We seen the video of cabin 7 and made a reservation, as we got there, the office is far away, you have to walk down a long pathway through the boat dock to get to the office, if you have breathing problems, (which my husband has C.O.P.D.) this is hard to do, the office needs to be when you first come into the marina, for check in, they have a small cabin when you first come into the marina which belongs to is the maids, housecleaning supplies inside, this should be where you check in. Cabins wasn't quite like the video, this video must have been made when the cabin was first built. video showed really nice deck, not all like the video, deck nails some were sticking up, needed to be nailed down, old deck, needed to be painted and repaired, my husband was walking bare foot and caught his foot on one, some of the boards was starting to come up. There was poison sumac growing up one of the corners of the deck post, they need someone to spray and around plants, you could see the poison sumac around some of the plants and roses, really taking over. Video showed french doors in bedroom, no french doors, took them out, board covering up where they had been, really tacky. No couch, 2 full size beds and chair. Blind, some of the slacks were missing and broken, curtains on door needed replaced, In the bathroom, was really nice, 2 sinks, nice shower and bathtub, but in the video showed a rug, there was no rug, as you step out of the shower, you have to step down, very slippery, dangerous, could slip and fall, have to be VERY CAREFUL, needs a rug there to prevent a bad fall. The parking lot seem to be full most of the time, people who had houseboats would park in the spaces and couldn't get to park next to your cabin, need to have reserved parking spaces in front of your cabin for the ones who rent there cabins have a place to park and you don't have to park a half mile away. Also boat dock, we was suppose to have a space near our cabin, our space we had for our boat was 3 boat docks over, we had to load our things we wanted to take to boat everyday to the truck and drive over to the boat dock, very inconvenient. Cabin 7 does have a beautiful view, overlooking the boats and the water and you can hear the music on the weekend was nice. For the price they charged, every thing should be just like there video, and keep the cabins updated.

Made our reservations for four nights in cabin number 1. According to the staff we were the first guests in cabin 1 this year and the back deck had been finished the day before our arrival. Check in went just fine, given our keys and the location to dock our boat for our stay. Very friendly staff during our entire stay. There is no heat in the cabin and the staff left us three space heaters as the first night got down to 40 degress. The cabin is a small 2 bedroom with one very small bathroom. The cabin was clean and smelled fresh. The kitchen is stocked with one pan, no eggs and sausage both cooking at the same time, three plates, three cups, the bare minimum of everything. I don't vacation to watch TV but this was final four NCAA basketball weekend so I made sure we booked a place with TV. Got to room, TV not working. Told staff on Saturday afternoon TV not working, need TV for games tonight. TV not fixed on Saturday. Stopped by office on Sunday and said no TV, need TV fixed. Told he would work on the TV issue. TV not fixed. Office again on Monday, NCAA finals tonight, really need our TV. We are paying for TV. 160 a night is not Motel 6 prices. Told they would fix, not fixed on Monday, no game for me. Tuesday they sent the young man that fills up the boats with fuel. He could not fix the TV and stated the TV in cabin 2 doesn't even come on so at least your TV comes on just no channels. We never had a working TV during our stay, so beware. Internet worked as long as guests in Cabin 2 aren't on at the same time. Verizon phone never worked in cabin or on the property. Not their fault, just beware. Internet was hit or miss the entire stay. We come back to our cabin on Tuesday afternoon and there is an SUV and boat trailer parked in all four parking places for our cabin. This would be the place we would park to make loading our car easier in the morning for check out. I go to the office and ask who owns the veh and trailer parked in front of our cabin. They answer they don't know but it's rude of them to take up all your parking.....u think......For safety reasons the resort should know what vehicles belong to who and how to contact the owners if needed. They put a "you are parked rudely" note on the vehicle but shocking, the vehicle was still parked in front of OUR rented cabin the next morning adding to my daily step total so thanks for that !!. The property is beautiful, the folks our friendly. There are positives but I felt that we did not get what we paid for. Other places on the lake, will check them out next time.

I rented a houseboat for 3 nights from Mitchell Creek Marina. The boat was clean and everything worked as it should. The crew filled the two included coolers full with ice which housed our frosty beverages. We arrived at 1:00pm the day of our pick up and were told the boat was ready and we could leave anytime. After a greasy satisfying lunch at the restaurant, the dock hands helped us pull away from the dock and away we went. Dale Hollow Lake is beautiful with endless shoreline and coves to explore. Only complaint about the whole experience are the mixed messages I received from the staff when I had specific questions about the boat. Once I got a hold of the manager Brittney, all was well. Would highly recommend, considering making this an annual trip.

This place is wonderful. Great boat rentals. Great cabins and easy to find. This is one of our country’s best lakes. Everyone was easy to talk to. They will make sure you know what you are doing when leave to have fun on the lake.

