We stayed at Pousada Colonial during our stay in Salvador and loved every bit of it. On arrival, we, for some reason, were upgraded to a premium room which was absolutely stunning with hammock on the balcony. Though the building is 350 years ( as we were told on arrival) the place has been maintained really well and is very...

On January of 2016 we booked a couple different hotels in Brazil for our yearly trip at the end of the year. One of them was Pousada Colonial in Salvador. As always we chose the properties and booked rooms keeping in mind the cancellation dates/fees. That said, after decent communication with Pousada colonial throughout 2016, we decided to cancel the...

Spent two nights here and enjoyed every aspect of my stay. I decided to stay in Pousada Colonial due to its close proximity to the historical center of Salvador. It's a beautiful, well-maintained, vintage building. The incredibly friendly staff speaks English fluently (as well as Portuguese and French). Rooms are clean and lovely.

I loved staying at this Pousada! It's a family run place which has retained the antique portuguese architecture and interior design. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you wish to reserve any tours around Salvador they are very helpful with the same. We had a small air conditioned double room which was on the ground floor, I think...

Its a very peculiar place, full of details and cosy. They have a nice breakfast, with fruits, local dishes and natural juice. We found the bedroom clean and great to have a shower and rest. One of the attendant speaks english, what isn't very common at the city.

Got here for just one night sleep with intention to get to know Salvador's historical center. It was my best decision. The hotel is very well located and allows anyone to get to know touristic attraction on foot. The hotel is very simple, beautiful and well maintained. A simple but very good breakfast. The room I took had no window....

Lovely interior, helpful staff and good ish locale but severely let down by ability to control noise . Building has practically no windows (shutters primarily which do not in all cases cover window gaps) so any noise from street is audible throughout entire hotel at any time ie bar across street which plays live music in til 2300 then carries...

The room was dirty and in a very bad condition. Is not a safe place to stay. Bad neighborhood. Is not safe to walk .. Is far from peluriño and places of interest. The place is fool of mosquitos.. i got the zika virus there. The prices for tours are very expensive if you compare with other hotels. The streets...

Stayed here during the carnival. It's on the parade street, so if during carnival be prepared that it will be close to action, and loud - but I considered it as a plus. Hotel offers some great views on the back, rooms are decent, not too clean, but on a plus. Staff is very helpfull, english speaking, can give advice...

Fantastic place. Really good location close to the historic centre but far enough away to make it feel very Salvador. Great little bars and eating places all along the main street it is on. Would defiantly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Salvador.
