You have free wifi the whole time, free Internet cafe 24h, a bar on the deck a pool-table and great caipirinhas! The stuff is super friendly. Every Tuesday they do a trip to a part in Pelourinho the historical centre of Salvador. They bring and pick you up. The beachside is direct in front of the hostel. Breakfast is included...

I chose this place based on the location. I'll qualify what I'm about to say be adding that it's in a great location, the staff were very nice and helpful, and the overall atmosphere is great. The people staying there were fun, they had music and dancing at night, and the restrooms in the public areas were clean. That said,...

Location is nice, at the sea front. The staff is great but it's the worst Che Lagarto I've been so far. Common areas are cool, especially the terrace. But the room was really old, just one plug for six people. And the bathroom was horrible, without window and full of insects! The room is really hot during the day, fortunately...

I've arrived late at night with more than one backpack, I know hostels aren't suposed to carry our bags, but until now, the places I've been in Brazil every body offered to help... Not at Che Lagarto. And I had to climb a ladder much steeper than normal. Awful. Satff not helpfull at all. For the rest can't say. Only...

Very typical hostel with many common areas and large rooms. The rooms could definitely be cleaner, but not more than any other hostel. The wifi is spotty within the rooms, but great in the common areas. The staff is very helpful and super open to talking. The breakfast is very elementary, but you forget about it when take a sit...

The staff is very nice and helpful, the location is not too bad but not in the safest area of the city and a bit far (30mn by bus) from Pelirinho ...Well past that it is definetely the worst Hostel I have ever been...

Such a disappointment! The rooms are a sauna, even thought the temperatures outside were around 25C. And don't think the room with AC will be much better! The 1st bed I arrived at had a terrible old looking mattress , the 2nd one was great and comfortable. Rooms super crowded, with no room to walk at all! The shower was...

My girlfriend and I travelled around Brazil for two weeks staying in Che Lagarto, Salvador for a couple of nights. It is was it is, a hostel with bunk beds set up for travellers/back packers. The location is excellent, right on the beach and a short walk from the lighthouse. The beds were basic but comfortable. Rooms were clean and...

The location is absolutely amazing. It is located right at the city beach Barra, with terraces and balconies facing the ocean. The rest of the Hostel is very basic. Everything is kind of "worn down" and needs some renovation / replacement. The six bed dorm was okay with AC and own bathroom. Rooms got cleaned daily, but the old "furniture"...

Terrible hostel. I have been also in other Che Lagarto hostels and they all are very terrible! The staff speaks ONLY Spanish, they don't help you if you need something (for exemple they didn't find our reservation and they split my group, we were 5, in two rooms, also if the reservation was for 1 room), they don't understand anything....
