This hotel was the luxury high point of our three week trip to Brazil. I really wanted to stay somewhere that was in keeping with the architectural wonders of the city, and Hotel Solar do Rosario certainly does that. Our deluxe double room was roomy and comfortable, though possibly not quite as big as I had expected - I am...

Great and welcoming, the meals in the hotel restaurant are cheap and excellently cooked (I highly recommend the soups!). The prices of the rooms are more on the expensive side but it is expected of the tourist city of Ouro Preto. The rooms are a bit smaller than you'd expect but very comfortable.

The hotel is located in the old town but a short walk form the main sights. The hotel itself is in a beautiful old building with a wonderful garden. The reception, hallways and restaurant are richly decorated and show you the splendor of time long gone by. The room itself was also quite ok, however the bathroom was shocking. It...

This is a very historic place and offers a great atmosphere. Ask for the Suite superior. It is not expensive but really great. Very spacious, huge bathroom with TWO WC's, really very nice. Make sure if you book the Suite superior, that this is also what you get. They have other suites, but they are by far not as nice...

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Solar Do Roario in colonial Ouro Preto. Our room opened onto a lovely courtyard - beautifully kept. The restaurant was very good, loved the indoor (and outdoor) pools, plus great views from the pool deck.

A real disappointment : when you enter in this old building you think you are in a 4 or 5 stars hotel, but reality is different : It’s really difficult to find somebody at the desk who speaks a good English...or some other foreign languages... They have changed the room we booked (a suite with view on the church) without...

We arrived at 10.00pm after nearly 14 hours travelling from the Pantanal, and the staff at Reception and in the restaurant gave us a warm welcome, sending the bags up to our room without checkin fuss and showing us through to a table so we could have dinner right away. When we went up to our room we found we...

Arriving at the hotel was a pleasant surprise as the photos don't do it justice. A stunning colonial building with a small hotel high style atmosphere. From the sofas to the lighting the place has been well thought out. A haven after walking the cobbled streets of Ouro Preto. Breakfast was great with a huge selection of local and known...

this is a time capsule. very well appointed, clean, and I must say helpful staff. I would defiantly return. my room was beautiful and as a matter of fact the bathroom was bigger than my whole apartment in Miami.

We've just enjoyed two days in this delightful hotel. Our twin room with French windows opening into a little garden courtyard are light, simple and elegant. I love the old fashioned wooden beds and gleaming wooden floor. Old Brasil rather than new. The generous public areas are tastefully furnished in a modern rustic relaxed style. The hotel staff have been...
