The lady who greeted us at the front counter when we arrived was perhaps the most friendly, helpful and courteous attendant I’ve ever met. I travel regularly for business and pleasure and have stayed at many 5 star resorts, but I’ve never experienced the energy and kindness this person showed. She spoke very good English as a second language and made us feel like every need would be looked after.
Once we were checked in, she came around the counter, immediately hit a baggage attendant and then walked us to our room some 10 minutes away, while showing us the hotels restaurants and features along the way. Then she gave us the numbers to call plus a WhatsApp address to get translation service (Portuguese to English).
She followed up by giving her regular hours of work in case we needed to speak directly with her again.
I learned she just started working with Enotel, (name is Ana Clara) so my suggestion to management is to follow her progress closely because you have a winner on your team.
If Ana can pass along her enthusiasm to other employees you’ll have a lot of happy customers.
Sincerely,
Derek Thornley (Canada)

We stayed in this hotel for ten days. I travelled with family and friends. The room was comfortable. Two large beds, and small balcony. The mini bar had some soft drinks. The bathroom was ok. This hotel had many pools. There was a water park for kids and a lazy river. They had variety on options for meals. Food was ok, not memorable. Drinks were nice, we had many caipirinhas. There were tons of activities during day and night, for kids and also for adults. The beach was nice though there were many waves. It rained a lot during our stay, buy we had a great time. Everyplace was within walkable distance from the rooms. Staff was super friendly. We felt safe. Great hotel for family vacation.

After booking our trip with my travel agency (CVC), I´ve got very concerned with the very bad reviews of Enotel Acqua. Some of them were scary, but also very out of place for a hotel built a few years ago.
So, we kept the faith on our agent who gave us positive feedbacks about the resort and who also argued that it was not very clear if the bad reviews were related to the other hotel of the complex, the Enotel Convention and Spa which is older than Enotel Acqua.
Firstly, you should adjust your expectations to the fact that Enotel Acqua is a large all-inclusive beach resort for families with children. It is not an upscale luxury resort.
Now let´s break down the review:
1) The resort building:
Enotel Acqua is a modern designed building with a clear practical objective. No fancy furniture, no art or design objects around. There are lots of wide open spaces which allows the winds to flow. The rooms (I believe all of them) are pointed to the beach with a balcony. The fact of be located near to the sea will of course have some impact, so expect some sand, salt and leaves around. Lobby furniture also shows some usage, but I could not see anything dirty or torn. It is not a dirty place, in fact staff is always cleaning the spaces. Some of the dirty that I could see was clearly the result of bad guests.
2) Water Park, Gardens and Activities:
Enotel Acqua water park is the main attraction of the resort. Many pools, including a wave pool with a wet bar and an attached “sand beach”. A slow “river” surrounds the water park. The Kids area is great, and my oldest son loved it, and I also loved because on this area the music is not loud. Bars are located around serving cocktails and snacks. There are pool guardians around taking care of the security of the people on the pools, but I recommend being careful with you small children. Beautiful and well-maintained gardens complement the visual. There is a sports team who are always calling the adults for games, dancing and other activities (all with loud music). Children have lots of activities too until late night. I cannot give many details because my children are too young to be enrolled on the activities.
3) The Room:
Same practical approach. A large room with a balcony which allows you to see the resort gardens, pools and the ocean (depending on the building floor, of course). Two comfortable queen size beds, large wardrobe (the safety locker is inside) and fixed tables. LCD TV and telephony are modern and work well. Wi-Fi was also ok. Bathroom is also large, with a good shower, large mirror and a hair dryer.
4) The food:
I believe that this is the most controversial topic. As I told before, don´t expect gourmet food. This is buffet service. There are lots of options like beef, chicken, fish (grilled during the service), salads, cheese, bread, pasta etc. During the dinner they have wine (no wine menu is available), there is even a “Fit Buffet” with healthy options. Breakfast also has lots of options. At afternoon there are some mini-buffet available at specific bars with sandwich, cheese, salads, cakes and coffee. In general, there is some lack of flavor, but the food is clean and well produced. I could see senior staff supervising the service, the Chefs checking the food and nutritionist team collecting samples and checking the food temperature. Only our last dinner, the food (codfish) was so tasteless that my wife decided not to finish it. Anyway, I believe that the reason for the tasteless food is to try to please many different people, but I believe that it can be improved.
Finally, I had no problem during my stay at Enotel Acqua. I believe that many of the criticisms are unfair. Maybe people booked the hotel with unreal expectations. It is a great hotel to have fun with your kids and family. Congrats to all the hotel team.

