My fiancé and I wanted to find a venue that would allow our dogs to be a part of our big day. When we started to look around we went from venue to venue and every venue was the same! They would tell us we had the location for 8 hours total and our dogs could only stay outside. could not wrap my head around spending thousands of dollars and a place you get for a day! We finally found the Hawkestene and we stopped looking. This venue is not like any other venue I ever seen before. First, it is a 3 day weekend event that can house over 70 friends and family and second our dogs could be with us the entire time. I was sold after we took a trip to the NC mountains and actually saw the gorgeous venue. WE fell in love with this place right away. IT WAS PERFECT. We finally got married in OCT 2020 and from the minute we showed up on property till the second before we left the staff was amazing. I do not think we could have made it through the planning or the day with out Jami. She is an actual miracle worker! The entire staff was incredible. They made us feel like family, everyone was so welcoming and accommodating to everything we asked. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything tasted like a home cooked meal. My family and friends are still talking about it and I cannot tell you how many people told me this was truly the best wedding they have ever attended. It is a vacation, family/friends reunion and wedding spot all wrapped into one! To any bride or groom out there that is looking for a unique and stunning location Hawkesdene is it.

Our wedding at Hawkesdene was the happiest time with friends and family I have ever spent. Their set up is unique in that you rent out the entire estate for a weekend or longer with your guests and spend the weekend with them before the ceremony; It was so much fun because the location and food is absolutely awesome and it gives you more time to enjoy your time with everyone and takes pressure off of you at the reception. The location is gorgeous nestled into the mountains, amazing spots for pictures, fun hiking trails for the guests, and the staff was so flexible and accommodating to every thing we needed or wanted over the weekend. 12/10 DEFINITELY recommend. We want to convince friends to get married here so we can have an excuse to come back.

We absolutely loved our visit! We were able to share a special trip with all our aunts, uncles, cousins, their kids, and our sisters and brothers! We see each other a few times a year but it always feels rushed, and somewhat disconnected when people are staying in different places. At Hawkesdene, we had plenty of space to bring everyone together, or to break off into smaller groups. The cottages were far enough away to make you feel like there was nobody else around, but yet close enough that you could visit with anyone in just a few minutes. Everything was comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. Love is in the details, and quite honestly the details on the property are impressive. The affinity for art was everywhere, which created an even more colorful and beautiful environment. This may sound a bit strange but the landscape and lighting placement, along with foot bridges, rock paths/stairs, made everything so accessible, yet secluded, and looked like it was meant to be there. I even visited the playhouse on the other side of the creek! We were especially grateful for the game room down stairs, which gave the kids stuff to do and completely kept them entertained!

Some great touches…umbrellas at the back door, walking sticks, wood being stacked every day, gel fire packs (who knew that was a thing), embroidered “H” on bedding, laundry detergent in glass containers in laundry rooms, heating on various porches, s’mores, hand sanitizer, llamas & alpacas…with hand sanitizer too, blankets in the pavilion, hammocks in beautiful spots, and Hawkesdene corn hole boards.

Last but not least, the food and catering folks. Two words…HONEY BUTTER….OMG! You guys rocked! Our foodie group is not easy to please…which is putting it nicely! We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers, meals and desserts. There was a great deal of pride taken in creating great food for us, and it showed. We had full bellies all the time and joked that all we did was eat, eat, and eat some more! Offering gluten free was a nice touch too! You guys worked so hard to put out consistently good meals, and clean it all up, to do all over again!

We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the mountains and reconnect with loved ones!

My husband and I were searching last-minute for a 3 night getaway in the mountains and so happy we found Hawksdene! The grounds are breathtaking, tranquil and beautifully landscaped, we felt a sense of peace as soon as we entered the gates to the estate. We rented the Appletree Cottage, which has every amenity. We were able to rent an individual cottage because there was no wedding scheduled that week, during our visit we met a young couple who will be married at Hawksdene in 2021. We would highly recommend Hawksdene for a wedding/reunion, the main house and grounds are so beautiful, including hikes within the estate. Rob was very helpful and promptly answered all our questions. Hope to return to Hawksdene again!

We had an unforgettable wedding weekend at Hawkesdene in June 2023 and the prior year planning and leading up to the event.

The planning and coordination provided by Jami and Elizabeth was top-notch. Not a single detail was forgotten, and they raised many ideas throughout the planning process to make our wedding special and enjoyable. Just a couple examples: we had a unity ceremony where we poured glass beads during the wedding, and they neatly packaged it up with the USPS address and everything; they re-boxed all our extra alcohol and left it by a car pickup for our Sunday departure; and, they accommodated a slightly different chair for our mothers at the ceremony (just because our moms wanted them :)). Moreover, if you're looking to plan a wedding where you don't have 1,000 complicated decisions to coordinate and become the logistical master of, Hawkesdene is set up to accommodate a nice balance of choosing vendors but letting the venue planners execute.

