, but it did not bother me. Sometimes, having a little ambient noise is better than an eerily quiet room. I am appreciative the hotel took the initiative to offer ear plugs to guests should they feel uncomfortable with the noise. Chow Kit is a district of Kuala Lumpur, which is not far from the Golden Triangle area and the Petronas Twin Towers. Although it has a reputation for being a red light district, I never felt unsafe roaming here. While it was a short one night stay, I managed to explore Chow Kit Market, the largest wet market in Kuala Lumpur. Nearby, there is a large shopping mall, Quill City, which has retail and dining outlets. Dining options are quite limited, though I wished I could have the opportunity to explore and discover more eateries during my one night stay here. Although the hotel has its own eatery, I preferred local fare. I enjoyed the delicious Chilli Pan Mee at Restoran Kin Kin. Another hidden gem is Little Rara Chow Kit, located opposite the hotel. They serve really yummy Thai cuisine! Alternatively, you can head to the restaurant located next door, in The Chow Kit Hotel. This is the sister property of MoMo’s Kuala Lumpur, both which are managed by the Ormond Group. Travelling to the various parts of Kuala Lumpur city is convenient, apart from the heavy traffic during the evening. Getting to places like Petaling Street, Pudu and Bukit Bintang from the hotel costs an average RM9 during the off-peak periods. To sum it up, MoMo’s Kuala Lumpur is a designer social hotel targeted at millennials who enjoy staying in a fun and quirky place. This is a smart hotel for those with a small budget. Stay Tips: ☞ Get a room with a view of the KL Tower and monorails zooming by. ☞ There are no pick up and drop off points at the hotel. I would recommend selecting The Chow Kit Hotel (Located next to MoMo’s Kuala Lumpur) when ordering a ride via ride hailing services. If you find my review helpful in the selection of your hotel stay, please give it a Thumbs Up!

Hotel's Favourite
Very chill vibes hotel in Chowkit! We stayed at a room with city view and you can see the KL tower and KL rail right in front of us. We literally had the best sleep at Momo's. Their bed and pillows were the best! The in house shampoo and body wash smell sooo good too. Very clean hostel and the front desk staff are all nice. Aiman even gave us a complimentary coffee before our check out. Jei Pei and Alisya was very acommodating and nice! They provided genuine customer service. The location is at the heart of Chowkit. You can order food from their sister hotel, The Chowkit Ormond (very nice vibes too). Walking didtance from Quill Mall, Sogo KL and other food establishments. You won't have a hard time booking Grab from this area. 20-25 min walk to Petronas Twin Towers. 20 min Grab ride from Berjaya Timesquare Imbi. As first time travellers to KL, Momo's made it easy and worthwile for us. Thank you so much! We will definitely come back and invite friends and family to #StayAtMomos 💗

Pros : The location is best, near the center and near main street and public transport. The hotel's room and public space ambience and vibes are on the cozy and chillin' summer style. The room is small, no window but so clean and arrange so good so it doesnt give you cramped feeling. The bed, pillows is fluffy. Really love the hot water and soap..any soap give you different nice fragrance to it. The foods is good. The staff was very nice, friendly and really helpfull, we thank you for the complimentary early check in (we came at 9.30 am straight from the airport only want to leave our bags and later come back but the nice reception lady help to process and give us room for us !!), also thank you for the complimentary breakfast, which is also great..!. Cons : The room's soundproof could be better so that our monkeying cannot be heard :). The partition to separate the shower area to the rest of the bathroom is best needed so the water is not splash around and wet during our shower. Overall 10/10 experience for us. Thank you for having us MoMo's.

I've stayed in MoMo's a couple of times and I guess it's safe to say that it has indeed become my comfort zone. The few things I love about the room are the comfy beds! And not to forget, their bath wash selections. So therapeutic! The scent lingers. Will definitely be back again!

It is a very nice and comfy hotel and the price is reasonable, and I feel very warmth there. It has a nice bar and the food is quite good too. The road noice is acceptable because there’s a wooden “shade” there. When you close it, I personally think that it is pretty okay. The location is good too.
