I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Summer View. This was my first visit to KL. My room was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. I could depend on them to help me get taxies or suggest places to visit. The hotel is located in a neighbourhood bustling with great inexpensive restaurants. Make sure you try the Nasi Lemek Royale stand around the corner and have a massage at the Blind Massage clinic. The hotel was also close to the major Sentral train station and the NuSentral mall. I would like to especially thank Laka, Ben and Alan on the front desk and Dipendra the security guard who always opened the door, chased after me with an umbrella during a rain storm and watched out for my taxies. I will certainly stay here again.

Great service from the reception.
The room was cleaned and tidy.
Reasonable price for the room with king size bed.
Sound proof? At least I didn't hear much noise from the other room.
Great view, the room assigned to me was in a great position and had a great view, not blocked by any building.

Unfortunately, personally think that the pillow was a little bit too soft and unable to have so much sleep at the night.

Booked on Agoda. Approx USD 30 a night, mid-week.

Very good location. Less than 10 mins walk from KL Sentral Station and mall, slightly away from the busiest/noisiest streets. Room on upper floor was quiet.

Building and rooms appear to be 20+ years old, nevertheless clean and functional. Room and bathroom not very small nor very big, but adequate for 1-2 people for a short stay. Not fancy.

Shower only, no bath. Kettle and safe provided. No fridge. Free wifi adequate.

Reception polite and efficient. MYR 10 tax per night that was charged at reception but I didn't see it on Agoda. MYR 100 refundable deposit charged at reception.

Overall a very comfortable and convenient hotel when visiting KL on a short trip.

Very good room at reasonable rate. Hotels closer for similar price were not as good. Still within walking distance of Sentral mall and trains. Could leave bags there before check in and after which was helpful.

Hotel Summer View is located in the Brickfields area of Kuala Lumpur, near both the monorail, and the KL Sentral train stations. As you exit the hotel, you can turn left and walk for one block to get to the Tun Sambanthan monorail station, or turn right and walk for two short blocks to get to KL Sentral. The popular Bukit Bintang district is only four stops by monorail, and the Times Square shopping mall is only three stops (both cost 1.6 ringgit one way). Lake gardens Park is only about a 15 minute walk. More on this below.

We originally chose the Summer View for its proximity to KL Sentral station, because we were only staying for one night before heading south. Air Asia has a bus service from the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) to KL Sentral, and we wanted to get to our hotel quickly from there. The cost was a little high compared to cheap hotels in Bukit Bintang, so we thought we would pick somewhere else for the last four days of our trip. However, after staying at the hotel for a night, and after a scouting trip to Bukit Bintang, we decided that the Summer View was well worth the slightly higher cost. We liked the Brickfields neighborhood better because it seemed less frenetic, and we didn't have to run a gauntlet of people trying to draw us in to their stores and restaurants. There is a 7-11 just around the corner, several street vendors selling various foods next to the hotel, as well as a large corner coffee shop just one block away, and a couple of low-priced Indian restaurants within a block or so. We had the option each day of eating near the hotel, or heading off to some other part of town to get a meal. Both were easy to do.

The hotel itself is very clean. Our rooms for the two stays were on the tenth floor, and had a great view of the city. The room was about 5 meters by 5 meters in size. It had a safety box, water boiler, cable TV, good AC, and a comfortable bed. There is a small built-in writing table with a single chair. The TV only has about 12 channels, but several are in English, including BBC World and FOX Movies. The bathroom has a separate shower but no tub. Towels, shampoo, soap, and two smallish bottles of water are provided each day. There is no refrigerator in the room. Your stay comes with a buffet breakfast. Mainstays appear to be fried rice, rice soup, fried eggs, three types of fruit (papaya, pineapple, and watermelon), toast, and beans. There are usually 6-8 local dishes as well, but these sometimes vary by day. Coffee, tea, and juice are also available.

The hotel has a surprisingly large staff, including a doorman, lobby security person, and two or more desk attendants. It seems very secure. There is a taxi stop on the street out front. We had an incident one night in which a guest was letting her children run around the halls at 10 PM shouting and squealing as they raced up and down the hall. We asked them to stop, but a few minutes later, they were at it again. We called the front desk, and in less than three minutes someone was there asking the kids to return to their room. A pretty good response time. The staff are a bit formal, but they are attentive and seem very competent. We have no complaints about the service or the two stays. If the price had been a bit lower, say 120-130 ringgit, I probably would have given it five stars.

If you arrive from the Air Asia LCCT terminal by the Skybus, it will stop underneath the KL Sentral train station on the south side of the station. To get to the hotel, exit the bus and turn to your right. You need to walk for perhaps 200 meters (in the direction your bus was pointed) until the road takes you out from under the station. The road will then curve out to a busy street. Stay on the left side and wait for traffic to clear or the crossing signal to turn green, then cross the street and keep going south. You should be able to see the 10 floor, yellow Hotel Summer View a couple of blocks ahead. It is just past the YMCA and a 7-11. This shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes, depending on how fast you walk and how much luggage you have. If coming by cab, say you want to go to Brickfields, and mention the YMCA. Some cab drivers know where the Y is located, and all of them should know Brickfields.