The venue itself was gorgeous, with well-maintained grounds, inviting cottages and a clean environment across every space. We did get lucky with beautiful weather, as well.

The food was just as others have noted: extraordinary. Importantly, it was always right on schedule, leaving guests to want for nothing. They allowed us to customize each meal and prepared it exactly correctly. Yum, we are salivating just writing this. Also, having available snacks (m&ms, fruit, bars) 24/7 in the main house was a great lift for guests who brought little ones.

We were able to bring 8 dogs across our guests, and the large outdoor spaces allowed that to happen with no issues! Having our own pup there for the wedding took stress away from the weekend planning.

Throughout the weekend, many of our 65 guests came up to us and shared that the combination of the venue, the environment, and the planning led this to being the best wedding they've ever attended. Of course, many folks talked of either having their wedding or reunion at Hawkesdene in the future, and if that opportunity arises I'm sure we'll be blocking out their schedule in the future!

From the minute we arrived it was more than we expected. the property was impeccable, well maintained and pristine. We wanted to hike And the property provides three amazing trails just steps from your cabin.
We have stayed at many b&b before but this one wasn’t missing a thing, it was fully outfitted from the kitchen to the quality linens.
The patios were spacious with amazing views. The best part, it was so clean and relaxing.
Zip lines, white water rafting and fishing all close to property. We also visited Harrahs Casino and wanted to thank them for paying for our trip. “We got lucky”
I usually don’t write reviews but felt this experience was worthy. We flew into Asheville so easily accessible.

Enjoy your time there.

We loved our stay at Hawkesdene! With Covid, the owners were gracious to allow us to just rent one cabin for a Thanksgiving family trip. We spent the mornings drinking coffee and visiting the llamas with the kids. Then we’d pack lunch and hike the awesome trails on the property ending each with a beer at the Hawkes Nest.

In the afternoons we’d build a fire, read and just relax around the estate. I see why so many have left amazing reviews for weddings and large group events; the property is perfect. The cabins are well appointed with everything we needed to cook large meals.

Thank you for accommodating us this year! It was a Thanksgiving our family will always cherish!

We had our wedding weekend at Hawkesdene in October 2021. Everything was magnificent: the food, the staff, the atmosphere, it was a perfect weekend with all of our friends and family. Everyone enjoyed it so much, that we have had every wedding guest ask us how we can plan another trip there. We booked in August of 2020, and even through everything happening with COVID-19 the staff at Hawkesdene took impeccable care of us. We hope to visit them all again soon! Thank you Hawkesdene and Jami for all you do!

The Main House was so beautiful, clean, most friendly staff, the property is fabulous, and each guest got there own cabin with a wonderful screened in front porch with a swing and rocking chairs. The even had a game room in the main house for those who love to play pool or ping pong. Breakfast, lunch, and diner were all wonderful and everything was freshly made each day. Got to meet the owner very friendly and keeps the place clean and beautiful. They even had Alpacas on the properly. Fire place inside and outside, fire pits, and so much more! Check out there website.

My husband and I went to visit this venue in December of 2022 and immediately fell in love with it. We booked it right after we got engaged and looked forward to the wedding for over a year. Jami and Shannon and their teams were incredible. They helped us through every meal plan, answered every question, and helped with every detail from start to finish. They set the tables beautifully, and when we asked them to make card tables and a painting table for us, they set up the tables more beautifully than we even envisioned.

Throughout the whole weekend, staff was constantly keeping the property clean. We had roughly 120 guests on the property throughout the day, and had people sleeping on every sleeper sofa. Despite filling the property, every single person said they were so comfortable and had so much fun.

We played volleyball, kickball, cornhole, and hiked on the property. When I wanted to do yoga, Jami even pulled out spare yoga mats the venue had!

When it was going to rain through the ceremony, Jami had the radar open and quickly presented me and my husband options. She was so quick to help us make a new plan and also rally everyone when we had to make another change quick and get married before any storm started. Luckily, the storm missed us, the rain cooled us down, and everyone celebrated into the night.

My husband and I love spending time with our family and friends and this was everything we wanted and more. We found that even with 4 days on the property, we didn’t spend enough time with each and every guest, and we couldn’t imagine having a shorter wedding or having a different venue.

The night of the wedding, after everyone went to sleep, my fiance and I walked the driveway where we got married and took in the tree canopy and the stars. It is incredible that Rob and his partner dreamt this place up and brought it to the world to share with all of us.

This was a little scatter-brained, but the long story short is that this place is beautiful and dreamy, that Rob, Jami, Shannon and the staff thought of every detail and were incredible, and that I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else after this perfect weekend.

We flew in to Atlanta, which seemed easiest. Then we hit epic traffic. Epic. And I'm from Chicago too, so I know epic. The Dan Ryan has nothing on this. 4 hours later we were there. But Hawksedene was completely worth it.
