I recently stayed at Sheraton Imperial KL Hotel for a 4-night business trip. While the room was spacious and the swimming pool was well-maintained, I encountered some issues. Firstly, the check-in process was quite slow and I had to wait in line for at least 20min. Secondly, the breakfast area was extremely crowded each morning. Thirdly, the service was worse than expected as many staff appeared unhappy. The reception guy (who looked Indian) had a poker face which made me feel unwelcome. Lastly, the biggest issue for me was the noise in my room. There were loud motorbikes outside from 1am to 4am, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. However, the hotel's reasonable price and good-looking swimming pool are definite pluses. It is still a decent option for travelers on a budget.…
We were aware to check-in in a very old property, despite this our stay was very disappointing in all aspects. The room is comfortable with the usual comfy bed sheets from Sheraton, however pillows are uncomfortable and there is limited soundproofing from other rooms and from the road outside, even when putting earplugs. Damp visible on all windows. Club lounge opens after breakfast so no service in the lounge until evening cocktails (fruits/cookies available throughout the day). Food offering is limited and apart from salad and watermelon, the rest of the small selection is unhealthy. Drinks also on the low quality. Understand the hotel wants to manage costs, but it does not cost more to offer some decent dishes instead of pie/fried stuff. Breakfast selection is very subpar compared with other similar brands in center. Apart from Malay section (oily only dishes) and bakery/cake section, there is limited offering. The only plus side of this breakfast was the fresh juices section. Spa for the men area provides an unbearable sound of the machinery of the hotel, located right between steam room and sauna. To forget.. Fitness is 1st generation Technogym equipment, maybe time to update? Basic Titanium benefits, low recognition, no suite upgrade despite availability. Instant coffee in the room in the morning while the lounge is close.. Plastic water bottles, in 2023 time to update with more ecological options? There are a few great Marriott (and other brands) properties in KL. First and last time in this property.…
Good stay, good food with friendly staff. Centrally located. The hotel arranged our transfers without an issue. . However, the checkout staff was abrupt and lacking in warmth. We felt they were overwhelmed as there were many checkouts. Barring the above - overall, it was a happy stay.
The last hotel on our agenda in Malaysia was the Sheraton Imperial. We had two reasons for booking it: First, the price was very good and second, the hotel offers a Club Lounge. Due to the relatively low price, our expectations were quite low. All the more it was exceeded! First, we were surprised by our room. It was very spacious and relatively freshly renovated. The Club Lounge also exceeded our expectations. It is not very large, which is why there may well be waiting times during peak hours. However, the range of food and drinks was absolutely sufficient. The atmosphere was also good. The staff was nice and attentive. I would like to particularly highlight James at this point. Incidentally, all the other hotel staff were also friendly and courteous. The housekeeping did a great job. In addition to a fairly large outdoor pool with plenty of loungers, there is also a nice gym and you can even access a sauna, steam room and hot indoor pool. All of these facilities are not up to date, but well maintained. Unfortunately, it was always quite crowded at breakfast. Often the buffets were empty and you had to wait quite a long time until they were refilled. However, the selection was quite good. The location of the hotel is ok. There are certainly better locations, but with the Sky Train right outside the door or a cab or Grab you can explore the city well.…
Am still on the midst of my 5 day stay and suffice to say it has been most disappointing. The only exception is the Club Lounge- which has been somewhat decent. I booked with notes in advance for birthday celebration- I ended up holding my birthday dinner elsewhere due to the lackluster service here. Titanium recognition was negligible. Consistently bad service from front desk....especially in the handling of my second room. Asked for a connecting room 2 days in advance and did not receive a reply despite messages through the app. I ended up physically going to the front desk to make arrangements. On day of check in, I dropped more than 8 requests to be informed when my room is ready through app, call and physical fromt desk visit. At 5 pm, I had to GO DOWN for the uptenth time to check (since no one was replying to me through app, and phone calls are not producing results), and finally told that the room is ready. Very bad room inventory management- especially since there are still plenty of room available for sale on the app. Overal lackluster service.…