The room didn’t have a working phone, the employees were tired because lack of optimal number. There are too much mosquitoes too. By the way the hotel was overcrowded

We really like AI and we know what to expect. But let's talk about misleading advertising with this one...

We booked a superior room with garden view ( the other option was pool view and we were afraid of the noise ). In the pictures of the hotel and the brochure, it seemed to be a modern boutique hotel, but it was far from it.

Upon arrival we were given a superior room pool view, but it was a view to the "quiet" pool and we were told it was silent. When we opened the door we were shocked, the room was old, tired, chipped furniture, cheapest possible ceramic floor tiles. The bed was 2 single pushed together and both were sagging in the middle, but the worse was the bathroom, there was mold and dirt everywhere. We collected several tissues of dirt in the shower door, shower head, corners, and went to the reception to complain. They sent a cleaning lady and she agreed that the room was dirty, she offered to clean it but there was nothing she could do about the mold. We requested then another room.

In the phone they told me I would get another superior room but instead of the green wing, it would be in the violet wing. Because my husband is foreigner ( I am brazilian he is dutch ) we were given an upgrade to a sea view suite. This room was much cleaner and double the size, even had a jacuzzi. It was an improvement, but even that room was not a room I expected to see in a 5* resort. Same cheap floor, cheap furniture, curtains with stains and due to the proximity with the stairs, very noisy. I was a non smoking room, but the bathroom reeked the 8 days we spent there.

The quiet swimming pool was nice but had very little sun and it was not that nice to relax with 200 room balconies looking at you. The bigger swimming pool was too crowded and always so dirty that we could never see the bottom of it.

There were loungers by the beach, in the hotel looking at the beach and around the pool. If you wanted a nice place, you would have to reserve before 6 am, and yes, there are warnings saying that reserving places is forbidden... but everybody does it anyway. The hotel was not build to be an all inclusive, so the public space is not enough for the amount of rooms.

The food in the buffet is really good, although a bit repetitive. There are 2 a la carte restaurants, one with regional food and other with portuguese food. We managed to get a reservation for the regional, but when we tried to get a reservation for the portuguese, the front desk clerk made fun of us because it was 6:20am and according to him, at 5:40am the line was already by the end of the lobby ( reservations start at 6 am ).

Was there nothing good? Drinks by the pool were very nice, people were served fast, nice quality alcoholic drinks. Coconut water and soft drinks are available at all times and there is no line to get it.

In the end, if this hotel had cost us 50% of what it did, it could have been tolerable, but we paid 5* prices and stayed in a 3* hotel.

Next time I will pay extra to stay at the Nannai or go directly to Bahia in the Iberostar. That is a damn good all-inclusive!

The hotel is located one and a half hours drive from the Recife Airport. I had high hopes for Enotel that quickly diminished after check-in. There are only around 2 staff members that speak fluent English, which makes basic communication very difficult. It appears this is a family vacation spot for Brazilians so English language rare and simply not a priority. Upon entering our room I was shocked discovered what the owners of the hotel considered to be “the best room in their “5 Star” hotel". The decor is drab and dated; our bed linens were stained. I noticed a lot of mold in the bathroom and grease stains on the bathroom walls; paint repairs were completed on a patchwork basis. Based on the mold alone, I immediately requested a room change--I was told that the hotel was fully booked and there were no other rooms available--we were stuck for the entire trip. The hotel lacked the basic essentials of a 5 star hotel: basic furniture (not exquisite), lumpy bed, no room service, no plush white towels (grey instead and only 4 per room, no robes or slippers, rough grey bed sheets, no in-room gratis Wi-Fi, no mini bar, no evening turn down service. The hotel is all inclusive so you must book your evening meal seating from 8:30 -10:00 a.m. (most people sleep during this time when on vacation) or you are relegated to a crowded, sloppy buffet restaurant. In order to use the hotel computer you must pay for an Internet code which costs about $16!!! Also, there are no printers so you cannot print out your boarding pass. There is Wi-Fi available only in the bar area, but it is so slow -- I just gave up. On two occasions, I called reception 5 times to try and book wake-up calls to no avail--thank God for my IPod! The hotel is very expensive--I purchased some soap which was around $25 a bar--I am still recovering from the shock!! The owners of the hotel need to visit NYC, Toronto, London or Paris to compare their “5 Star” hotel to 5 star hotels in those cities--I know what to expect at 5 star hotels and this did not measure up in any way, shape or form---only in the price which is utterly shocking. North American budget hotels deliver better quality, service and value.

