Fantastic place to stay for KL old town. Very inexpensive and located in the heart of town. I was delighted with the place. Tip get a room on the other side to the train station. Next to Central Market and China Town. Local food available all around

We have stayed at this hotel many many times before even before it was called the Geo now called travel lodge. However we have just cancelled our next two bookings for feb and march 2024. The breakfast is not fit to consume and we were disgusted at the quality very very poor unfortunately no photos as we walked out. Then we broke a cup in the room accidentally of course. Anyway we went to reception and informed them of what had happened and apologised profusely. We were met with such hostility because of this accident and was told you will now pay £6 for and mug. I apologised again and asked were it stated this in the terms and conditions and that it was pure accident. The response was we don’t care you will pay. We paid £6 and waited for our new mug to arrive. It did an ikea mug costing 79pence and we were charged £6 absolutely disgusting customer service . In all the 16 years of stay here and treated with respect and great service we will never stay here again. And to add to that the towels were dirty and customer service none existent.

Great location next to Central Market, Chinatown cafes and markets, Indian Temple, right next to the monorail station, and one stop from the main hub KL Sentral, a great way to explore KL. Very good service from the staff, but one thing is missing from the setup. There's a big empty unused space next to the lobby with a fudbox snack machine and seats, which is an ideal area for a bench and a couple of internet PCs. NOT everyone likes to read tourist options on a tiny phone screen. The room was clean and comfortable, good value, breakfast was $5 extra.

The good: Checking in was professionally handled by a young lady, no deposit required, checkout was also a breeze, 2 key cards were given to one room, room is quite clean and with decent space, has a fridge and safety box The bad: The aircond is hardly cold and it was hard to sleep with the blanket on as it gets too hot, the corridor on 8th floor has carpet and smells funny, the room is without carpet, they called the room at 11.40am to remind me to check out, the lift doesnt require card and guest can access any floor which is quite unsafe Overall, its an ok stay at that location as guests can park at the central market parking lot right opposite. It is quite centrally located but could be better managed especially the equipments, facilities and furniture should need constant checking and updates so that mishaps such as aircond issues will not happen in the future.

Dear siokjin Thank you for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback. While we wish you had a better experience, it is through continuous feedback from valuable guests like yourself that we are able to objectively review the facilities and services we provide. We are extremely disappointed to learn that your stay with us had been a less than positive experience. While an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience, we do extend it with all sincerity. We take our guests’ feedback very seriously; rest assured that your feedback about the air-con has and corridor's carpet has been related to the relevant departments for further service improvements and kindly accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences caused. Once again we sincerely hope that this isolated experience does not mar your impression of the hotel and that you will give us another opportunity to impress you with our commitment to continual improvement. Warm Regards, Travelodge Chinatown Kuala Lumpur Management

This hotel is terrible as there was a complete water disruption on October 8th,2023. Imagine getting up in the morning on Sunday morning to find the taps dry and not even a single drop of water to even brush your teeth nor to even wash your face more less to shower.

On September 29th, we checked in at the Travelodge Chinatown Kuala Lumpur hotel. The receptionist informed us that they couldn't find our booking and asked us to contact Agoda ourselves. We had proof of our reservation and payment, but the hotel staff refused to check us in. They insisted we contact Agoda again and have them send a confirmation email to the hotel. After some back and forth, it was confirmed that there were no available rooms, despite us finding our booking. This experience wasted a significant amount of our time. The hotel staff, particularly the two women at the reception, were unprofessional. They rejected our booking without a valid reason and didn't take any responsibility for the situation. They didn't even apologize for the inconvenience caused. They insisted that it was Agoda's fault entirely. In the end, Agoda called to offer to cancel our booking at this hotel, and we had to find accommodation elsewhere, wasting at least three hours dealing with this hotel.

Dear SurachestB Our sincere apologies regarding your booking. It has come to our attention that we did not receive your reservation, and we understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation must be for you. Please know that this is not reflective of our usual standards, and we are actively investigating the issue and contacted Agoda as your booking was handled by them. We was informed by Agoda that you do not have booking with us and they will handle your booking separately from their side. As much as we would like you to stay with us, but unfortunately, our hotel was running full on that day. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Warm Regards, Travelodge Chinatown Kuala Lumpur Management

The lock was spoilt for more than 3 hours. The security guard came up twice to fix this. But it could be fixed. The maintenance team came over to replace the entire lock and then disappeared suddenly, without informing me who is there. Called the reception multiple times and they had no idea what is the status of the repair. Wanted to change my room but staff refuse to change my room. Finally I had to went down to request for a change to new room. By this time I had already ask multiple times to change the room. Realised later that I left my food and drinks in the fridge. Went back to the room with another guard but the fridge emptied. The staff denied that they had either thrown away stolen what it was in the fridge. Terrible experience, which ruin my day. Don't expect any service or the staff to be honest.
