Orange Pekoe (Also known as The Nest, which is actually the more visible sign on the building) is an affordable spot in a location easily accessible by transit. I did find it a little difficult to first find the building from the monorail because it can be hard to find the names of the streets. Once you find it, it's easy to figure out where to take the free KL bus line to the various tourist sites around the city. You can get anywhere within about half an hour, while the airport is another 30 minutes away via the express train.
The free breakfast consists of toast, cereal and coffee/tea/hot chocolate, but there are dozens of restaurants or food stalls nearby if you want something more substantial.
There is no elevator in the building, so be forewarned that you will have to lug heavy luggage up several flights of stairs, and it is not accessible for people with mobility issues.
They also need to update the transportation costs they have listed on their website. It's actual 55 RM to take the airport train (you can save 10 RM if you buy a round trip ticket) and it cost 2.80 for the monorail ticket. Not sure of the taxi fare, but on a card in the room it says it costs 90 RM one way from the airport, but the website says 75 RM.

This guesthouse locates in Bukit Bintang, only 10 mins walking distance to metro station. Meanwhile, Bukit Bintang is the most modern shopping center in Kuala Lumpur from point of my view. Among all the shopping mall, Pavillion is the one u absolutely can not miss due to its cheaper price and tax refund policy. Last but now least, the famous late night food road is also only 5 mins to the guesthouse, called Jalan Alor, so many snacks there in the midnight!!

Also, I love the guesthouse name 'Pekoe', it seems one kind of destiny between us since we visited this inn just after we traveled Sri Lanka where we learned the new Word 'Pekoe'! It is one kind of tea leaf. Normal tea plant can be made in 5 types.
OP-Pekoe-BOP-BOPF-Dust(First two r tea leaf, while last three r tea powder)

Above all, their services r good, place is fully secured, room is clean with full A/C, wifi and hot water.
Of course, a reasonable price~

Only one point, I am not so satisfied that is their breakfast is not so good and with limited short time range.

With all my respect, U should go this guesthouse at least for a try.
I strongly recommend and will go again next time!!
Wish everyone has a nice feeling there. ^_^

Dear Humble_Paladin, Thank you for staying with us and taking time to have your feedback here! They called it the "Golden Triangle" as you can find almost everything in this location. First warning... do not lets it's surroundings deceive you. When we got out of out pre-paid taxi, my husband stared at me for a moment - the stare to ask me "Pooja, what place have you booked for us? is this where we are gonna stay for next 3 days?"
But, deep down my gut told me to be patient. And trust me, once we entered the guesthouse we felt maybe we have made the best decision. Our plan of having a budget trip was not a bad idea after all.
This place has the best location at fairly cheaper rates compared to all grand hotels that surround this tiny guesthouse. All the major malls are maximum 15 min walk away, the closest monorail station is 5 min walk away, popular pubs and restaurants barely 10 min away. We could not have asked for more.
The rooms are pretty clean. A kind lady will come everyday to clean your room. They offer decent breakfast, decent enough to keep your stomach full until noon.

And though the restaurants below this guesthouse look unhygienic, honestly they serve some awesome food. Since i am a vegetarian and an Indian, i can get finicky about my food and who serves it, but these restaurants gave me some awesome Indian food which i craved for days i was in Malaysia.

Totally worth the stay and the money we pay!!! Recommended.

Pavilion Mall
徒歩25分:China Town(歩いて行ってました)
徒歩25分:KLCC-shopping mall(歩いて行ってました)

Ignore the outside. Get inside! Very homely. Very calming. The ambiance of the guesthouse very welcoming. The colors, the interior, the pantry, the balcony (smoking area), the room is just flawless. Its super clean, spotless! Yes, the bathroom/toilet is small but that never an issue because that's just how it is in Southeast Asia. The breakfast is good enough to start the day - 2 type of cereals, 2 type of breads, butter/jams, fruit, coffee/tea/milo/orange. Not bad at all. The mattress, duvet, pillows are super comfy. No TV in the room but not a problem - just go to the living room. Comfy couches, flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Also 2 computers for guests to use, free of charge. Good WiFi when I was there. No problem to Skype my family and friends, also to surf. Friendly, informative and helpful staffs, too!

Strategically located in the middle of shopping district, party central area of Bukit Bintang yet very quite and calm. Easy access (by public transportation or by foot) to well, shopping malls, attractions, eateries, pubs/clubs. Easy access to public transportation - GO KL (free) bus, Hop-on Hop-off bus, city bus, monorail (sky train). Download "My Teksi" app in your smartphone if you wanna use taxi service to go anywhere as taxis outside on the main street are pretty nasty.

I will definitely recommend this guesthouse to others! For sure!

The guest house is clean and comfortable and well situated close to a metro station. What sets it apart is the so very helpful staff.

Our first day in KL and my husband was pickpocket on the free bus. The guest house staff went out of their way to help us phone the bank to cancel our cards.

I once backpacked for eight months, so I've stayed at a lot of hostels. This one is hands-down the quietest I've ever visited. I was here for four days and only saw (yes, saw, not met) about ten people, even though the place was fully booked. One day I was feeling lazy and spent almost the entire day in the common room, yet still sighted just a couple of people.

If you're keen to meet lots of people, this probably isn't the place for you. But that's my only criticism. Everything else about it is great -- it's clean, the beds are good, the breakfast is decent, the location is great, the staff are helpful, it's very secure, the WIFI is reliable, it's well air-conditioned, etc. I stayed in a private room though, so my experience may be a little different from those who stayed in dorms. The showers are those annoying faucet over the toilet bowl setups, but that's par for the course in South-East Asia, so I couldn't really be annoyed about that. The owner, Lupo, is a particularly nice and helpful person.

The nightlife in KL is very active and i had no issues to take my wife in the night. It is very safe to walk during late hrs also as most of the people in KL and in Malaysia are tourist friendly. The staff at Orange Pekoe was also very helpful.

Q1. Is this hoste safe?? ---》Yes. It is safe. When u enter into hostel, u should unlock the door using cardkey. Also u can lock the door of own ur room. But I want to say that u should be careful whenever u back to the hostel at night. The street was too dark near hostel. I recommend u walk to the big street and bright walkway. Q2. About store near this hostel. There was a store all the time. This store is in very close. U can buy everything. Money exchange is located in everywhere so u can find easily whenever u need. Q3. Shuttle from hostel to back to the airport if u need to shuttle to the airport, u can tell the manager of hostel. Then he will call the taxi from hostel to the airport anytime. The taxi cost would be maximum 130 ringgit. It was so comfortable and safe.
