Quite honestly, if you need this review to decide whether you should stay here, you should stay elsewhere. You are in Alta for the skiing. GMD is a perfect low-key, straight-forward place to eat, sleep and hangout. The breakfast and dinner were very good. The room and bed were perfect for sleeping. The saloon was a comfortable place to hang...

I had a great first stay at the Goldminer's Daughter. This is a very simple lodge but it has everything you need for a ski trip. The exterior is a bit industrial looking while the inside is a classic rustic lodge style. I received room 222 and while the furniture looked original to the lodge, the bedding, carpets and towels...

Very friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner are included with the room and the food is excellent. Especially dinner. I really enjoyed sitting at the community dinner table making new friends and talking about the skiing. The rooms are nothing fancy. I would definitely stay hear again.

I would give this place 5 stars for the many, many great things about it...but it's not that kind of 5 star place and I wouldn't want a bunch of fancy people to get the wrong idea. It's 5 stars when it comes to service, good food, good attitude and location. It's in the perfect spot in Alta--right at the...

We stayed at Goldminer's a few days ago. This is the fourth year in a row that we have stayed there. So these comments represent cumulative impressions. Pros: Location, location, location. If you want to ski then it doesn't get any better. Just 20 yards to the lift and close to Salt Lake City and the airport. The food. Our...

I visited the Saloon in this lodge after skiing. Saloon was very attractive inside. Bar only served beer, though, and menu was limited to pizza and few appetizers. The two poor bartenders were responsible not just for the 8-10 seats at the bar, but also the entire dining area. This led to slow service and a lot of people elbowing...

Family vacation 2015. The location couldn't have been better as we were able to walk right to the Collins lift, after picking up our skis from the locker room in the lodge. There's a ski shop right in the building. Everyone working there is helpful and friendly. While the rooms are not fancy, they are comfortable, clean and cozy. The...

We are totally in love with Alta and GMD is the only place we can imagine staying. It is right near the Collins Lift, has delicious food, super comfy beds, the nicest staff you could ever imagine, and is truly a place for skiiers.

Fabulous location, good food, helpful and friendly staff. From check in to check out, everything was easy. Christmas eve buffet was a treat. Afternoon tea was substantial and perfect after a long ski day.

i have been staying in the goldminer's for the last 2 years ( 3 times in total) and it never proved me wrong. Being right at the bottom of the main chairlift Collins, it has a truly unbeatable location. Like most other hotels in Alta, dinner and breakfast is included in the price which definitely makes it very convenient since...
