MO has been very accommodating to my requests during my stay! Stayed over the weekend for husband’s birthday celebration and I was amazed by their overall service. Thanks Kayi and Sheryl for setting up beautiful hi-tea in my room! Lovely!

I was very disappointed during my recent stay in the hotel. The couch in the dining area had multiple stains. I was very surprised to find a peanut on the chair in the restaurant. My son has peanut allergy. I highlighted my concerns to the wait staff. They casually took the peanut away and asked me if I need food so that they can compensate me this way. They completely missed the point that it is dangerous to leave the peanut around which can be dangerous to peanut allergy sufferer. I think they really need a proper education. The hotel room was dusty, a shirt in the drawer would pick up lots of dusts. Bathroom is in need of modernisation. The room is too pricey for this substandard service. This is my first and the last visit to this hotel.

This is an excellent hotel - the service is amazing! The park is just behind the hotel but Suria mall is beside it. The walkway to Bukit Bintang can be accessed from the convention center which is beside it (also Aquaria )! I also like that they’re trying to be more environmentally friendly by reducing plastic waste .. would love to stay here again !

I am an elite club member. I booked for a night with MO with elite club member free stay voucher along side with 2 other upgrade voucher to upgrade the room to KLCC view. I was given the room 1014. Which is unable to see the full KLCC view. I see a whole bunch of SOLAR panels. I did not know that this is what an "upgrade" mean. The room is also dated, it is not one of the newly renovated rooms of MO. The hotel must really want to dissuade me from renewing my elite club membership to do this to me. I only stayed at MO because of Elite Club membership. I dined at MO Grill and received lovely services there. Despite not being able to use my 50% voucher (since it is limited to LUNCH time only), I supported MO Grill, bringing bill to more than Rm1.6k. I share the above, because I would like to share how elite club brings customer to your hotel and restaurants, so I think elite club members should be given some level of respect and genuinity when comes to room allocation. I was pursued nonstop to sign up for elite club, once I am a member, I receive poor services. The sales personnel who asked me to join did not even want to answer my question of whether I can use any of the voucher for Ramadhan month and simply asked me to REFER TO T&C / CHECK BROADCAST WhatsApp messages. She typed more sentences to make it sound like I did not obey instructions instead of answering yes/no question. If this is the level of service I were to receive along with room with poor view despite upgrade vouchers used, then it is hard for me to renew my membership. I share the same sentiments with some other elite club members. Some of them requested for room change. I did not. I assumed that after one customer complaint, the next few elite club members would be treated differently. Unfortunately, this is not the case. In short, if you are looking for staycation, I don't think MO is the hotel to be. Similarly, Elite club membership likely won't get you the return in investment you thought you would if you are not utilising it for business use.

The Mandarin Oriental is perfectly place - literally next door to the mega mall of Suria KLC and walking distance to Pavillion - has amazing staff and an amazing Executive Lounge. A friend and I stayed 6 nights for a shopping trip and sprung for the Executive Lounge, which is totally worth it - amazing breakfasts of curries, eggs however you want them, great coffee, pastries, and fruits, They also have an afternoon tea at 2.30pm where you can sit looking over the Petronas towers, sipping a G&T and having some cheese and other snacks. Evening cocktails and canapés is more like a full meal - you could easily eat here and no where else. The pool is amazing - infinity edge on the 3rd floor looking over the water park, with heaps of loungers, cabanas a shower - and a restaurant. The staff are really attentive and will bring towels for your lounger - and a cold face towel and glass of water when you first set up. The morning in the pool are magical as you can see the sun come up over the city, There's also a spa section which has a dry and wet sauna, and hot a cold plug pool/spa. The bathroom of the spa is amazing - marble everywhere, towels and diptyche toiletries. The staff a re fantastic - always happy to help with a taxi, recommend a restaurant or shopping area. The rooms are not huge but it's KL so that's not surprising, but there is everything you need - a small fridge, kettle, nespresso machine, hairdryer, work desk and chair, large TV and the largest in room safe I've ever seen. The bathroom has a shower seperate to a bath and diptyche toiletries (the large wall mounted shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the shower and soaps and toothbrushes etc near the sink (although the conditioner pump didn't work in our room) We've been before and will happily go again.

