It was a nice, looking good hotel, with an attentive and friendly front office staff. The room bathroom and the bed very good.
The food for breakfast and buffet for dinner very good, too. We have been to the Iguazu Falls only for one day/one night stay. Arriving at "Aeropuerto Internacional Guaranƭ" Ciudad del Este, Paraguay - one hour trip by taxi to the hotel. No problems at all by the border. The hotel has shuttle service to the very nearby Brazilian "Aeroporto Internacional de Foz do IguaƧu" - only 5 min. drive!
We recommend the "Hotel Colonial Iguacu" for visiting the Iguazu Falls, there was a nice garden and hugh swimming pool too, + small pools - but no time for us to use it :(
Nearby the hotel there is a beautiful bird park and more.

This hotel is located literally 2 minutes drive from the Brazilian side of the falls. Firstly the hotel is fairly nice, normal sized double bed with a shower. The hotel has two pools and a sunbathing area along with a restaurant. The breakfast was really nice with good variety and different options every morning, the evening meals weren't as great but still filled a spot! Wi-fi was reliable and fast!

We arrived at the Argentina airport, it cost us approximately 400ARS to get from the airport to the hotel - The driver takes your passport and arranges for exit from Argentina and entry to Brazil then gives you them back.

Obviously the main reason for being there is to get to the falls - We did the Brazilian side on the afternoon after we arrived, the hotel drop you off for 30 BRL and then the park ticket is 55BRL

The next day we did the Argentine side, this cost us 300BRL each, this included transport in the hotel minibus from the hotel at 830am, entrance/exit through immigration both ways, Argentine park ticket and the ticket for the boat into the waterfall which was amazing!! They then pick you up at 5pm to take you back to the hotel, it was very well organised and you will definitely be happy to have the full day on the Argentine side.

A small downside I suppose is the location of the hotel maybe, it is not close to Foz Do Iguacu, it is a taxi ride away that cost us just short of 100BRL in each direction when we went in for a meal one night just for a change of scenery. There are no mini-marts or anything near by so you have to use the hotel to buy water and stuff but its reasonably priced, a 500ml bottle of water was 5BRL and they sell plug adapters at reception for 9BRL - Please note the adapter only changes it to a standard European plug so you will need to bring one of those if you are from the UK like us!

We also went to Ciudad Del Este for a few hours on our last day, that cost 200BRL and the driver took us there, waited for us then brought us back to the hotel.

Its about 5 minutes from the airport

Your choice, 15 minute walk or 2 minute cab ride to the Iguazu Falls Visitor Center where you can purchase tickets for the attraction. The Harbor Colonial is a friendly and generally clean hotel that puts you about as close as you can get to the falls. Rooms are functional and beds decently comfortable. We were there over New Years and attended their New Years Eve Party which was a great time and included fireworks. Friendly staff.

I stayed a couple of days in November, the personnel was very kind and the treat to tourist was very good, when i asked questions to the people in the reception gave me information and tips very helpful, the room that i got was very big and very comfortable enough to disinfect the clothes and put it in a different place in the room far from the bed, the pool close at 10 Pm and from over there you can get food, there was a restaurant that offer breakfast already included in the price very delicious, if you want you can eat in the hotel but keep in mind just can consume what is inside NO outside, the dinner was very delicious, there was a small store to buy souvenirs inside the hotel. the hotel is very close to the Parque das Aves and the Iguazu Falls entrance, in overall this hotel exceeded my expectation and it was very close to the airport. the only bad thing but is not that big deal that the center of the city is a big far but you can ask in the hotel a ride for a price or ask Uber. Thank you very much for your attention and make my stay comfortable.

