Average hotel showing its age. Price was the main attraction when booking. Hotel is located a ways from the interstate but would be great if you were going to the medical center. Breakfast was bad even by COVID world standards. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room decor was all dark brown and a little dreary.

This is right across from the medical center in Abilene, it was a nice quiet place to stay. After a long day on the road we just wanted to relax and this hotel was a great choice. I have been very pleased with Choice Hotels new updated design style and this hotel did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly, our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good also. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Good location for those needing to go to the hospital for procedures. The room was clean and bedding was comfortable. The vending machines only take cash, not card and there is no cash machine on site. Come prepared with your own drinks and snacks if you will be needing anything at all to drink as there is no complimentary water available besides tap and a small cup. It’s a 10 minute walk to the closest corner store which foes not stay open very late. There is no clothes bar or hangers for your clothes In the room, no extra pillows or blankets either. Breakfast is until 9:30 but you will find it closed up, lights off and door locked at precisely 9:31. The in room coffee leaves a lot to be desired. If you booked through a third party your room request such as two beds will not be met. However, if you call and book through them they will meet your bed request for two beds, or you can pay an extra $15-20 for two beds. It is unknown if they will meet or beat 3rd party prices via direct inquiry as the hotel claims, but definitely will not if you book through Priceline.

I have stayed at this hotel once a month for many years. Last month I stayed and I was one of maybe 10 people staying at the hotel. My room was not cleaned properly so I took clorox wipes and lysol and wiped and sprayed everything.
I had a long discussion with the manager who apologized. She asked what other hotels are doing to help protect against Covid. I explained and gave her several suggestions.
A month has gone by and I stayed again last night. My room was once again not cleaned properly. I cannot understand why they are not going overboard on cleaning and making sure every guest feels completely safe. These are obvious things like splatter on the mirror, a dirty floor around the toilet, stained towels, something that appears to be food on the faucet below the handle and a dirty desk.
I discussed and let the morning clerk know about the issues. She apologized but I explained that unfortunately that is not good enough and I would not be returning.
I cannot stress enough with everything going on with Covid19 that this hotel needs to up their game. There is no excuse for the rooms not being sparkling clean as well as offering hand sanitizer on every floor or at least in the elevator.
Another thing to note is that this is the most expensive Choice hotel in town.

Front desk person not masked, he said he’s following governor’s order. 🙄. The first room they gave us had something blocking door and we couldn’t enter. Had to stand in hall with luggage while they found us another room.
The bathroom wall is rotting, bed frame nasty. The laundry facility is disgusting, as is the dryer. Plus the dryer barely drys. Vending machine didn’t work right. Nothing but stickers around property so hard to walk the dog.
Worst Comfort Inn I have ever seen. The owner obviously cares nothing about this property.

Room/carpet smelled musty, makeup on hair dryer, Cheetos were all over the closet floor so I question whether my room was vacuumed. Highly embarrassing price I paid for quality of hotel, especially compared to more updated competitors. I always try to stay with Choice hotels but may need to start using other hotels, especially in the Abilene area.

Do not ever use this company! The front desk “manager” has no customer service abilities or integrity. He literally yelled at us over the phone, that we can’t cancel or alter a reservation; as we did not plan better for a death in the family.
This company cares nothing for its customers and just wants your money! Will never use this company ever again.

