In March 2025, my family of six took care of me. It was an early morning flight, so I asked if I could leave my luggage in a cloakroom before check-in, and they agreed. Also, after check-in, I asked for an extra bed because there were no extra beds and only amenities for two people, which should have been reserved for three people in each of the two rooms. Another thing that left a lasting impression on me was that the waiter, SUMON, smiled every morning during the breakfast biff and served me a heap of coffee and fruit. We had the most amazing time there. The atmosphere, food and the amenities were excellent. Staff are so kind and kid friendly! Stayed in an executive room with access to the Executive Lounge. The check in was done in the Executive Lounge by Harry and we were so warmly greeted and made to feel special. The Executive Lounge is one of the best we have ever experienced. Harry and his team look after us, especially since I suffer from Celiac disease. Special gluten free was made available for me during the afternoon teas and evening snacks. The wines were delicious and the measures were good. Special tanks to Ovi and Rahul for looking after us with so much care and attention in the Executive Lounge. Thanks also to the breakfast crew for making sure that I had gluten free options available. Ishtaq in the dining area is outstanding. So thanks to him for looking after me. The food on offer for breakfast was amazing, my husband enjoyed all the different choices such as Indian, Chinese, Malay. Our Executive Room was so comfortable and one of the largest beds ever. The young man that cleaned our room did a first class job with such grace. So please, management, thank him from us. Our room was cleaned twice a day and 3 pieces of laundry was washed and ironed ad complimentary. Excellent location next to the train and bus stations. Free buses on offer whilst we were there. The hop on and off bus stop also just outside. The KLCC towers 5 minutes walk. Beautiful park area for evening stroll by the towers. Shopping malls and 5* hotels in this neighborhood.

Was staying on weekend saturday night, the hotel is very full and getting good business. Hotel treat club guest very well and treat truly as VIP. Felix from club lounge sent greeting email before stay by one day seeking for schedule departure which is my first time getting this kind of greeting email along from the intercontinental hotel i stayed recent year. In the meantime, upon arrival, the front desk staff will bring you up the 26th floor for check in and I meet Felix again! Despite of a busy day & crowded lounge, Felix handle our check in without waiting too long. Room condition is surprisingly good given that the hotel is renovated ten years ago. The hotel keep their room very well and clean in a good condition. At the evening we joined happy hour in club lounge but there is no seat available upon arrival which is quite embarrassing, i would suggest the hotel should arrange the guest to join happy hour in batch or providing online status of lounge crowdless. But the staff in club lounge still proactive help us looking for seat which is very appreciated. Bed turndown service was provided without special request with good handling on the room. With a lovely card prepare by the hotel come with nice food. Hotel location is in walkable distance to KLCC and also providing free parking so that you can drive in and out to visit the near region. Concierge, and all other staff did a great job serving their customers! Overall this hotel definitely meeting the five star standard, will definitely stay again when i visit kuala lumper!

Kuala Lumpur is FULL of better properties. Things change. Good places can go bad and bad places go broke. Sadly, this is what has happened here. While checking-in the place felt dated. The wall behind the reception had fading, peeling paint on the wood-work. The rooms as well as bathrooms (more on that later) are large and roomy. Those are about the two good attributes that there are.
You need to trigger hot water by finding a switch beside the bathroom entrance. Having not been informed of this 'hot-water-by-switch' method, on my second morning here, I ran the water in the basin for a while. The water (plenty of force there) first ran clear, then began changing color to light yellow, dark yellow, reddish, full-on rust and then BLACK! If you stay here, use bottled water for all basin related activities. If the four small water bottles in the room are not enough, there is a 7-11 convenience store in the attached Mall.
Check in time was so terrible and not understanding staff even I use US English, Front office was so slow during check in and the name of (Ashley) was annoying using phone during check in looking Instagram/facebook The best of annoying Intercontinental staff
Upon check out I went to the concierge by the name of (John) help to book transport to airport,concierge not really welcoming my approaching.I was told that a four-seater booked on the Grab App wold set me back around 70 Ringgit. A four-seater taxi would set me back a 130 Ringgit and that a six-seater hotel car would cost 150Ringgit. I asked for the six-seater, was charged 150Ringgit, and provided a normal cab. And the first time ever i meet the concierge was talk for the last conversation so rude 'find yourself way this only we have' what a rude daybin this hotel.
I can safely state that my last stay at this property is behind me.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the exceptional team at Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur for making our stay truly unforgettable. The breakfast hall staff, particularly Sumon, Amdad and Sanusi provided outstanding service, ensuring that our mornings began with a warm smile and perfectly prepared beverages. The variety and quality of the breakfast spread were impressive, with a great selection of international and local cuisine.
The lounge team, including Aliliol, Hanjala and Jabid were equally impressive, offering attentive and personalized service throughout our stay. They prepared vegetarian snacks everyday to cater to my dietary needs.
We were consistently impressed by the high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and attention to detail throughout the hotel. Please keep up the fantastic work!

