Detailed Reviews
One thing that strikes this hotel is its location: at the intersection of KL Monorail and Star LRT line. If you enjoy rail public transport, this is the place to be. There is also an intercity open air bus station. Do ask before they assign you the room as lower floor facing the bus station may not escape the noise.
The Hotel has its own basement parking (RM10 per day stay), and the cheaper road side City Hall parking is aplenty.
There is a night market on selected days, a fair selection of affordable eateries and a good Chinese restaurant fronting the hotel itself.
It is accurately rated as 4* chain run by YTL Hotels, a respectable name locally. Staff is reasonably friendly. The hotel has its own restaurant at d reception floor and a cool cafe beside the reception.
Room is decent, clean and has the amenities one would expect. A rain shower within glass cubicle is a joy as pressure is good.

The recent review on this property wasn't good, so i was wondering if i should cancel the booking and go elsewhere.
Well then i decided to just try, one night stay only no harm.
You need to know 2 things, i guess.
Firstly this is a rebranded old property, so you will see it's age, cause it has undergone refurbishment only, not major renovation.
Second, yes this property is in a convenient location for public transport; but that means it's next to a busy main road, next to railway station, and a bus hub. Yes you may hear all the vehicles from your room.
Not too bad, cause i still managed to get a good shower and sleep. But for some people maybe that's a concern.
Service was fine, staff were attentive and i never open the door myself at lobby cause there's always staff greeting me.
Elite appreciation for Marriott member was good.
Oh the pool, not big but 1.5m depth so I like it. Pool water not too cold, perhaps it's slightly heated.
I wasn't highly impressed overall but at least i wasn't disappointed. The pool could be the reason for me coming back.

Booked for 2 nights just before the New Year's Eve with the special package deal for Marriott Bonvoy members which comes with 24-hour stay and bonus 2000 points per night..which is great value for the price paid.
Arrived the hotel at 6pm and was greeted by the friendly Filipino front office staff (Sorry, forgot the name). He was welcoming and friendly, we even chat abit which was a nice gesture. He further acknowledged the 24 hour stay package, where I was informed i could check out by 6pm as part of the deal.
On the departure day, i received a call at around 1pm asking about my check out time and advised that I'm supposed to check out by now, as they're expecting a lot of arrivals today. Then I have to explain the whole thing, then only she realized that there's a note regarding the 6pm check out..which then only she apologized.
Perhaps the staff could be more vigilant when dealing with special cases guests as such my case..otherwise it's a good deal overall.

In the 35 years that we stay in hotels we never had such a bad hotel in our experience. First of all we couldnt call room service 24 hours for food n beverages. then we could not get in touch with housekeeping if we need something. On the hotelphone just was one button the 0 to get in touch with the operator or reception to order food or ironing or steaming which is very weird.
Then it takes sometimes more then half an hour to get in touch with the reception. Never had this weird thing in my whole life. Fortunately there was a cafe bar which had sandwiches or some soup or chicken as warm food but then also no button on the phone to call there.
In normal hotels a phone has a serial of number buttons to call each department to call. Not this hotel. Got a headache from this n stress. We were guests on a filmfestival n believed this is the JW Mariott hotel which we are used to 5 stars hotel but looking this hotel its just 3 stars i think. Very poor.
Other strange thing is we were the only guests on the 16th floor so the rest of all rooms were empty. Like a ghost town.
Usually I stay in Hilton Double Tree hotel in Kuala Lumpur or different hotels but a next time we never want to return to this hotel. ALso if you see the area where this hotel is located its not really luxury but a poor area.
The hospitality service of the festival was great and amazing. They helped us a lot if they were not there than i would have moved from this strange hotel already. The problem is Im heartpatient with AF Atrium Fibrillation and heartfailure of 50% moving of my left ventricle so this hotel didn't help to support my heartproblem.
The man of the cafe bar was great with his up n down walking service also the hanif cleaning guy of the housekeeping was very helpful cleaning the room after 17.00 and the chinese lady of the reception. Thanks you so much for your kind help. Without you it was more bad then it was.

14/10/2022 Room 912
Was having a meeting the next day, just booked the hotel nearby. Shell we get started...
The hotel previously was under others management, was taken over by Marriott by 2018/2019 somewhere. Due to pandemic was closed for almost 2years plus...n just reopened lately June / July 2022.
Parking:
There's a MYR$10.00 for in-house guess 24hours, multiple enters. Parking lots is at basement. Don't thinking parking on road side. As there's a busy seafood restaurant just across the street.
Lobby:
Lobby wise is nice, clean and bright. Doorman is very good doing his job, he might not be local but he is well trained. Front office reception (male chinese, small size) is very good handling check in and out, even I check in at 5pm, his the only person reception I could see. The only small issue is I saw some customer sitting with they barefoot up on the sofa.
Room:
Nothing much to shout about, nothing much for the views, nothing special about the room, nothing about the washroom, a bigger TV set would be perfect. Bed is OK not too hard not too soft.
Swimming pool:
There a kids swimming pool comes along. The adult pool is consider oklah... But is very clean.
Breakfast:
Sorry I did not takes the breakfast package, so I totally do not have any ideas how was it.
Overall:
The building is been over 20 years, some parts of it really needs some upgrade.
There's a seafood restaurant (Hakkido Seafood) just walking distance 3 min.
Night time would be crowded over there.

