We were visiting our daughter in Alexandria and chose this hotel for their convenient location next to the metro and short walk from Old Town. While those factors were important to us we had no idea of the exceptional service we would receive. We asked for a fan and firmer pillows and within hours were brought a floor fan and 4 firmer pillows - it looked like they just bought them! We also really appreciated the parking garage for our daughter when she dropped by to visit. Breakfast was delicious and having a Whole Foods and CVS across the street was very convenient for picking up drinks and snacks. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for posting a review. We are fortunate to be so close to the Metro and Old Town. It is always wonderful to read when we exceed expectations and I am glad this occurred for you. The team works hard to make this happen. Yes, to be within walking distance of many food and shopping options is a convenience many of our guests enjoy. Thank you again for the review and for staying with us. We look forward to your return! As always, I invite anyone reading my responses to contact me anytime. Happy travels - Kevin B. We stayed at this location in early/mid March for three nights. They are right across from the metro if you want to use that. King Street is just a short walk away and there are many fantastic restaurants nearby. The breakfast is good, but they need more people working. Those that are working are fantastic. Reception employees also great. I was disappointed that the hot tub was broken two of the three nights we were there. No explanation was given and nothing offered. Ice machine on the 5th and 6th floor was also broken, so we had to walk down two flights to get ice. When vacancy started to increase the variety of breakfast and reception items decreased, but the price of our room didn't decrease. If you need to use the sofa sleeper, verify you have a good one. Ours was really rough. No mention of honors status. They've got a great location and they are an embassy suites, but I think they could do better here.

Greetings Shegara0206 - Thank you for choosing our hotel and thank you for taking time to share feedback. I am pleased that you enjoyed the location and got to experience the friendliness of our team members. I apologize that there were some mechanical issues with the hot tub and ice machines that impacted your stay. The changes you experienced to breakfast were a result of the pandemic and the tightening of the safety measures and precautions being taken as we all faced the reality of a COVID-19 world. I hope that you will come back again and enjoy all the great features of the hotel and the area in the near future! With care, Tristan

I was in town for a workshop that was being held onsite. We received a special room rate because of the event which made it a no brainer to stay there. Being with a friend we didn't mind sharing the king size bed but there was an option of a pull out couch.
At first I was concerned about seeing large groups of children in town for sports and spring break trips but was delighted to see that our rooms were in a completely different section of the hotel so we were able to enjoy peaceful, quiet evenings. The breakfast was served for a long enough period of time that we were also able to eat in peace as well. No offense to the kiddos, I just don't have kids and am not used to being around them.
Our room was clean, roomy, and had a great view. Although we didn't go into DC the train was right outside of the hotel. The parking garage was connected to the hotel, well, lit and safe.

As a frequent traveler, Embassy Suites properties are one of my top choices for where I stay. This location does not meet even basic expectations of what you would expect from Hilton or the Embassy Suites brand. This stay started off rough from the very start - after navigating a narrow maze of a parking garage, I walked my bags down the stairs to where there was signage for “hotel elevator”. Worth noting here that there was no ramp to wheel a heavy suitcase down. After pressing the bottom for the elevator, I waited about five minutes before giving up. From there, I proceeded through a set of doors into the hotel where there was another elevator, which had a button for “guest rooms”. This elevator only takes you to the first guest room floor, where I found yet another elevator that I expected would take me to the rest of the guest room floors - again, I waited several minutes to no avail, at which point I called the hotel and asked if the elevators were out of service, to which the operator explained that I needed to go back down to the lobby level and go across the atrium to access the proper elevator. In hindsight, I should have realized that ES properties have elevators in the atrium, but without any signage, it sets guests up for a lot of inconvenience and confusion. Beyond that, I found two dirty/damp wash cloths in the bathtub - a call to housekeeping went unanswered, twice. While those were the two largest issues of my stay, the hallways were noisy throughout the night with other guests (sounded like a large family reunion/party, including an inebriated woman walking around with an open bottle of wine. The toilet in the room runs for about twenty minutes after being flushed, and seems to leak/sweat which causes a puddle on the tile which is a slipping hazard. Finally, while only a minor inconvenience, I had to go to two floors to find an operational ice machine. All of these things come together to lend to a pretty bad stay at what should be a top performing property.

Greetings RWB314 - Let me start by thanking you for traveling during these times. Next, I want to apologize that you did not find your stay up to Hilton standards. We pride ourselves on not only meeting but exceeding our guests expectations but it is clear we feel short in this instance. I will be taking your feedback to try and address signage and make finding the way around the property a more seamless process. I have shared the cleanliness opportunity with the team members involved for follow up and training purposes. I invite you to connect with me directly (tristan.harris@hilton.com) if you would like to discuss the opportunities further. I do hope you will afford us another chance in the future to provide the Hilton Class experience we pride ourselves on. With care, Tristan

I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member. This Embassy Suites was not on the level of the other Embassy Suites that I have stayed with. I'll start with the things I liked. A text message was sent prior to the stay to get an estimated arrival time. After checking in a text message was received asking for housekeeping options. Then another text is sent during the stay to see how your visit is going. All great ways to check in with us as guest. We reserved a 2bedroom suite, it had a mildew, old closet, old furniture smell throughout the room. The room is extremely dated with much needed updates. The shower fixture leaked which caused a decrease in shower pressure. We were on the 8th floor and for some reason no cell reception. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable, definitely not plush as expected. I entered my concerns on a text and the rep advised my room was an upgrade and larger than I booked by it being a corner room and asked if I would like to move. I declined because if the current room was an upgrade with the smell and old features then I was not willing to go down a level. There is a local train that is close and you may hear it from your room. My credit card has 2 pending charges for the hotel stay, neither of which is the final charges, definitely inconvenient.