As a fan of MO, I stayed in March as it was a conference hotel participant. The proximity to KLCC was great and the shopping mall and food court were less than 5 minutes away, so location wise it was great. However, when it came to service, it depended on perception. If regarded as a simple business conference hotel, it hits the right buttons: a clean room, breakfast included and close proximity to venue. However if you regard it as MO, a luxurious hotel brand, then it falls short. Check in was smooth and seamless. The upgraded corner room was a nice touch, quiet and 2 windows - one almost looking to the next corner room, so binds are pretty well drawn all the time). There was a door that adjoins to the next room; locked but was quite noisy when another guest checked in (soundproofing AND volume of guest each paying a part). The bath was nice and big, although one evening I noted the whole bottle of liquid soap was simply missing and needed to call the front desk, but they mistakenly thought my hand soap was missing. Other details of the room was slightly disappointing - the furniture in the room was old, scratched, and the leather handles of the desk chair was fraying and falling apart. The coffee table had old scratches on it. Closet space was on the small size, (built into corridor) and bar area was tiny, with no coffee machine (Nespresso or equivalent) which most 5 star hotels should have. I also had a dress that was stained and asked laundry to help me, - they sent it back the next days saying they failed to do so, and charged me anyways - but I ended up being able to remove it when I got back home (cheaper and all it took was an online google search). Due to the high occupancy rate, breakfast was crowded and one morning I had to eat at their set up at the MO Grill. The coffee machine was broken so I had to wait for them to take it from Mosaic. The choices were limited and the hot dishes was cold. This was the only time I had breakfast there. The rest of the days I insisted to dine at Mosaic, as it selection food, and service was more to the MO brand. Overall I was slightly disappointed as I expected more from the MO name. The staff were very quick and tried to address my demands but it a case of "a label defines you". Maybe next conference I will try to see their club rooms but then expectations may be higher (and disappointment larger).

Rooms are nice, a bit old classic style that could need some little refurbishment. Location is amazing right at the park and Petrona towers. I missed fresh and healthy fruit juices at the breakfast buffet. Compared to other Malaysian hotels/restaurants, the food and selection was very good (Malaysian food is not really good). Air-Conditioning too cold especially at club lounge. Can be busy at breakfast/lobby, so club category can make sense.

The reason why I have been a supporter, and we have been frequent guests, of Mandarin Oriental Hotels for the last 25 years is because the brand keeps redefining the meaning of the word “Hospitality.” This is always a pleasure to watch, and indeed be a recipient of. I have stayed at no less than 7 of their properties world wide to date, many of them multiple times. As a hotelier of some years standing, (43 years and counting,) the MO Kuala Lumpur rises again and again to the top of the tree. It has become our habit of quite a few years now, (Covid screwed things up a good bit I know,) to finish one of our tours of SE Asia with a bit of pampering on our way home at this hotel. so, having been away for 31/2 years, we had some trepidation as to what we would find. Once the doorman, dressed in full Malay rig by the way, fella by the name of Ashram, hugged me at he door like a long lost friend, which in a sense we have become, we knew we were back in the happy place. The team here is largely new, since reopening after Covid, but has the same level of professionalism, the same level of attention to detail it has always to had and, given the difficulties of losing 30-40% of staff, (an industry-wide affliction,)the team is managing to look after one of the ‘Grand Dames’ in the hotel business in SE Asia remarkably well. Initially there was a problem arising from the package we had booked but, the level of professionalism that this was dealt with was breathtaking, when they GM realised the situation, he swung in to action, and on a Sunday as well. John, Kevin, Belinda, the team at the pool, especially Malek, the team in Mosaic, the Lounge, the Grill Bar, and all the other lads, (lads being gender neutral in Ireland by the way,) you truly humble me with your efforts and made our visit for our 25th wedding anniversary very special. Counting the days till we return.