As a long-time IHG Platinum Elite and Ambassador member, I am deeply disappointed with my experience at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. Over the years, I have stayed at numerous IHG properties around the world, and this is the first time I have encountered such rigid, unhelpful, and frankly insulting behavior from staff, including the reservations team and particularly the duty manager, Mr. Yong. Their lack of professionalism and respect towards a loyal member was shocking, especially in a region like Asia, where service is typically outstanding. Their dismissive attitude and unwillingness to assist were unacceptable. To make matters worse, we were misled multiple times. Finally, we were promised a renovated room. However, the room provided was far below expectations, to say the least. The so-called “renovated” room had a defective, rusty and broken shower hose, (leading to my wife cutting herself whilst trying to use it), and a leaking bathtub that flooded the bathroom. I will attach photos of the condition to support my claim. Uppn inspection we were told that the repair would take too long and we were offered another room, in the same category. Since it was a one night stopover and we were terribly tired and frustrated, we declined and gave up on using the bathtub altogether. While the hotel itself is undeniably dated, we do acknowledge the comfortable bed and the same amenities which meet IHG’s usual standards. But that is about it. The one saving grace was Mr. Aliol, from the club lounge, who provided exceptional service and went above and beyond to mitigate our negative experience. However, this was not enough to compensate for the poor treatment we received from the rest of the staff. As for the lounge itself, it was decent, but below other Intercontinental club lounges level, as far as food, beverages and service go. Given these circumstances, we are left questioning whether IHG continues to be the right choice for us. If such substandard service becomes a trend, we will seriously reconsider our loyalty to this chain and explore alternatives that prioritize guest satisfaction and respect.

This is a worst experience ever in an Intercontinental hotel.
1) There was nearby water piping issue that has resulted in yellow water running in the hotel for entire stay 26-28th July.
2) Water problem was known before guests check in - no warming or offer of tips or refund whatsoever
3) I contacted number of managers who offered the change room but no room has CLEAN water
4) I asked if we could use Pool water if it has better water quality (at least clear water) and answer was unsure
5) entire trip - one of kids just refused to take shower and we could NOT take any meals in hotels given the whole containment issue
6) While the water pipeline issue was not caused directly by the hotel, the staffs have no adequate training on handling PR crisis like this. No gesture of compensation nor alternative plan was ever offered to guests but 20 bottles of plastic water (pls rinse yourself with bottle water for face, body and mouth)
This remarkably low service quality (vs my stay at W Hotel back in April for Easter) has reminded travelers into South East Asia countries that don’t blindly trust the brand or manager as quality could have varied.

- nice sized pool, lovely pool area. Only let down is the water was just a shade too cold. You really had to keep moving! Not a pool to lounge in!
- location is really good, next to Ampung Park mrt, and patronas, klcc is a really short walk away.
- quality of food at the breakfast buffet was great. But selection was small and a bit of a let down for an Intercontinental. The food area was really cramped too. Would of liked a better bread and pastry selection, and some rotation in what was served each day.
- staff at this hotel were all really lovely and helpful. Especially the chaps in the lobby, who made sure we got the best deal on our taxi to the airport.
- my children loved the koi and turtles in the lobby!
- only big let down was our check in experience. We arrived early hours of the morning, with 2 tired young children. I'd already emailed the hotel to notify of our arrival time, and we had paid for that previous night. Nothing was prepared, and no care was given to the fact that we had obviously travelled a long way and had two tired young children with us.
- Finally! But importantly! Be very careful if you book a room for 4 with breakfast! We were told the breakfast only covered 2 people! Despite putting in 2 adults and 2 children in the search on ihg website, and paying more for those 2 children, then we would have done I'd there had only been 2 adults for the same room! Why on earth you would book a room for 4, specifically"with breakfast" and it only include 2 of the occupants of the room is madness, and a complete con! So be careful. It does say in the small print, but I missed this madness, assuming that if I put the number of occupants in the search engine, that 'room with breakfast' would cover all of them!! 🙄 Luckily, when I pointed out that my children are 4 and 7 and literally eat half a roll and a bit of juice in the mornings, the reception lady relented and said we could have them included for free! And as predicted, my 4 year old ate nothing every day! 😂🤦🏼♀️
Overall a really nice hotel, let down by a silly breakfast policy and lukewarm check in experience. Would probably stay again, but without breakfast!

We booked 2 room in Dec 2022 and stayed for 3 nites.
Our 1st check in experience was pretty good because the front line staff (a trainee by the way) tried her best to give us 2 connecting rooms. After we stood there for 5 minutes while waiting for her to check on the computer, we were elated when she said she found 2 connecting rooms, located on the 12th floor.
I'm not sure if i heard wrongly or she did not communicate clearly, it turned out the 2 rooms are just adjacent to each other but not connecting. A tad disappointed but that's 2nd best and this is no the reason why I rate it 2 stars.
While my room is fine, the other room reeked of cigarette smell. Took the staff quite a bit of time ( and i mean at least a 2-hour wait) to send someone up to spay some air freshener. In fact, when I went down to the front desk because no one is picking up my phone anymore, the staff on duty actually said mine is a smoking room!! Bruh....are you kidding me? She corrected herself when I repeated my room number.
There is no way the housekeeper can miss it because the entire 12 floor common walkway has no lingering cigarette smell until i step into that "non smoking" room.
Not surprisingly, the cigarette smell came back after the 1st night and we have to endure this for next 2 nites.
Ms Meera Raj, if you are reading my review here, pls don't bother to post a template reply. I saw a same complaint posted earlier for a Dec stay by other reviewer of the same problem.
If you are serious in what you claimed in The Edge Malaysia on 20 May 2022 to reinstate the glamor of IHG KL, then STOP SELLING non smoking rooms until they are fully reinstated as one.

I have personally walked the floor and confirmed there was no cigarette smell, however if you could furnish us with your room number, we might recheck that particular room. Actually I am not sure but there is a complex of shops that are near the hotel and one of them was a laundry. Also I discovered a money exchange shop within this complex with a better rate than that of Suria mall (next to petronas twin tower). This complex is between the hotel and the tower, on same side, but you have to look carefully to find it. There are also photo copy machines in it and photographers.
There are more places to choose from in the Kuala Lumpur area.