One great thing about staying in Brickfields is the relatively close proximity to Lake Gardens Park. The park is a nice little oasis in the city with a small manmade lake, some natural areas around the margins, and garden areas elsewhere. There are also several museums, the world's largest aviary, and a butterfly park to occupy your time. Google Maps originally suggested it would take about 25 minutes to walk there, but we found a way to do it in 15 or so. From the hotel entrance, turn right and walk the two blocks to KL Sentral. Take an escalator into the station and follow signs to the taxis outside. From there, you should see the entrance to the Hilton and La Meridien Hotel car park. Enter the car park and pass through it. Veer left until you see the car park exit. A highway off-ramp passes this exit and traffic comes from the right. This off ramp has a narrow sidewalk on both sides. It is only about 30 cm wide, but I have seen several people use it. Turn right and step onto this sidewalk. Continue for maybe 30 meters until the sidewalk ends. When traffic is clear, cross the one lane to your right, then turn left when you reach the wider sidewalk. You will walk for maybe 100 meters across an overpass until you see a metal staircase leading down with a sign above for the motorists about the museum and planetarium. Climb down the stairs, continue a few steps beyond, then cross the street to your left. There is currently some construction going on on the other side if the road, but if you keep walking between the two high metal construction fences, you will soon see a tunnel that leads into the park.

This budget hotel is located only 5 - 10 minutes walk to KL Sentral station and only less than 5 minutes walk to Monorail station. Reception staffs and security guards are helpful and friendly. The room is in good size and condition with the plus benefit of free WiFi and in-room deposit box.

Not so huge selection of ABF but it was good enough to keep us going in the morning. Only one down point that the restaurant staff didn't pay much attention to the guests.

Not recommended due to safety and security concerns. I accidentally left my iPad in the room and it got stolen. Lesson learned to never forget valuables in the hotel safe. For Hotel Summerview, caught in their CCTV, the housekeeper was last person in the room and she was the clear lone suspect. The hotel did not do sufficient efforts to interrogate housekeeper. When I asked security manager and front desk reception for hotel management or owner name, they would not give it to me. Makes we wonder if they are trying to cover what took place. Though location is good, safety comes first and after incident I would not trust hotel staff on safety and security.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Stay was very comfortable with good rooms. They provide complimentary breakfast. Their check in timings is noon so if you are checking in earlier be ready to pay 80RM extra.

Hotel is very near to KL sentral which connects you to most of the tourist attractions. From airport you can take a bus to KL sentral which will cost you 11RM only. From KL sentral hotel is hardly 5 minutes walk. In KL sentral you have Mcd, KFC, Burger king etc.

You get trains (MRT, LRT) from KL sentral to Batu caves, KLCC aquaria, Petronas tower. For KL tower is there no direct trains from hotel.

Just use hotel wifi and use google maps before your journey itl tell you which train to take, which bus to take and so on. As the public transport is very good i suggest not to waste money on taxis which is very horrible in KL. Taxi guys will rob your money like anything so beware of them. I have attached screenshot on how to use google maps and visit your destination. Trains will hardly cost you 4RM to 5RM. But if you take taxis for example to batu caves you will have to spend 40RM minimum.

Overall hotel summer view is very good place to stay. All the best for your journey :-)

Note: KLCC aquaria and Petronas tower are in the same place.

This hotel is 5 minute walk from sentral station ( and it's huge shopping mall) easy to find. Very clean, staff all friendly . We're happy to hold bags during day for free, breakfast buffet varied and generous included in a very cheap rate especially for KL.

This inexpensive hotel is great value and it couldn't be much closer to sentral station. We easily walked with our roll along cases from the railway to the hotel and back via the shopping mal. Most of that walk is in an air conditioned mal, a great benefit in the heart of KL. Rooms are a little tired and bathroom dated but the staff are helpful and there's a good choice buffet breakfast. We stayed on the 5th floor which was quiet enough but i suspect lower floors could be subject to some traffic noise. Overall super value and comfortable.

This is perfect location so you can have easy access to the public transportation in Kuala Lumpur because it is a walking distance to KL Sentral. Hotel is nice and has very approachable and friendly staff. I suggest you book a bigger room if you want more space. Though when we booked here with my family, we booked a deluxe room and we fit it 1 queen bed. We did not use the extra bed. We are 3 adults. The hotel price rate is reasonable. :)

Just reached Mono rail station and use nearby escalator to reach right hand side of the road. Walk straight for 75 meters and turn right. You can see it on left side of the road. You need to cross road again to reach it.

You can get the 'KLIA Ekspress' train from the airport direct to 'sentral' station for about 60 ringgit and in about 30 mins. From there the hotel is only a 5 minute walk and very easy. You can actually see the top of the hotel from the station exit that I came out of.