I actually like this hotel quite a lot, despite having some reservations after reading some of the reviews here. I stayed in a single room at the end of the hall - and the rate was quite attractive. The room was spacious for one person, and everything worked just fine - including the windows which came with a mosquito net and could be locked with no problems (anyway, I was on the third floor, it's impossible to climb in from the outside). The air conditioning was cold, and I had to switch it off sometimes. The breakfast room was large and well lit with a nice buffet area. At dinner time, the hotel offered a buffet ticket (of different foods nightly) at 59 BRL only. It can get busy though. I didn't use the pool; fitness centre was really an outdoors exercise area. The staff were kind and nice, and some of them spoke English. The tour desk was great, and I used it to book a trip to the Argentinian side of the falls. It was quite reasonably priced at 400 BRL all in. They also do complimentary transfers to IGU airport, and shopping trips to Paraguay (100 BRL). The only thing that could be improved was the wifi - it didn't always work, and you couldn't really stream things with it. There is a 5 BRL onibus (line 120) just outside that takes you to the city, the airport and the falls. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel and would stay here again.

The hotel is conveniently situated near the airport and the falls. Parking is free and there is plenty of parking spaces. Those with kids would be delighted with the pool, water slide and playground. We like the spacious hotel restaurant, which serves a hearty breakfast with a variety of cold cuts, warm dishes, breads, cakes, muesli and fruits. Dinner at the hotel restaurant is also good. The souvenir shop in the hotel is a gem, as the prices there are lower than other places (especially the official souvenir shops at the attractions). Our room is clean, quiet and comfortable, and wifi is ok (not too fast but sufficient for emails & social media). One advice: please bring mosquito repellent.

Both the decor and furnishings of the rooms look like the old days in the Soviet Union. There was no hair dryer in the room. I was given another room that smelled like chlorine, no bedside lamps. There were only 2 electrical outlets and a good distance from the bed. I asked at the reception for a bedside lamp but no one brought it. There is noise in the corridor at night which can be heard in the room. There was a humming of some generator outside the window, which had no

I am actually at the hotel right now but halfway through the end of my stay here. Instead of complaining to the manager, I decided this would be the best way to improve customer service.

We ignored previous tripadvisor comments due to the fact that there was no vacancy in the top rated hotels mentioned in this site for the same price in Foz. Well, right away I started noticing the less-than-Motel-6 type service here upon check-in. Maybe it was the fact that the checkin was pretty busy, but service was mediocre and robotic.

Then we check into the room, and instead of a double bed, there was 2 twins. We notified lobby , and they stated someone would be here in 5 minutes to fix the problem. We waited 30 min and ended up leaving to town for a walk. When we came back, all they did was put the twin beds together. This was the first sign of trouble, but we agreed to ignore this. We also noticed the room clean but old. In fact, the bottom of the bathroom door was rotting and all they do is paint over it. (see pictures). A plus is the flat screen tv, but I guess we are not here to see tv.

Then next morning my wife wants to iron and there is no iron. So we call lobby again. Their solution was that they could dryclean and iron it for a charge.

Breakfast was good. A lot of variety.

We go to the pool. So my wife goes for a swim. I then notice a suited up guy (Im guessing the manager) survey the pool area and talk to the service girl. A little bit later, she approaches me and tells me that my wife has to get out of the pool because she is not wearing appropriate swimwear. I told her that she was wearing swim wear bought in the USA and that was one of the styles worn in the States. She then explains that if I had a problem she would call the manager.

Now my wife is wearing a "Tankini top and skirted bottom" from JAG Swimwear bought at Dillard's. I call my wife and she gets out and I tell her to go talk to the service girl. When she does, the service girl starts arguing that its not appropriate swimwear and that skirts or tank tops are not allowed, that she must wear a "tiny two piece bikini"...and added, "well thats what the culture usually wears here." Finally my wife convinces her to touch the swimwear and finally apologizes. I guess the apology is good but other people noticed the "scandal" going on and kinda felt embarrased so we left. I understand Brazil is known for their own style of swimwear and technicaly we are guests in someone else's "home" but if Im paying money to stay, then well...I guess you get the idea.

So I want to try to save you some bad moments, book early and stay in the low budget top rated Tripadvisor annual winners.

