The Nest is located very close to the heart of the shoppping area in KL. Accomodations are excellent for its pricing. Rooms vary in sizes, the Deluxe room is very convenient for yoga and exercise, while the smallest room is a bit cramped for that purpose.
Very clean and airy environment, excellent kitchen facilities. The cleanest guest house we stayed in KL. We enjoyed the fact that they are trying to be environmentaly friendly.
Wonderful staff, we loved the fact that they tried to be as accomodating as possible to early arrivals and late departure guests.
We were treated very well as returning guests!
We would go back more often if we were closer. Thanks for everything.

Convinient location with walking distance to shopping district and public transport hubs. Breakfast included but very basic. Room service could be better and more regular. But price is really cheap for this city so you can choose it if you are traveller and use hotel just to sleep.

Stayed here for 4 nights the hostel has an excellent location for sightseeing and is located within a few minutes walk from all the main attractions.

The hostel /so called guest house badly needs a deep clean cobwebs everywhere.

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired with the Male receptionist either a sleep or on his phone not interested in his job at all disgusting.

The kitchen is clean and offers a very limited complimentary breakfast and tea and coffee all day

Overall a good location but in a bad area, needs a deep clean with the male member of staff needing to find a job that is not customer focused.

Would not recommend or stay again

First thing I must say is that this was cheap and in a slum area. Even the locals with business downstairs did not know where this place was when asked by the taxi driver. It was well located as far as local shops etc but close surrounds were awful. Rooms were very basic furniture looks good on photos but not practical at all. There was no daily room service and family room was cramped. The breakfast included was a help yourself to cereal, toast and tea in the kitchen and guests had to clean up after themselves - which everyone did as kitchen was spotless.

If you are ok to stay in simple place this guest house should be your choice. Clean, great wifi, friendly and helpful personal. You can have a complimentary breakfast for free: milk, cereals, toast with jam and coffee, some fruits. Nice and simple and all you need to start your day. I felt there comfy and relaxing. Location is great. You will be close to Menara Tower (15 minutes of relax walking for me) and 5 minutes of walk away from very popular food night market with lots of restaurants where you can experience various cuisines and flavors. Lots of fruit stands and variety of ice creams :) it will take about 20 minutes to Petronas Twin towers but you will not even notice that time of walking. I did not :) it's a new place and you want to look around and explore. Little adventure and fitness at the same time. Enjoy great food and burn your calories by walking 😉👌 overall - good place and good price. I 2ould stay there again. Thank you Orange Pekoe Team!

Nice Hotel, friendly staff and clean rooms. only the Wifi in the room wasn't that good. if we needed normal Wifi we went to the reception. the floor in the room could be cleaned a little bit better, but you get what you pay for right? we would recommend this hotel to other backpackers.

After reading loads of great reviews for this place I was excited that I was getting such a great deal (cheap price) for staying in so close to the city centre. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with this guesthouse and we couldn't even stay one night.

Pros - The location is incredible, it's a 15/20min walk to the Petronas Twin Towers, the Bukit Bintang SkyTrain is a 5 min walk (up a hill) and the Pavillion shopping mall which has hundreds of shops and great places to eat is also 5mins walk.
The room is very spacious.
It is very homely, you have to remove your shoes on entering, there is a communal living room with a tv and a communal kitchen which is very big and has a kettle and fridge for use by the guests.
The staff are extremely friendly and gave us a map and explained where everything was.
Safe and secure, there is a safe in the room, the front door is only accessible using the key card.
Reasonably clean, a few hairs in the bed but apart from that nothing majorly dirty.
Easy to reach via taxi or public transport.

