The owners, Rick and Susan, are top-notch and instantly made us feel right at home. We stayed in the cottage for 2 nights and would return without question. They are the kind of innkeepers that give you your privacy and space yet are available if you need them. Rick was very helpful with giving detailed information of the town regarding...

We were in the Abingdon/Damascus area for some hiking and bike riding on the Creeper Trail, researched a few area B&B's/cottages - decided to stay at 'A Tailor's Lodging' and I am very glad we did! We had the private cottage, a one bedroom/one bath with mini-kitchen and sitting room nestled under beautiful cherry trees. We were greeted by the...

My wife and I just spent the past weekend in Abingdon and stayed at The Black Dog Inn which is owned & operated by the same proprietors of A Tailor's Lodging. Both Inns were spectacular with "days gone past charm", super clean and walking distance to most everything you would want to do in this quaint little town, But what...

This is a charming old home with history in every nook and cranny. It is filled with beautiful antiques and period pieces in every room, so the ambiance is everywhere you look. However, there is a very modern kitchen you can use if you choose to do so, all rooms are fully air conditioned, and all the facilities/plumbing/electrical are upgraded...

My husband and I stayed in room 2 for four nights. Such a treat to have our room cleaned, bed made, fresh towels and chocolates on the pillow every day while we were out. A stones throw away from the Creeper Trail and Barter Theater. We did the trail twice while there. We walked to Zazzy'z for breakfast every morning...

Several friends and I had just done 17 miles on The Virginia Creeper Trail and we had booked this Bed & Breakfast for the night. Talk about historic! There were several couples in our group and all of us chose the room we wanted to stay in for the night. Every room was unique and different. There were so many...

Beautiful place. Stayed in the cabin shown in the picture. Very private and lovely and clean. One drawback...the train! Latest it went through was 11:30 p.m. Very loud and very close. The town was great, the host was great (Rick), and the restaurants and shops were great.

There are actually 2 establishments on this site run by the same couple - the other is Black Dog Inn, where we stayed. It is an historic home renovated and expanded with love and care by the owners. The owners are delightful and Rick is very happy to tell you about the Inn and make local recommendations! They live in...

Surprisingly luxurious for a reasonable price, with antiques and outdoor deck and garden. Excellent location at end of Virginia Creeper bike trail and near Barter Theatre and nice restaurants. Open kitchen but no prepared breakfast. Clean, comfortable, and convenient.