This was by far the worse of the 12 hotels we stayed at in South America during this trip. Usually I give the reviews based on the budget allocated for the hotel as well. Considering we paid so little for the room I was not expecting much but it was even worse than expected. The corridor was dark and gloomy, furniture was old, beds were not comfortable, the room was dirty (few minutes after it was "cleaned" we got in and there were dead bugs and lots of hair on the floor), the bathroom had mold. The surroundings would have been beautiful but they were also not taken care of. The pools were VERY dirty, full with dead bugs, dead leaves and greenish algae. Even the indoor one (which had very warm water, would have been a nice touch if it wasn't full of dead bugs!). Everything is highly overpriced (for ex. drinks cost more than then do inside the attractions) and there's also an extra 10% that gets added at the end (so it's even more expensive).

The food was mediocre at best (the beef steaks are the only ones even worth considering). My husband got a frozen lasagna! It was just warmed up on the exterior and the interior was frozen. He complained, they took it back and brought it 10 minutes later again. Same plate. Would have been funny if it wasn't sad.

In the first evening, we had just landed so we decided to get the dinner buffet (it seemed that it was the only option, we discovered afterwards that they also had a menu and then had the beef steaks mentioned above). According to the information booklet it was starting at 7. We waited until it turned 7, asked one of the waiters if we can start, was told yes so got in to chose a table. When we wanted to move towards the buffet selection another waiter told us we had to wait until 7:30 as it only starts then. I was a bit pissed but decided to wait due to the lack of options. 5 mins later they decided we could start. Well, we left in under 30 seconds, all the choices from the buffet were a few pasta dishes. Not even decent sauce for the pasta, some weird indescribable sauces that looked bleah. Again, would have been funny if it wasn't sad.

For the last day we enquired about one of their touristy trips. Asked about the total price for the tour (it was 130 r$ for 2), decided on all the details and then they said I need to pay so that they're sure I'll go. No problem, I bring the money but.. it's too little! They ask for 260 r$. I had to pay another 130 r$ for transportation, costs that were somehow magically not mentioned during the half hour discussion we just had. It's good I didn't decide to put the trip on the room, would have been a nice surprise at the end.

Except for one waiter at the cafeteria, the rest of the staff was really unfriendly. Also, you have to pay 2 r$ for each of the pool towels. Ok, not so much. We took them to our rooms without even using them (decided to skip the pool at the time considering it was so dirty) and the cleaning lady just took them away from the room without leaving replacements!!! Yup, another one of the funny moments.

Honestly, don't stay here unless you NEED to be very close to the airport or the Brazilian side of the falls.

I stayed at this hotel 2 nights and I was very happy with my choice. The hotel is situated at 1.5 km away from the airport, has free shuttle( you have to mention in the Special area when booking thye hotel with which flight you arrive and with which one you'll leave and they will arrange the transfer for you) and it's only 1 km away from the Falls(10 min walk- on the street, there is a small side walk). You can eat all meals at the hotel or you can take the green bus to the city( 1 ride is 2.9 R$ aprox 1,10 euros) and get off in the city center. The last bus from the city to the hotel is leaving around 22.00 and you can take it from the station in front of McDonald's. The city in not a big deal but if you want to do smthg more in the evening you can have a look there, too. the rooms are clean, they will provide you with towels, soap and shampoo. The AC in the room was ok, not too loud. The hotel has 3 swimming pools: 1 for adults and 2 for kids. There is also a play ground for kinds, so it's perfect if you travel with children.
The entrance fee for the Brazilian side of the falls is 42R$ and it takes aprox. 3 hours. It's open btw 8 and 17:00.I recommend you to visit the Bird Park as well. The entrance fee is 28R$. If you plan to visit the Argentinian side of the falls I recommend to plan 1 day for that. You can book the trip from the Harbor Turismo at the hotel for 135R$ per person.this includes the transportation and the entrance fee. You can also take the bus from the city center, but it's time consuming and it's not worth it. The entrance fee for Argentinean side is 65 Pesos.