Cons - Rats in the ceiling, this is unfortunately why we had to leave. There are also small flies in the halls and communal spaces ( not in the room). the staff use an electric fly swatter to get rid of them which you can hear all the time. We decided to leave as at midnight they were walking down the corridor with the electric fly swatter and the rats in the ceiling were running around. We were worried we would wake up with one in our bed.
The shower room ensuite is small and the mirror is located so that when you are having a shower you can see yourself which was a bit strange.
The room has no amenities, no kettle, no hairdryer, no tea tray. The room is extremely basic.
Located above a takeaway which is open all night and has lots of older men who stared at us when we got out the taxi and made us feel very uncomfortable (not the hotel's fault and I acknowledge there is nothing that can be done about this)
View from window was a dingy and disgusting street although window lets some light in.

Dear Vactio, I was very disappointed to read of your experience during your stay with us. WHilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this occasion, I do extend it with all sincerity. I certainly empathise regarding the points you mention in your review, especially the noise you experienced in your room and the poor service you received as a result. This is level of service is certainly not acceptable and will be addressed with concern. As of now, we already did out monthly pest control and outside they did fumigation so we believe that everything falls back to place. Even though the surrounding doesn't seem charming, it is harmless and friendly. As this incident happened we look forward on welcoming you back here with the better condition rooms! Warm Regards, OP Team

Orange Pekoe (Also known as The Nest, which is actually the more visible sign on the building) is an affordable spot in a location easily accessible by transit. I did find it a little difficult to first find the building from the monorail because it can be hard to find the names of the streets. Once you find it, it's easy to figure out where to take the free KL bus line to the various tourist sites around the city. You can get anywhere within about half an hour, while the airport is another 30 minutes away via the express train.
The free breakfast consists of toast, cereal and coffee/tea/hot chocolate, but there are dozens of restaurants or food stalls nearby if you want something more substantial.
There is no elevator in the building, so be forewarned that you will have to lug heavy luggage up several flights of stairs, and it is not accessible for people with mobility issues.
They also need to update the transportation costs they have listed on their website. It's actual 55 RM to take the airport train (you can save 10 RM if you buy a round trip ticket) and it cost 2.80 for the monorail ticket. Not sure of the taxi fare, but on a card in the room it says it costs 90 RM one way from the airport, but the website says 75 RM.

This guesthouse locates in Bukit Bintang, only 10 mins walking distance to metro station. Meanwhile, Bukit Bintang is the most modern shopping center in Kuala Lumpur from point of my view. Among all the shopping mall, Pavillion is the one u absolutely can not miss due to its cheaper price and tax refund policy. Last but now least, the famous late night food road is also only 5 mins to the guesthouse, called Jalan Alor, so many snacks there in the midnight!!

Also, I love the guesthouse name 'Pekoe', it seems one kind of destiny between us since we visited this inn just after we traveled Sri Lanka where we learned the new Word 'Pekoe'! It is one kind of tea leaf. Normal tea plant can be made in 5 types.
OP-Pekoe-BOP-BOPF-Dust(First two r tea leaf, while last three r tea powder)

Above all, their services r good, place is fully secured, room is clean with full A/C, wifi and hot water.
Of course, a reasonable price~

Only one point, I am not so satisfied that is their breakfast is not so good and with limited short time range.

With all my respect, U should go this guesthouse at least for a try.
I strongly recommend and will go again next time!!
Wish everyone has a nice feeling there. ^_^

The nightlife in KL is very active and i had no issues to take my wife in the night. It is very safe to walk during late hrs also as most of the people in KL and in Malaysia are tourist friendly. The staff at Orange Pekoe was also very helpful.

Q1. Is this hoste safe?? ---》Yes. It is safe. When u enter into hostel, u should unlock the door using cardkey. Also u can lock the door of own ur room. But I want to say that u should be careful whenever u back to the hostel at night. The street was too dark near hostel. I recommend u walk to the big street and bright walkway. Q2. About store near this hostel. There was a store all the time. This store is in very close. U can buy everything. Money exchange is located in everywhere so u can find easily whenever u need. Q3. Shuttle from hostel to back to the airport if u need to shuttle to the airport, u can tell the manager of hostel. Then he will call the taxi from hostel to the airport anytime. The taxi cost would be maximum 130 ringgit. It was so comfortable and safe.