I made a last minute booking on 8/3/2023 for One Night just to surprises my wife on the Woman's Day, and I'm travelling from Penang just to make this happened. First, my reservation was supposed to be RM350 rate with 2Adult breakfast, that is why I changed just to experience the first time stay in your Hotel. But upon checking in, the girl at reception counter mentioned about RM48x which I'm not been told in my booking confirmation. I heard she spoke to another lady next to her about my reservation confirmation which not stated rate as she mentioned. But then the lady asked the girl to take the photo of my reservation which only stated RM350 only. The girl informed me that after adding the service charge and tax it will be RM406. And I still pay with no argument. Paying RM406 at last with no breakfast entitlement. Both of them attended to my wife with no warm welcome smile. Not friendly. Pity my wife it's my Woman's special day. Upon check out next day around 11.30am, there is a male Duty Manager attended to me and said I still need to pay you RM8x because after the night audit he said I got a pending bill. Such an embarrassing moment to me on that time because for me my wife already paid all and my bill has been zerorised after made the payment RM406. But then he asked us to pay RM8x plus again. Extremely this is ridiculous and not acceptable for you to do to your paying guests. They should communicate to each other to relay a message so that your guests will not become the victim. I felt cheated with all of this and if you had included any further hidden changes just to attract guests yo stay with you, it will not success forever. Additional Conclusion is for us to pay a room rate of above than RM400 with no breakfast is also ridiculous. I still have the copy of the bill upon check in that I already settled and zerorised. The Duty Manager also need to be sent to training.…
The rooms are bad and needed upgrades . The breakfast is vey much limited and food quality is also odd. The bathroom do have leakage problems. Over all experience was not up to the mark of Sheraton. Hope it will get improved I. The coming months .
The hotel is not new but all the facilities are well maintained. The room is spacious with very comfortable bed. We managed to get good night sleep and day time nap without any interruptions. As Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite members we did not get the standard welcome greeting during check in. The staff just handed a piece of paper that we had to read ourselves. The Sheraton Club Lounge on the 38th Floor was a tranquil oasis that provided delicious snacks and drinks. All the staff at the lounge were really friendly and courteous except one dyed hair male staff who was really arrogant and really unprofessional. We believed he might be a supervisor or manager there. He openly berated other staff loudly in front of the guests. He also being selective in being friendly to guests. Extremely rude, loud and unprofessional. He seemed to bully another male staff. Keep on scolding that staff in front of us. Hospitality industry requires people who are genuinely enjoy encounter with guests besides providing good service. His presence made our experience at Sheraton Club a very unpleasant indeed. He should consider a career change if he could no longer change his bad attitude as he himself alone could taint and damage the good name of Sheraton Imperial Hotel Kuala Lumpur.…
Stayed for 2 nights over the weekend (last stay to this hotel was in Oct 2022). Arrival experience - clearly the staff at the reception was very new or don't know she's doing. Gave her my identification card, she can't find the booking. Asked me the confirmation no/booking, then in a while, she found my booking. No standard welcome greetings to Bonvoy elite members (I'm a Titanum Bonvoy). She handed over a blank registration form and asked me to sign it and she will fill in all the details later. Can't believe it! Chose either 1,000 points or breakfast at the Essence. If I chose 1,000 points, I have to look for breakfast elsewhere since lounge opened from 1030 am. Room - no upgrades to Suite. Maybe full. Don't bother to ask. Rooms as usual, spacious. Very comfortable mattress but the pillow was too soft. No bath mat provided and no body lotion. Have to call the housekeeping. No welcome amenities in the room (fruits or snacks). Shower - as usual, the shower pressure not so strong. Food - Breakfast at Essence - a big disappointment with the selection, taste and quality. The spread was reduced and not worth it. For Bonvoy elite members, take the 1,000 points and have your breakfast outside. Food at Lounge @ 38 Floor - totally disappointed with the food. Either SILK is doing a cost saving measures on F&B or the Executive Chef in charge doing it wrong. Obviously, the food could be improved from current presentation. If it can't matched the quality before Covid pandemic, at least keep the quality as last year. The food quality and spread was a big letdown. Service from Ms As (Mek) was outstanding as usual. She recognized me and quickly ushered me to my normal table. Sauna/Steam room/Jacuzzi - opened at 7 am and close at 9 pm. They should again revised the operation hours to 9:30 pm or 10 pm. The Jacuzzi not hot enough. …
For a Sheraton hotel, services are bellow expectations. Internet was working fine, breakfast was at a good standard. But the most reliable and good service was the concierge. For a new commer in the city a help from them is esential. Rooms are ald fashion style, no refurbished. Personell is not so friendly, we have tried a restaurant in the hotel and the experience was poor. Spa facility is fine, the most problematic thing is the venue.
