Stayed there in july 04 for 15 days. This is an appart-hotel belonging to the French brand Accor. The building seems to be modern and new but it is not. The lobby, middle size is classical. It is an around 10 stored building and several appartements are private. The hotel appartements with a/c are small but the room is separate. A small kitchen is at your disposal, with fridge and some limited things to cook light dishes...The hotel is not directly on the beach as you have the road to cross but the view on the beach is lovely. Every things is mostly clean, and the house keeper comes every days. It is not luxury but you feel good as the atmosphere is tropical. The guests are Brazilian business men and some european tourists. A little sized swimming pool, is out door on the 1 st floor. Next door, you have the small breakfast room, crowded , between 7 and 9 am. The choice is limited, and service is not among the best. Staff is not so welcoming and not so helpfull... The place is ok during the day but not sure at all on the evening; so take a taxi or your own car, as the parking provide (safe) is free of charge.

One night was enough to decide to never come back. At least not while they don't remodel the entire building, and there seems to be some working in process based on the noise coming from the room in front of mine. Why would they put me in a room on the second floor where there's works being made if the hotel is almost empty and has 16 floors? That says very little of how they treat a costumer. The room itself is old, with moisture stains on the walls, little and old fashioned furniture, with little and bad lightning, small bathroom. The walls, windows and door are paper thin so you hear everything from the outside and your neighbor. The hotel is at the end of the beach so it's not the most convenient location but not the worst either.
On the good side, the wifi connection was free and very fast everywhere (I'm in the lobby right now), the room had a nice flat TV with a nice selection of channels, the AC worked fine and the restaurant was small but nice.
I'm sure there's better options in Fortaleza, unless they make it up after the remodeling

dont at all costs stay at this apartment hotel, none of the staff speak english... the rooms and lobby/hallways are filthy....
mattress's and sofas should be condemned.... no tv that work... they say fully contained kitchenette.. but you dont get anything to cook with... not even a pan to boil water
the toilets stink... and in typical brazilian fashion the drain in the bathroom is placed at the highest point of the floor... so when you clean the floor, all the water drains in the bedroom!!!!
i would not let the cleaners in, several guests were complaining of sticky fingered cleaners...
i am 5'11 medium build.. i could not sit on the toilet, they have put the toilet with 5 cms of clearance to the walls either side.... i had to use the lobby toliet for essential functions!!!
the area is surrounded by favallas, the area and the beach is lethal... saw 3 robberies and one stabbing in 8 days.....(same as all of fortaleza)

Close to everything, this hotel is well localized, 15 min from best places in Fortaleza, like Praia do futuro , Mercado municipal , street markets and shopping centers. It has rooms for all budgets, swmming pool and sauna, gym and restaurant. The structure needs reviewing , however it is clean, safe and the customer service is perfect. Friendly staff, 24hours reception. Our rom was a mini apartments, with kitchen and living room, ocean view and confy twin beds. I reccomend this hotel, good value for money!

Stayed in this hotel 2 weeks. It is an aparthotel meaning that there is a kitchen corner. The infrastructure is a bit old but clean and nice to stay in. The swimming pool is very small but outside. Close tothe beach (Praia Beira Mar), Ocean view, but the beach is not a good place to go to. However at night a lot of animations with a market and lots of runners. Sometimes a bit to noisy around the hotel at night. 20mns from the airport.

My wife and I booked a room with the romantic option for the beginning of our honeymoon. We experienced and amazing service. My wife was able to to check in at midday to prepare herself for the wedding in the afternoon. They allowed her best friends and professionals (hairdresser, photographer etc) as well. It was a great time for her because the apartment was spacious, including a lounge beyond the bedroom and toilet. When after the wedding we went to our room we found a very romantic atmosphere, with AC on and red roses on the floor and on the bed. The apartment had a full sea view, a nice and spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi. Very abundant breakfast served in the room. Parking underneath the hotel is included and that's very handy. Although is placed on the beira mar it's a quiet area (apart when there is a demonstration).

LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** Located in the centre of Fortaleza, next to busy Praia de Mucuripe. It is within walking distance to many restaurants, beaches and shops. Secured parking is in the ground floor.
HOTEL OVERVIEW *** This is more business-orientated hotel, but leisure guests would also find it quite useful, especially with the great value this hotel offers, location, great staff and spacious rooms. It is one of those tall buildings on Fortaleza’s skyline. PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP *** Leisure.
RESERVATION *** Through ebookers.ie as they offered special discounted rate and I was able to use additional codes to reduce my price – for such amount I would probably only get hostel if I wanted. Pre-paid rate with breakfast. Regular prices are also very attractive.
LENGTH OF MY STAY *** 1 night.
CHECK-IN *** I arrived quite late and I was quickly checked-in by very helpful reception member Victor. He also advised me of the parking, hotel location, Wi-Fi access and safety features.
LOBBY & RECEPTION *** Looks really good I have to say, elegant and modern. There’s restaurant attached (Henriqueta Restaurant), where you can get nice dinner and tasty breakfast. There are few lifts, but they tent to go crazy and stop on some random floors (some of them definitely not for guests). At one stage I thought I will have to walk 16th floors from the garage as none of them wanted to go to requested floor.
ROOM *** My room #1654 was called Deluxe Superior with Balcony. It was really spacious, clean, but basic. There was separate living room with kitchenette and bedroom. Some elements require renovation or replacement (for example front doors which I had to kick to close, which can be dangerous as you can leave your apartment wide open). Also bathroom doors should be probably replaces as there were some holes due to humidity. There was a small balcony with side-view of the beach. Bed was extremely comfortable and I had a fantastic all night sleep. Two separate air-conditions (bedroom and living room) help keeps you cold enough in that crazy hot destination. Kitchenette was nice, but no cutlery, so you can’t really make any use of it. Mini-fridge bar was well equipped and prices were fair.
BATHROOM *** Again, quite basic, but clean and with spacious shower. Good quality toiletries were provided. Bathroom doors shows their age already.
BREAKFAST *** Absolutely loved it! It wasn’t huge at first (that’s what I thought), but food was delicious and selection was actually great. Warm and cold meals, fresh breads and cakes, fruit, juices, good strong coffee and warm meals counter. What I also liked was info that they will not add extra meals 30 min before breakfast ends to avoid food waste, but they can bring it to you if requested. Fantastic idea and all hotels should actually follow that. Staff was very attentive, all food (loved their cakes) really high quality and extremely tasty. Absolutely loved it.
RESTAURANT *** I arrived late, so I decided to order Room Service. Choice was very decent and prices also acceptable. Food arrived as advised over the phone and it was delicious.
INTERNET ACCESS *** Wi-Fi access was complimentary, but unfortunately connection not stable and it was disconnecting every so often. This should be amended.
CHECK-OUT EXPERIENCE *** Quick, hassle-free and again professional. Once again, reception staff members made me feel welcomed and appreciated.
STAFF *** Everybody, from Victor at reception to parking clerks were friendly and professional and welcomed all guests with genuine smile and attentiveness.
OVERVIEW *** Hotel Golden Fortaleza by Intercity is very good option if you are looking for great value for money and friendly staff. Location was good, but few things could be amended to make it even better. I definitely would consider staying there again when visiting Fortaleza.

Excellent hotel, very good location at Mucuripe beach. The only inconvenience about this location is that the city put up some fresh fish huts " Mercado dos Peixes" that leave an unpleasant smell on the sidewalk. The apartments as spacious clean and very comfortable, the shower excellent. Breakfast excellent too, the variety of fruits and other things make it a great start meal. They also have a Tapioca island where you can have a traditional north of Brazil dish. The service very courteous.
