The room was big, and breakfast was great! The room was not as clean as I had hoped and could had been better stocked for a 3 day stay. Location was close to a lot of night life and within walking distance to a yummy food market. The front desk helped arrange taxis for us.

Kuala Lumpur is a wonderful city but it is important that you book a room on a quiet street. Ramada is in a noisy, late night party place and the music is exceedingly loud. The breakfast was good enough but because it was a short 3 day stay we did not request for a change of room because the staff always had a reason why it could not be done.

SECURITY RISK: myself and a group of fellow travelers had to check out at short notice after a major security incident. I would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances - in particular for a single traveler or those traveling with children.

***

There are several security risks at this property from un-lockable doors between inter-connected rooms, to locks on the front door not functioning, to slippery tiling in the bathrooms & uneven floors between the bathroom and the bedroom that present a major tripping hazard, and fixtures in the bathroom such as the toilet paper holder that cut hands rather than dispense paper.

The bigger issue: in the larger rooms (1 & 2 bedroom rooms) there are inter-connecting doors between almost every room and the room next to it. Unlike other properties these inter-connecting doors CANNOT be locked. If a previous guest or a staff member has not closed the door properly from the inside then anyone on the other side can easily gain access to your room. All of my traveling companions noticed realized this without consulting with each other, and the realization resulted in everyone barricading their rooms by moving furniture to prevent the inter-connecting doors from opening. This is a major security flaw and needs to be quickly addressed.

Another major concern is internet speed & bandwidth. With many properties still charging for internet access I can see the benefits of choosing a property where it is included 'free', but it means absolutely nothing if you cannot get even basic access to the internet, e.g. connecting even to basic services such as Google literally takes several minutes and any thought of a business traveler working in their room through LAN or anywhere on site through wifi is impossible given the low bandwidth of the internet. For the 2 days that myself and my group were at this hotel none of us were able to connect to our email at all during our stay.

The Best Western Dua Sentral presents some of the most egregious safety and security issues I have ever seen at a hotel. Frankly, budget should not be a factor when considering safety and security. This is a hotel that should quickly be removed from all travelers' itineraries and alternate properties sought. In KL you have plenty of quality options at more than reasonable prices and until the Best Western Premier Dua Sentral addresses and fixes the myriad security and safety risks this hotel should be avoided at all costs.

Dear Sir/ Madam, Greetings from BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral! Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Your opinion matters the most to us as this will assist us in improving / upgrading our services. We are sincerely disappointed that we did not meet your expectations throughout your stay. Hotel cancelled at last minute, Just about to fly out of the country. Received an email informing me the following....
"The hotel informed us that they will be having a trial run during the month of June 2012 and is unable to accommodate you. This is to ensure that every room is being inspected and passed their BEST WESTERN International standards set which in return will contribute to a comfortable and memorable stay." Talked to the booking agent & they informed me the hotel was overbooked.
The hotel has been booked since the Wed 25/04/2012 12:58 PM, Now only being told about this a few days before I leave. Want to let others know about the way the hotel has dealt with me so others don’t fall into the same trap . To be fair they did offer another hotel at a different location however from the reviews on Trip advisor people didn’t write flattering reviews.

Hope this information helps others.
Not happy as you can tell.

I stayed Dua Sentral Suites for 3 nights on 12,13 and 14 March 2017. Dua Sentral Suites was a former hotel known as Ramada Hotel. Ramada Hotel was a decent 3 star hotel in 2015 but terrible now it has been changed managements and been rebranded as Dua Sentral Suites.

Dua Sentral Suites is nothing like what is shown in the photo.

1.Dark lobby, unmanned makeshift reception, unprofessional staff
There is a makeshift reception by the entrance that you could miss if you arrived at night. There is no light or air-conditioning in the lobby. The reception staff is poorly trained and I believe she is not even a full time staff. I was really uneasy of handing her my RM200 cash deposit.

2. No WIFI connectivity in the room
I was given room 2216 on level 22. There is no wifi connectivity and signal at all for all of my three nights stay at Dua Sentral Suites. It is most frustrating. When I told the reception that there is no wifi connectivity in my room, she responded that level 22 is too high for good connectivity and it is too bad. She also added that since my room is cheap, I have been assigned the higher floors. This level of customer service is really unacceptable. Even in the lobby, there is no wifi connectivity.

3.No telephone in the room
There is no way to contact the reception from your room because there is no telephone in the room.