This stay was a disaster the bed was wet after thinking the sheets were just cold because of the air conditioner and disagreeing with my wife, I pulled back the sheets and yes there was a very large yellow wet spot on the mattress protector. This spot was in the middle of the bed and about the size of one of the pillows. After calling down to the front desk and complaining I was told that I could come down and get another room key. Again, great customer service as I had to get completely dressed and go down and get a key for another room. The new room to my surprise had a bed that was not wet! After checking the mattress and taking another shower my wife and I got to sleep around 1am. The next morning I went down to the front desk to complain and asked for a credit and the front desk manager agreed. After several 3-4 days I called because a credit had not yet been received on my credit card. I then spoke to Monica Iller the general manager, she told me "it take approximately 7-10 days for a credit to show up." We again waited and to our disgust we received an e mail from Capital One stating that the hotel would not be giving us a credit because "services were rendered at the time of service." I was and am completely appalled, I called Monica again and she was extremely rude and told me she never said I would get a credit she was just simply telling me that it takes 7-10 days for credits just as a policy not that we were getting a credit!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!? Huge integrity issue!! At this point I called Comfort Inn toll free # the customer service rep was also appalled at this issue and she put me on hold as she called the hotel. After waiting the customer service agent told me the she spoke to Monica Iller and she was disputing because "it was not urine it was some type of cleaner that is why no credit would be given." WOW just to play devils advocate let's say the large yellow wet spot in the middle of the bed was not urine but cleaner, IT WAS STILL VERY WET!!!!! Again this screams lack of integrity and customer service. I should have left when the first incident occurred but we had checked in very late after a volleyball tournament at Abilene Christian University and we were glad that the second room had a dry bed. Truth of the matter is this Comfort inn and this general manager, MoNica Iller, are places and people I will never deal with again and hope this will cause many other customers to reconsider this hotel. It is also across from the hospital and I feel terrible for the people who consider staying at this Comfort Inn because it is convenient to a family member or friend who is hospitalized. I do believe that the corporate office will get this resolved to my satisfaction but in my opinion this hotel should be kicked out of the Comfort Inn franchise and Monica Iller should not be employed there.

The Abilene Texas Comfort Inn & Suites has a bed bug problem. To make matters worse, instead of just taking care of the problem, they've spent a considerable amount of time and effort trying to deny and or cover up the aforementioned infestation. In my opinion, this is ludicrous. Had they tried to handled the situation properly, I would've at least respected the effort.
I got to the hotel really late, sometime after midnight, and subsequently went to bed around 2 in the morning. By 3:30 a.m., I was itching and had bumps and welts coming up all over my body. Having never been a victim of bed bugs before, I did not realize that's what it was. I had stayed at the Abilene Texas Comfort Inn & Suites a few weeks earlier and everything had been fine. When I inquired about the problems that I was experiencing, the staff told me it could be an allergic reaction to something used in the laundry process or even to their room cleaning supplies.
I had told Chere, the lady that I had come to town to work for, about the itching, bumps and welts. Her friend, who was also at the job site, told me it was probably bed bugs. At first, I had dismissed that possibility fairly quickly. Looking back, I know that sounds ignorant but, as I said above, I had no previous experience with bed bugs. Throughout the long work day, while I was away from the hotel, the itching grew less prevalent and the swelling / irritation around the welts and bumps lessened as well. That night, I was so tired that I went back to the hotel and went to bed. I awoke half way through the night with even more welts, bumps and itching problems.
Doing a quick internet search, it dawned on me that my boss's friend Rodney had been correct about my symptoms sounding like bed bug bites. After looking at several more sites, all of which were respected medical and government sites (not home spun conspiracy theory sites), I realized that there were a number of bed bug infestation warning signs present in my hotel room. I alerted the man at the front desk about the bed bug problem and he just laughed at me. Then, when I went to get plastic bags from the front desk, to place my luggage and other personal items in, so as to minimize the spread of said bed bugs, we argued.
Although the staff got defensive and nasty with me, as soon as I reported that the problem was bed bug related, I wasn't going to post anything about the experience. This was out of deference to Chere, the lady I was working for. She had actually booked the room for me because was good friends with the owners of the hotel. I've changed my mind because the hotel owners tried to convince Chere that there were no bed bugs and that it was just chiggers, from the field outback.
I knew it was definitely not chiggers. I spent a lot of time in the country as a kid and am well versed in the signs and symptoms of chigger bites. The bed bug bite descriptions and pictures on the internet, from the well-respected sites, were identical to what I was experiencing. Furthermore, the evidence I found in the room, including the very small apple seed looking bugs at the corner of the mattress, matched perfectly with the online descriptions and photographs. Anyway, I'm 100% sure that what I encountered, in that Abilene Texas Comfort Inn & Suites hotel room, was bed bugs!
