Just a 5 minute walk from all the shops and restaurants in Trancoso, tucked away on a quiet street next to the forest. The one time it rained, it was so beautiful how the lush jungle came to life around us. I actually wished for more rain! The grounds are well maintained, and have a fantastic pool and breakfast area....

Great experience. Livia helped us to feel extremely well. A very good mix between the Italian way of welcoming people and the warm and friendly Brazilian tradition. Thanks Livia for making this stay a real moment of relaxing Fabrice and Lucimar

Me and a group of friends visited this "pousada" in July 2015. We really enjoyed the time spent there. The property was big and very well organised, the owner Andrea, was really fun and being Italian made us feel at home. Rooms were very well cleaned also really good buffet breakfast made with some Italian cake as the "Crostata". The...

Pousada Big Bambu is a boutique hotel/resort situated just a five minute walk from the Quadrado and an excellent choice if you're ever in Trancoso. Prior to booking, we communicated with Andrea--the friendly gentleman that runs the place, and he arranged for a taxi to pick us up from Porto Seguro. The rate was quite fair and the whole pick...

Excellent central location, in a green area situated at just 5 minutes by walking from the famous Quadrado of Trancoso (downtown). Available double rooms with bathroom, chalets and private villas for family or groups of friends up to 6 people. Friendly staff and good decoration. Rich breakfast with tropical fruits and typical local specialities.

We stayed at the BigBamboo in Trancoso for 5 days. There are a great number of pousadas in Trancoso, which we only realised once we got there, as they are so hard to find online. BigBamboo was one of the easy to find ones with good reviews. So we picked BigBamboo, And we weren't disappointed :). Big Bamboo is a...

Nice location, close to the Quadrado and provided a nice little pool and lounge area to relax after a day exploring the area. Great owners who went out of there way to accommodate our visit, including last minute requests to obtain racket bug zappers! Nice landscaped yard, the individual bungalows offered their own privacy and patio. Best quality was the...

Choosing where to stay in Trancoso is not very easy, even more to a foreigner. The big chains are not there, prices can be high - you may choose among the many “pousadas”, usually family-owned, simple hotels. You may depend on primitive web sites to choose it. Here you have a safe option: Big Bamboo. Owned by a couple of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Big Bamboo is one of the traditional Trancoso Pousadas. Under new management since July 2014, it has been totally renovated thanks to the diligence of local artisans, focusing on the decorative part, the renewal of the equipments and a brand new garden landscape, enhancing all spaces and creating a rustic and yet elegant atmosphere, in typical Trancoso style. The "New" Big Bamboo has the privilege of being located in the finest area of Trancoso, surrounded by lush vegetation of tropical forest, where the beautiful houses and the most elegant pousadas offer hospitality to the worldwide visitors. The proximity to the historic "Quadrado" with its colonial church, the breathtaking view of the ocean, along with the typical little shops and restaurants, make the Pousada Big Bambu one of the best places to stay in Trancoso. ... more   less