Mask were required and being worn throughout the hotel. Breakfast was limited but that was expected. These are all of the "little things" that I would want to know prior to my visit.

I appreciate you pointing out the positives but am concerned with the cleanliness opportunities you reported. In this time we are working extra hard to ensure cleanliness and disinfection to protect both our guests and team members. Since your posting I have been able to use the inform to correct the opportunities in the room and use it for follow up and training purposes. This was a beautiful property. Room was clean. When we are traveling with our children, we really enjoy having the extra room to sit in while they sleep in. Since we only order take-out from restaurants, it was nice to have the table to eat at in the room. We also liked being able to walk to restaurants from the hotel.

Hand sanitizer stations were set up at each elevator bank and in the eating area. We especially liked having the option of a cheese omelet or eggs cooked to order. The breakfast potatoes were French fries which I thought was odd.

I really appreciated the online messaging with the General Manager during the check-in process. He was so responsive with my many questions.

We were there for less than 24 hours but would love to stay again the next time we have more time to explore Old Town Alexandria.

Parking is a nightmare that begins with the pull in that is set up for nonexistent valet parking. People are allowed to leave others completely blocked in while taking things to their rooms. Then, the parking lot is a nightmare of cubbyholes and poor organization. The reception desk was staffed with a person that should not be in customer service. Now, the room. The sheets were clean. That's it. Obvious items and food crumbs left behind by previous guests. The microwave was disgusting, the bathroom floor was gross. High touch surfaces were not clean. We asked for all of those things to be cleaned. They came in, made the beds, added towels, and sprayed something. NOTHING ELSE was taken care of, not even things we sent them photos about! I travel with room sanitizer which is the only reason we stayed. This place is big, and in a good location. However, it is just plain gross. AVOID!

Decided to take a long weekend trip after being subject to quarantine and the Embassy Suites Alexandria did not disappoint. I contacted the hotel in advance to find out what facilities were available and know what to expect. Unfortunately, the pool was closed, breakfast was limited and there was no evening reception. Housekeeping was only upon request which was fine by me. Despite this, we were able to get additional towels, soap, etc. when needed.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. Hand sanitizer was available, rooms were clean upon arrival and social distance markings were on the floor. The beds were comfortable.

The metro is right across the street, convent for getting to the airport and downtown DC. It was about a 20 minute walk to the waterfront. There is a Whole Foods nearby as well as a Panera and Dunkin Donuts.

Hope to be back when full services are able to be restored.

My family and I enjoyed a great stay at this hotel for 3 nights. This was our second time staying at this location. We particularly like to stay here because the metro is right across the street and we are free to park our cars in the garage and enjoy the metro and not have to ride around looking for parking and paying meters. Our first night was Saturday and it was very busy. There was a wedding being held here but it never interfered with anything around the hotel from my knowledge. The remainder of our stay was very quiet. We were in room 323, and If you are a view type of person this is not the room for you. This room is located on the very end in the corner. The breakfast was pretty good but I didn’t see many or the huge muffins that the hotel usually serves at other locations. The parking in the garage is very tight so if you have a large vehicle be prepared for that. The room were clean as expected daily and in a timely fashion. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We traveled from IL to visit VA Beach & Washington DC. We made this Embassy Suites stay for 3 nights not knowing many details about Alexandria....just that it was outside of DC. We were so impressed with the hotel, location to many fun restaurants/bars, train station to DC(which we took), waterfront and King Street in Alexandria that we would highly recommend this hotel to family & friends. The rooms are typical Embassy Suites hotel style we like....front room divided by a bathroom with bedroom in the rear. Our room was in a secluded area away from elevators and real quite. Coffee was ready by 6:30 in the breakfast area even through breakfast hours were 7-10. The breakfast was slightly modified but still cooked to order omelets(my favorite) and a few pastries and dry cereal. The evening “reception/happy hour” was great too, but best of all was the bartender Aiden. He was very funny, fast with the drinks, personable and energetic. It was also nice to receive texts from the hotel staff during our stay checking in if we needed anything & generally checking in with us. The pool wasn’t open during the times were we there and it looked OK, maybe on the small side if there were many people in the area at the same time.....this didn’t bother us at all.

It was open and well tended while we were there from Friday through Sunday, although it got a little crowded. But it was not open on a Tuesday when we were there. I don’t believe it is open every day of the week. I would call ahead to the hotel (not just the main Hilton number) with your specific days to find out.
