Brisdale is one in malay who have bad service, at the time when there is room attendant who will tidy the room, she was doing very badly and far away from the friendly service, then the receptionist was also very unfriendly, that time when I out of the room, I forgot to bring the key to his room, so at that point my friend and I could not enter our room, and I asked for help to his receptionist but we actually scolded

I stayed one night on 30 December, 2012. It is an old hotel with renovation plans soon in the pipeline. I would reckon it would be a good hotel for backpackers who know how to find the best deals and weave their way to places they want to visit.
It is centrally located in the biggest Night Market area in one of the "slum heart" of Kuala Lumpur and virtually stifled by the busy activities of surrounding stalls which sell unimaginable variety of foods and goods for bargain prices throughout the night until early morning for cheaper income customers.
Many Muslims patronise this hotel. I would reckon it would be an ideal hotel for lower income travellers mainly from Asian countries owing to it's similar surroundings.
The service at the reception was good.
I paid RM 165 for a standard room. I would pay about RM 70 for this type of old room given a choice. You can get a better deal in other newer hotels in Kuala Lumpur, the city being one of the cheapest place in the world for hotel packages !

Through Booking.com we booked this hotel considering price and accommodation for 4 nights, the pictures on the web mislead us.

We checked in on 28th July 2014 at 5-30 pm, there was no person at the door or reception. After few while, one person came in and did check in formalities. We went the room at 17th floor, no WiFi, electric switch board is broken, AC was not functioning, dirty toilet, smell from tap water. We left for searching new place and decided to stay at hotel Istana. We back to Brisdale around 11-45 pm and informed the Lady receptionist that Electronic door key is not working. She replied to deposit full amount and then let us get into the room. We told her that at this night if you push us to stay outside, then we must lodge complain to Police. She said they have also their security and really she called one fat guy [security]. We told her that it is international rule to pay at the time of check out and you have our card number. After half an hour argument she let us get into the room. At the middle of night we heard some noise beside our room and there is a door between two rooms, we were worried that somebody may break the door and get into our room. At that night there were no other border at that floor, we could not sleep through out the night [worried about that argument]. It was horrifying. It seems to us that only 10% room is booked and rest vacant.

Other most important thing is the hotel is in such a place at Chowkit, that the surrounding roads are dirty and you can't walk.

Before booking through web I would suggest all to go through the reviews and please don't choose this hotel, it will make you complete disappointed.

First of all, this hotel may have 5-star location BUT the feeling of security is definitely absent. The door latch was practically non-existent and on top of that, the door could not be locked. That meant anyone with the access card to our room could get in. So, there was this incident that even after the room was tidied, one person of the housekeeping team just opened the door to my room. Were it not for my presence at that moment, who knew what would have happened.
Second, the first night we turned in, within minutes we could already felt itchiness on our legs. What was the cause? Bedbugs!! We asked for a change of rooms but it was only after 3 nights that we moved from the dingy 8th floor to the revamped 15th floor. And that was also because the situation took a bad turn; the ceiling above the table was leaking!! And the whole table along with our belongings was wet. However, luckily, the electric cables were unscathed.
Enough with the facilities. The service was equally bad as well. The housekeeper did not understand the meaning of the 'Do Not Disturb' sign and cleaned our rooms. How in the world can this happen? Besides that, on the day of the leakage, applause to the housekeeper who dried the wet area but a big big boo to the reception. The incident happened at 10.30 am after which we returned to our course at the hotel ballroom when the receptionist assured us that we could get the keys to our hotel room at 1pm. HOWEVER, when we approached them(the receptionist was playing with her phone) at 1pm they told us to wait another 15 minutes again. What the heck have they been doing for the past 2 and a half hours? My goodness...and the facial expression when they gave us the keys was of utter indifference and rudeness.
To top that off, after a climatic high upon reaching our new room, our expectations really hit rock bottom when we realised the new sink also leaked!

The worst hotel I ever stayed and I fully recommend to others not to stay in this hotel. The room is to old and dirty. It feels like you are staying in a Rumah Tumpangan, not a 3 stars hotel as they claim. The staff was not friendly especially the Bangladesh guy in the car park counter. My conclusion, I would not recommend it to others unless they upgrade their hotel rooms and their services.

The photos of the hotel looked great, room, dinning area etc but getting there it was a surprise. The rooms are not maintained well and the services were not great. The bathroom looked as if it has not been cleaned, with mildew on the chalking. The chest knobs were falling apart, the shades broken. It is close to local food stalls so if you enjoy local food, this is a good spot to stay. Walking distance to banks.

It's not clean, found rat dropping in the bedding, the bath look as if it was never been cleaned from the first day it was installed. The room was filthy with dust, the only thing was done in the room while we stayed there was the bed. Its not worth any stars. The area it was in was not a safe or friendly. Not worth the money.

We booked this hotel for the cost more than anything, and I know the saying goes that 'you get what you pay for' but after reading through some of the reviews on here we decided to go for it as it was for only one evening when we arrived late into KL for our connecting flight to Australia the following day.

On arrival into KL airport we decided to get a taxi to the hotel, so at the dedicated taxi desk within the airport, we requested a taxi to the Brisdale hotel, but the lady on the counter had trouble understanding where or what hotel I was talking about, as did the taxi driver! Not a great start!

After around a 45/50 min taxi ride into KL city, we were taking it all in, bright lights, expensive hotels, bars and restaurants but the taxi driver continued to drive through all this and dropped us off at the Brisdale hotel which is situated in the middle of a over crowded, night market. When leaving the taxi at the hotel, the taxi driver advised us to 'be careful', not the best thing to hear when you've got the worst felling inside.

Upon check-in the reception had many local people sitting around chatting in the doorway. The staff were very unfriendly, very unhelpful and not very tidy looking. From the general look of this hotel I was not expecting anything for customer service.

On our way to the room there were men and women going in and out of the lifts, ladies of the night shall we say.

Upon entering our room we literally done a 360 degree turn and left again. It was possibly the worst room I have EVER seen. The lock was hanging of the door, the toilet and bathroom looked contaminated and the bed sheets from only a glance looked grey and dirty.

We asked the hotel receptionist would she call us a taxi as we could not stay at the hotel, her first response was that I would not be entitled for a refund and she could not arrange a taxi for us, leaving us to walk through the night market at around 11pm to look for our own taxi.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever had to witness ang would urge you to stay elsewhere.
