The Barsen's (and their House Inn) were delightful and we enjoyed a lovely overnight stay. The house upstairs and down, was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. We had the upstairs room area to ourselves since no other guests had booked that evening. In the a.m. we walked around the property and enjoyed the views, greeting the chickens and taking in...

We stayed here on Sept.21, on our way to Montreal. The photos do not do justice to this beautiful, purpose-built B and B. Pete,a master woodworker, has used his talents to create much of the furniture and design elements of this retreat, a within walking distance to Lake Champlain. His wife, Daphne, has a green thumb extraordinaire- her gardens are...

This was my fifth time at the Barsen House and it's always a joy! Friendly, spotless, delicious breakfast. It's like coming to see good friends. It's perfect. The evening was warm enough that we could sit out on the patio and enjoy the lovely September evening. Can't wait to come back!

This was our 3rd summer to stay at Barsen House and we stayed for 3 nights. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated with Peter’s woodwork and metal work, as well as that of many other local artists. The breakfasts, which came from Daphne’s garden and chickens, was delicious and could not be beat. Of course, my children loved the...

After a long hot bike ride, it was heavenly to rest our weary bones on a comfortable patio overlooking magnificent gardens. The house is filled with artistic creations including the talented woodworker, Pete. Such originality! Our rooms were very spacious and homey. A refrigerator was available in the sitting room with wine glasses. Every comfort had been taken care of....

Hello Beechey family, I hope you made it safely back to Ontario after your lengthy bike trip. Peter and I so enjoyed your visit, although short, we feel as though we have new friends. I hope you enjoy the oatmeal pancakes as much as we do. They are great as leftovers with PB&J, one of our grandsons favorite treats. Could...

Barsen House Inn is a delightful B&B close to Lake Champlain, nestled between the Adirondacks and the Green mountains. The hosts, Daphne and Peter Jensen, were hospitable beyond anything I have experienced. Daphne's breakfasts were delicious, homemade often from fresh ingredients from her own garden. The extensive grounds and flower gardens are exquisite, inviting me to walk around many times,...

2 long time friends spent the night here recently and were completely charmed by this inn. The owners built it themselves decades ago , raised a family here, and now offer 3 rooms in the main part of the house. It is fascinating to see all the furniture made by the husband who is a woodworking master. Fun touches are...

Great place to get a good nights rest. Had stayed in a B & B that had a great deal of traffic noise and did not get much sleep. Sleeping at the Barsen house is quite and restful. Breakfast was made with fresh ingredients. Eggs from their own chickens and asparagus fresh from the garden.

We became "leaf peepers" this fall, and stayed with Peter and Daphne at the Barsen House Inn. I was totally taken with Daphne's garden, which is impressive, and her charming backyard chickens. My husband loved the fact that they had a fire pit outside, which was perfect for a fall evening. Peter's collection of works by Vermont artists is displayed...
