The all new ZigZag Travellers Home (Formerly known as Marquee Guest Houzz) is a place to meet, exchange travel stories and "do the local" with travellers from all over the world. The property is located beside the historic arts and crafts building named Central Market nearby Chinatown, Petaling Street and KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur. We offer clean, comfortable, cheap and modern lodging facilities. Pretty much like every other traveller who dreams of opening a hostel, this place was opened the same way. We know exactly what backpackers and global nomads need when they’re roaming around the world and now, we want to open our doors to everyone, to offer that same local experience and share the best of what Malaysia can offer – the melting pot of exuberant culture, warm and friendly people and food, glorious food! That’s the ZigZag experience. So, do step through our doors for a tantalising taste of the true Malaysia. Selamat datang!
To say that I am upset is not enough. I discovered this hostel back in 2018 and since that time I came often untill 2019. I retourned after Covid and everything was so different. Dorm rooms are not maintained at all, before each bed had its own curtain. In my room there was always water on the floor (from upstairs toilets) and on the upper beds (see pic). Toilet and showers are littéralement destroyed (you should close for a week and call good plumbers, listen to me). The common "kitchen" on the balcony is so dirty that I couldn't stay there more than 5 minutes: sofas are disgusting, there is only a fan, sockets are not working, TV is there for nothing, the floor has so many holes and nobody is cleaning properly. Staff is nice and welcoming, the two bengali receptionists are really good and skilled workers (but.. aren't they working too much? 12+ hours per day?). I definitely won't come back and won't let my friends sleep in here.…

I enjoyed my stay at ZigZag hostel. I spent numerous night in different typology of rooms: all of them are comfortable and quiet, common toilets are various and fully equipped. The common terrace gives you a nice view over KL and is equipped with fridge, coffee maker, sink, microwave and mini grill oven. Seats and fans are there as well. I will come again!

I stayed for two nights and I enjoyed my stay. The location is just superb, there are many attractions nearby, the one that’s the closest is the Central Market. The supermarket is just down below the hostel and there’s a restaurant a few walks away. The room rate is cheap, it’s affordable for a college student like me. The room is clean, the bed is comfy, and there are a plug and a lamp by my bed. The stuff is nice, especially the Indian girl at the receptionist who welcomed me with a smile. I’ll surely stay here again when I’m in KL😄

I've booked for one night while transit at malaysia but the service is good and the bunked is clean enough. Comfortable to transit as a solo traveler. Near the station and many beautiful places, only 3km to reach petronas twin tower.

We enjoyed our stay at zig zag for multiple reasons. After much consideration and comparisons of the adjacent hostels, zig zag was superior in terms of price & cleanliness. The location cannot get more central than this. Everything and everywhere is either a stone throw away, otherwise easily accessible via multiple means of public transportations to choose from. The dorms were clean. Staffs were friendly and attended to our needs. Breakfast was simple but considering the price we paid, it kept us full! There is a nice balcony to relax and unwind with a cold beer after a hectic day of travelling. Highly recommended & would come back!

ZigZag is located strategically in KL town. Next to Central Market and China Town. Making it easy for us to travel around either by walking or by a bus from the bus stop nearby. The place was comfy and the host and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed my 3 nights stay there. And the price was worth every penny. Would definitely stay at ZigZag again.

They say in other websites that provide complementary breakfast...its literally just a piece of toast lol. Nothing more. Bathrooms are always smelling very badly of urine. But nice staff and good to stay if you are REALLY on a tight budget.

It was very nice hostel. Located in the Chinatown, close to the public transport and with friendly staff, it's good choice for budget travellers. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were always wet and there was no toilet paper. Breakfast was very basic, but it's like this in every hostel in Malaysia I have been to.
