We had a room that overlooked the lake. Room was clean. 2 comfortable queen beds. Wished for better reading lights, but that was minor. Chairs down by the lakeside that we spent a couple hours reading in and watching the loons swimming by. We were greeted by a friendly young woman at check-in. Pleasant stay.

Bayview Motel is located on the Highway in Ashland, nevertheless it is not too noisy. There is a great view on Lake Superior from the backyard. The rooms are small and simple but clean. The host was very nice and gave us some helpful tips for the area as well as some interesting stories about its history. It takes about...

Just stayed at the Bayview Motel. Room 4. Quaint knotty pine room. Fridge, coffee maker, microwave! Walk-in shower in the bathroom! VERY clean room! Checked -in early, but went up to Bayfield for a cruise around the Apostle Islands. Sat outside at the high top table and chairs with our dinner and enjoyed the lake! Would stay there again!

Could not of had a better motel to stay at. The owner was sooooo nice and helpful with everything. The rooms were clean and nice. First motel I have ever been in that I wasn't afraid to sit on the bedspread. Will definitely stay there again.

Thank you! You appreciate the simple, basic site we have on the shores of Lake Superior, the largest fresh water lake in the world. The way things used to be is not bad for today, We like people who respect this simplicity. Please come again. p.s., our rooms are cute, yes?

"Bates Motel"?? No, it was not. I am well traveled and this was simple, quiet, and super clean as others stated. Refreshingly priced too & you get: waves heard through windows that actually open, lasting hot water with great pressure for my thick long hair, an owner who was more than hospitable, but also gave us our privacy. The room...

Hello and Thank You. You understand the variety of accommodations available today and know that this old 1950s place still has a role to play in welcoming people "on the road". With old fashioned basics and cleanliness- as well as our cute knotty pine rooms and pretty spot on the lakefront (at a bargain price for today's economy), we can...

After reading the last posted review I had to post my own review, while our room was indeed clean,,, it was also eerie and odd, cold( although we had a space heater(!!!) in our room, a bed that should've been retired years ago, a bathroom that felt like a campground shower and a TV that would be dated 10 years...

Wow! With a little more embellishment, we could attract groups of mystery writers to visit. Imagine more - that the manager or owner is psychotic, that your neighbors are criminals (which ones?), that there are eerie groaning sounds coming out of the woods and from the lake front, that there are tracks in the snow behind your window, and inexplicable...

Impressive! My friend and I stayed here on Friday, Feb 27th. I made my reservation over the phone. Katie answered the phone. I could immediately hear her smile. She was polite, friendly, and very helpful. When I hung up the phone, I looked at my friend and said, "I have a good feeling about this place". When we arrived, Katie...

We'd originally planned on staying in Bayfield, but we didn't make reservations and Bayfleld was pretty much booked. So we headed back to Ashland and checked out the Bayview Motel. It's definitely a throwback to the 1950s that's been updated with a microwave, refrigerator and wifi. But the rooms are adorned with aged knotty pine paneling. The room we had...

We chose Bayview as our homebase for a trip to the area because we secured the kitchenette room. The kitchen was completely fitted, the motel was very clean inside and out, and the couple running it were friendly and helpful. It is located on the far side of town from the route to Bayfield, but was not inconvenient.

We found this little gem while on a motorcycle journey. The owners were pleasant and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable with the amenities we need and none of the overpriced flash of chain motels. We, my wife and I, love it here and make it a point to stay here on our yearly vacation. Old fashioned charm,...
