This park is located in Lorton Virginia , which is quite a distance from Arlington especially if driving at peak traffic hours . That being said we had a wonderful time , the sites were spacious the staff were polite and helpful , bonus...they had site trash pick up every day which was a nice touch . The bathrooms were... We stayed here 2 nights and toured Washington dc. Great proximity to public transport into DC we drove and parked at springfield franconia parking lot, I did not see space for a camper we just drove our truck there. Parking there on the weekend is free and like 4.50ish thru the week. We bought metro cards there from the vending... More

We have a popup camper and have camped all over the south east and these bathrooms were nasty. The camping pads had little, if any gravel, so we were parked on dirt. And when it rains, which it does ever day in July, that dirt turn into slick nasty mud. Not great for tracking into a camper. Also, bring leveling... More

We were looking to camp somewhere different from Prince William forest and stopped by here (its very near by). They "campground" is very much in the spirit of RV style commercial campgrounds. The sites are right next to each other there is very minimal privacy and no sense of being in the woods. After driving around for a while and... More

We were in a tent in site 47. The Comfort Stations, which have restrooms, showers and laundry facilities, were kept very clean. The playground was nothing special but the kids had a blast anyway. Hiking trails were well-marked with reflective blazes. Our only issue was with a late arriving new neighbor. This gentleman decided that 3am was a great time... More

We camped here on our recent visit to DC and Mount Vernon. It was perfect! We love a campsite that is nestled among the trees and has the feel of a state park vs they parking lot feel. This park is exactly that! We camp in a 25' motor home and there were big rigs as well as tents and... More

We love this campground! Beautiful woods, birds singing, occasional deer! Friendly staff are always willing to help out! And the fellow campers are too! Great place to come to get away from the hustle and bustle!

This is a very pretty park with lots of walking trails, right on the bay, and obviously in the season has lots of water activities on offer. We stayed here for a week using this campground as a base to visit Washington DC. The park is about 15 minutes drive from the metro railway station which made it nice and... More

We enjoyed our time at Pohick. Campground includes many amenities; hiking trails, frisbee golf, boat ramp, fishing, picnic areas and much more. We utilized this campground to visit Washington DC, taking the local train which was only 15mins from the park. Only a couple sites offer direct sight of the sky for satellite TV. Since we didn’t have a roof... More
