This is a drab and run down place that is quite unlike any of the hotels in the area. The only good thing about this place is the location. The price is good for the area but everything about this place from the furnishings to toiletries to linens is of a grade lower than motel 6. It has been a...

This is not a 4-star. I thought I found a great bargain online after reading reviews. I was in town for a St Louis-George Mason basketball game and stayed here. It was dated and seemed dirty. The staff was ok but seemed disinterested. Internet connection was also shabby. I won't be back.

Stayed here for two days recently. Positives: good price and a nice, safe area. Few new updates that I loved: the granite in the sink area was really beautiful, lovely porcelain in the bathroom, new and very nice bathroom/sink fixtures. Loved the bedding (expensive comforter from pacificcoast.com) although it did looked like it had a good wear. They have VERY...

Stayed here during a recent business trip to the area. The motel is clean, pretty quiet (but you are in a city). It is centrally located and the area around it is safe and clean. The hotel room has been renovated but the whole place is clearly from a different area. The motel could serve as a movie backdrop, certainly...

Older facility but exceptionally well kept and outstanding for the price. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting DC. Metro is easy walking distance for access to all areas of DC. Decent continental breakfast and an excellent diner just down the street.Staff was friendly and most helpful at all hours, went out of their way to accommodate our family. One of...

Very nice motel. The room was clean. The beds comfortable. Everything worked as it should. There was a small refrigerator in the room ... a nice extra. Parking was free. There is a simple but adequate free breakfast (yogurt, breads with toaster, cream cheese, butter, jelly, fruit, coffee/tea). There is a good diner (the Silver Arrow) an easy walk away...

If you are visiting DC and want a nice, clean, moderately priced hotel that is convenient and two blocks from the Metro the Highlander is for you. Admittedly it is an older property, but it was well maintained and the staff was overly friendly and accommodating. I travel ALL over the world and enjoy staying at non-brand chain hotels at...

We spent six nights at the HIghlander; because we were going to visit DC every day, we didn't need anything fancy, just clean and convenient. This motel fit the bill. Free parking, convenient location in Arlington 2-3 blocks from the Virginia Square metro station. ( It's about 15 minutes on the Metro to the Smithsonian.) The staff is very friendly...

Simple, no frills hotel super-conveniently located near the Virginia Sq metro stop. Great nightly rates, FREE parking (this alone is impossible to beat if you're driving from out of state and leaving your car to metro around) and nice staff. Excellent location, will always stay again!