This was my inaugural experience at AC Kuala Lumpur, and I'm already looking forward to returning in the future! I'm pleasantly surprised by my decision to stay at this hotel for the entirety of my trip. The recently renovated rooms are fantastic, and having access to amenities like the gym and a small swimming pool with basic facilities adds to the convenience. Plus, the location couldn't be better – just a brief stroll of less than 5 minutes to the Titiwangsa Monorail & LRT station. It's incredibly convenient and highly recommended.
I'd like to extend my gratitude to Ms. Leah and Ms. Nawja for their exceptional care throughout my stay – they were incredibly efficient and kind. And a big thank you to KC TAN, the intern in the kitchen, for his outstanding egg preparation skills and attentive service.
Asif in the AC kitchen deserves special mention for his boundless energy, hard work, and attentive service during breakfast. He handles everything with professionalism and seems to intuitively understand guests' preferences. I'm truly impressed. Additionally, Ali's efforts in managing the breakfast area were commendable – it's truly an amazing team!
A heartfelt thanks to Jabed for consistently ensuring my room was clean and comfortable – I genuinely appreciate his efforts.
Regarding the parking situation, it's worth noting that there's a fixed rate of RM10 for 24 hours of parking. I hope the hotel considers making it complimentary for Titanium Elite members, similar to what JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur offers. Public parking is an option, but it's somewhat reliant on luck.
As for suggestions for improvement, I recommend the management consider installing racks in the bathroom shower area so guests can hang their facial creams or personal shampoo, as placing them on the floor is inconvenient.
I'd also like to highlight the AC lounge's offering of special Spanish dishes – definitely worth trying!
Additionally, I would like to address the room access card system, which appears to be outdated and in need of improvement.
Lastly, the breakfast provided was simple, easy, and I encountered no issues. And the door bell and security man are amazing!

Exactly like the one we visited in Kuantan. Previously known as Vistana Hotels, they were rebranded into AC Hotels.
I think this would be the easiest review we’ve ever done. The property faired exactly like the one we went in Kuantan. The branding of the property feels like is being done and abandoned half way through. The public spaces were done perfectly which is a reflection of the AC Hotels brand. But when it comes to the room, it is hard to enjoy the whole experience.
The pros
I love the fact that the staffs here genuinely do take the effort in getting to know their guest. A plus point for them!
There is a club lounge at the property, however we didn’t get to check it out during our trip.
For those who are looking to do a mattress run, this property totally make sense. On average the rates are around US$34/night.
Elite recognition was good, the service was good and prompt. Friendly staffs, and it is quite convenient getting around the city as public transportation is just a 3 minutes walk from the hotel.
We would rate this property 4.5/10 on the whole.

If you are elite with platinum or titanium above status with Marriott, you really cannot find a reason to come staying here as the elite recognition here is almost zero since they do not have a better room, not even a suite though they are quite friendly during the check in.
If you are on a budget then this may be one of the properties you may consider under big hotel chain (Marriott). Though we all know YTL owned most of the hotel under Marriott.

Being a Marriott Lifetime Elite member, can advise that this hotel is not up to the expected Marriott standards for an AC Hotel, the room was in desperate need of a renovation and needed the noisy air conditioning unit replaced, bed was uncomfortable and had a restless sleep as a result, the fitness facilities are not well kept or maintained. The club lounge was closed and the dinner I ordered from the restaurant was not properly cooked. Too many things went wrong, so I found it necessary to shorten my stay at this hotel and checked out early after the first night. The only positives I can mention is that the staff had empathy for the situation and apologized, also quickly organizing an early check out, the buffet breakfast was okay on the morning I left.

Booked a few nights here because I needed a place to stay as I was attending an event at a nearby location.
Staff are very helpful and accommodating. Checkin was swift and my room was already available by 1pm. Room was clean, although you can tell some of the furnitures are a bit outdated. If I'm not mistaken, this was an old hotel acquired by Marriott, maybe they need to do some updating in the rooms too. My other issue was the key card doesn't always work with the elevator.
Breakfast spread is simple, not much variation on the days that I stayed, but I think it will suffice.
The hotel is basically beside the Pekeliling Bus station, where you can take free buses to different spots in KL, and walking distance to Titiwangsa LRT and Monorail. It's a good transit hotel for those travelers who need a night or two for rest.