Very nice and HELPFUL people. After my mom and I tried several times getting out boat off the trailer, I went to get help at the Marina. Kennedy and the young man in the ball cap where very helpful. They helped us get the boat off but also helped me drive the boat to the dock to get my mom. I can’t thank them enough! Thank you Mitchell Creek marina for a great time... made right by helpful AND nice employees!

My husband and I took all the kids and grandkids (13 in total) here for a week on the lake. We rented cabins 15 and 16. The cabins were clean and an enjoyable place to stay. The Marina staff was very accommodating and helpful. There were a couple of small things that needed fixed and they were done in a timely manner. We would definitely go back.

We booked a small cabin for a weekend retreat. The cabin was small but nice and was very clean but had a nasty smell, luckily I brought a scented candle. The furniture could be a little more comfortable but overall not bad since the beds were comfy. There was a partial snake skin hanging off the gutter which made me a little uneasy but I understand it is the woods. It would also be helpful to blow off the front patio and back deck. We had to pay $75 because we brought our dogs along and we swept the cabin out a lot because of all the debris on the patio that would be tracked in. We brought food for the whole weekend but decided we would eat at the marina restaurant on Saturday night. We went down to the restaurant around 6 pm, it looked busy but not swamped. We asked if we could eat outside since it was a nice evening and there were several open tables. The hostess/ our waitress made it seem like that was an inconvenience and would extend our wait time by another 30 minutes. We decided the inside booth was just fine since we did not want to wait any longer just because we had an outside table???? Once seated the rude hostess/waitress (red head) asked what we wanted to drink we both said water since it was a long day on the lake and we needed to re hydrate. She then asked if anyone had informed us that they were swamped and it would be at least 45 minutes to an hour before we would get any food. We told her that we were sitting inside because they told us it would be even longer if we sat outside. Never once were we told to call ahead for seating or to just call an order in. They also never asked if we were staying at the resort so maybe they could bring us our food or call us when it was ready or even offer an appetizer for the long wait. We decided to leave the place and go eat leftovers in our cabin. We blame the rude waitress who had a bad attitude from the start like we were just one more inconvenient customer. We live on the lake in Nashville and we both grew up on the lakes in east tn and have never felt like such an outsider. We eat out on the lakes all of the time and this is by far the worst experience we have had all thanks to one rude employee. We will be back to this lake but not to this marina due to the snobby nature of it. My husband asked if we could tie the boat up for the night on one of the 7 docks, we did not need a slip specifically just tie up at the end of slip. The employee said he wasn't sure if that was allowed and he would need to ask his manager. We told him what cabin we were staying in and he said he would drive over to us and let us know, we never saw him again so we tied up wherever we wanted anyways! He also informed us that we did not have to pay the launch fee since we rented a cabin, geez thanks for saving us $5 dollars after we spent $200 a night. So unless you are a regular or spent a lot of money on renting a houseboat you don't exactly get the best customer service.

There are 2 reasons I didn't give this resort a 5. First, the cabin was not as clean as it should have been. Second, is the price. I paid half as much for a bigger cabin in the mountains. It is a nice place to stay, including our cabin, and you couldn't ask for a prettier setting. We were in cabin 14, we rented the whole thing so we would have room for our entire family (6 adults and 3 children). I don't think we would have enjoyed having another family either above or below us either.

Another year has gone buy! Stayed over the Labor Day holiday and had perfect weather!! Stayed in Cabin 3. This was our first time in this cabin as we had brought family with us this time. Power was out in half the cabin when we arrived but that was quickly fixed. Of course it had to be on the side with the fridge. It is what it is. Iced up the coolers until we could use the fridge. The cabin was as I imagined it would be based on the pictures. I could have done without the second bathroom. I know, crazy to say that right? But it was in bad shape and had a bad smell. The other bathroom was just fine and rather large for the space. Fully stocked with kitchen supplies. Flat screen TV. I recall reading on FB at some point this year that they were upgrading the WiFi. What I noticed on this first trip was the usual good during the day and not so much during the night. The only suggestion I would have is if they password locked each cabin. Since they now have it to where you gain access by specific cabins it should be only those specific cabins using it. You know there's people from other areas getting on to whichever wifi they can get on to. Maybe that would alleviate issues if it was password protected to only allow the persons in those cabins to use it. Just a thought. Had an issue with the boat slip. An employee not writing down a name for the slip. I was skeptical we wouldn't have any other issues but we didn't so that was good. My 3-year-old loves the playground! We usually go to Ollie's for a meal but it was so busy we just didn't have the opportunity this trip. Maybe next time. The weather was beautiful and the lake wasn't too busy so we got a lot of water time. Even went for a night stroll and the stars were amazing! Nothing like seeing that many stars sitting on the lake. If you haven't experienced this, you need to!!

We stayed in a Clean cabin with adequate furnishings for a vacation at the lake. We were disappointed that the "Splash Pad" was not open as advertised for children to enjoy. The beds were not comfortable, hard mattress and squeaky. Wi-Fi did not work.