4.Reception was closed until 8.45am on the date that I checked out on 15 March 2017. I waited for the reception to open from 8am to 8.45am to check out and I was almost late for the my flight at 10.55am. When the receptionist finally turned up, he did not apologize and instead blamed me for not asking them at the start of my stay about early check out.

5.Poor location
The location is very near to KL Sentral but almost none of taxi drivers knew how to get to this former Ramada Hotel-turned-Dua Sentral Suites because it is poorly signposted and it is very easy to miss the entrance which is off a busy road even in the daylight. I spent RM30 on a single trip taxi ride from KL Sentral to Dua Sentral Suites because the taxi went round and round getting lost.

6.No food services
There is no room service, cafes or restaurants on site. In fact, the location does not allow you to ‘walk out’ for a meal. You will need to take a taxi to a nearby mall. In fact, even food delivery was challenging as the delivery man usually cannot find the establishment.

Dua Sentral Suites should not be allowed to remain in operations. Clearly the management is facing financial and operation difficulties in keeping the apartment running properly. They need to sort out their finance, operational issue. This establishment should be taken off Hotels.com entirely as it is a hazard to tourists and visitors. Hotels.com should remove this advertisement and re-instate it only after it has proven itself to be a legitimate and decent accommodation service provider.

At first I chose this hotel due to its central location within the city and because of the fairly good reviews from this website.

However, the nightmare began as soon as we reached the hotel. We have to wait for 10 mins unattended at the check-in counter. Even though the other reception counters were available, we weren't informed or redirected until I noticed it myself and moved to the other desk. Well, after that we were made to wait for another 8-10 mins for the check-in registration (although we have pre-booked earlier via Agoda which from my previous experiences will contribute to a quicker check-in process). We thought this was a one-off, until the actual nightmare began while we were in the room.

While we were both in the room (3 hours upon check-in), we heard some voices right outside our room. And then, we heard someone trying to unlock our room's door! I sprung up from the bed immediately and rushed to the door to ensure that our room wasn't being intruded! The lady who was outside my room managed to open our room's door, and as I was blocking the door with my hand, I told her that I am already in the room and she and her husband were shocked as I am. She tried to confirm if my room no. is 1116 and I told her yes, and we were already here since 3 hours ago. The couple then left before mumbling something else.

I called the front desk to give the receptionist a piece of my mind about this harrowing experience. I received no apology, and 20 mins later, a guy from the front desk called me to verify my identity. I almost blew my top! I mean, you guys checked me in and now you are asking me for my identity?? This is absurd!! He ended the call abruptly with a simple "sorry for the inconvenience" and nothing more.

2 hours later, the receptionist called me again while we were trying to get a good rest. She informed me that someone was asking to speak to me. When I asked her was the caller a guest or one of their staff, she said no, it is some outsider and no name was given. Right when I heard that, I was thinking, what kind of customer service is this??? First, you let another guess intrude our privacy by barging into our room, and now again, via a phone call??

I decided then and there that that was the final straw. Needless to say, we checked out right after before dinner! No apology or clarification was offered during the checkout for the horrifying experience that we underwent. I swear I will rather stay at a RM50 budget hotel than to ever return to this place again!

Dear Posh_traveller 2010 I am naturally very concerned and understand your annoyance and distrust of the services provided by the hotel. I do appreciate the in-depth account of your hotel experience with us, I have been allowed to demonstrate to those concerned who made the error to ensure that the procedures implemented are followed and that corrective measures have been undertaken. I do take responsibility and therefore my apology to you. I have written separately to extend a further apology with a hope that you would return to give the hotel a second chance at returning its usual friendly and supportive service. This is a one off incident never to be repeated. Sincerely. Ian Hurst

As per previous reviews, this place is no longer Ramada Plaza and not a hotel. Stayed there 6 months ago and it was great but has rapidly gone downhill.
No housekeeping, dirty bed sheets, unclean rooms. Pool is unmaintained and same with fitness centre.
Fine for a night or two at the price, just be aware of what you are booking.

I had a late flight and arrived to Kuala Lumpur at 10 p.m. I had a reservation for room and breakfast. When I arrived to the hotel, all lights where turn off, there was no opened reception. One of the remaining staff directed me to a room on 11th floor where it supposed to be reception. Manager explained that hotel was closed but I can stay there, with no card to open or close the door of my room, no card to use the elevator and no breakfast! I contacted the agency that booked my stay. They were not informed about the situation, but they managed to find me a new hotel. The one that was opened.