So... I don't even know how to describe. The hotel has everything to be amazing... But it's not... Are the lazy? I don't know what's wrong with them... From the administration to employees.

Check in: it was " smooth" ... Three guys in reception and luckily I was second in line so I got attended immediately... Problem??? Took forever. The guy who attended me was nice but didn't know anything! It was high season and having only three in reception when at least one doesn't have any idea of the place, the rules, etc... It's terrible! I feel sorry for the ones who were after us cause they waited forever for their turn.

Room: damn! The window didn't close... The safety box didn't work... The room smell humid and dirty, shower worked terrible and water was leaking through the opening of the glass of the shower. Seriously... I paid by day about 300 usd... There is no way it's in such situation!!!! Of course no room service saying " as u know in all inclusive room service doesn't exist" yeah... In Brazil... In Mexico all inclusive includes room service! Sorry for telling you such a basic thing!!!

Food: break fast the only good thing is omelette ... Just one girl taking forever to make and COMPLAINING to guest about how hot it's on her side! Hello????!! I came to relax... Not to listen to your complains!!!
Dinner is a disaster! The dinner with reservation which are suppose to be high quality... Well, enter and dessert are coming between three restaurant and it's buffet!!! Are u serious? The wine was terrible, the service and everything simply wrong!

Animation: in general good... But the guy in volleyball took the game like HIS game and attacking the guests and when one guy came close to join the game he replied like " we are 5 in each side and as long as u don't get your pair you can't enter" seriously?!! His job is to entertain! If there is no such a pair HE HAS TO BE OUT... Not the guest! What's wrong with employees in this place!???

In general... Seriously ... Everything is self service! I asked for a caipirinha in a bench close to the bar... Came about 30 minutes later... Just passed by me... Cause the girl gave to another person just because she saw me ordering caipirinha 10 minutes ago in the bar???? I mean... She took forever , went for one while she bring what I asked for... And never brought it! And everything is like that... zERO service... Sometimes I even needed to clean a table before sitting cause all tables are dirty... The bar man everywhere takes forever for a drink! Service service service guys!

The only good thing was the pools and that's it! Cause I don't need any service in there of course. The slow river is also so relaxing. I really enjoyed my time there! My boy loved the pools and we loved it too. The beach for me was good but the waves are little too strong for a toddler so my husband and I took turns to go to the beach.

So... Would I go again!? Maybe a day pass? To use the pools but doesn't worth the money... No service, no good food, I don't know

As I person who worked in tourism... It's really a small effort that this place has to make... The beach is there, amazing weather is there... Put a little effort in your personal ... I don't know if their payments are terrible but they are just so arrogant and so lazy... U can't relax with this treatment... Seriously

This Porto de Galinhas, Ipojuca Resort was supposed to be excellent... On paper and hotels.com. Beach side, slow river, various pools, but the true story is different when it goes down to how this place is (mis)managed.
1) They have the number 9 you must dial for any service: it just does not work and the service is so understaffed that in the 3 times I needed, different days and times, I never was successful to get it not busy and nevertheless they have a call back option, it plainly does not work, nobody ever returned.
2) it is an all inclusive resort that has a policy of not handing you ANY can of soda. At first I thought security but they hand you glass cups, therefore it is plain stinginess to make it difficult for you to consume, having to go to the overcrowded bars instead of having the comfort -you paid for- of an all inclusive.
3)in addition to the central number issue, I had someone joining me for 1 night out of the for, and wanted to make official so I asked to include as I arrived, called the outside line to have the because internal number 9 didn't work and after going 4 times to an overcrowded front desk with 2 people I finally was able to insert into the system the request that was guaranteed to have been done by the first 2 but never actually done.
4)internet access is a bad joke, never more than 128k when available which was almost impossible in the rooms because they use very unprofessional router (they were exposed in the hallway; I wouldn't have it home).
5) air conditioning is brand new however the operation is ridiculously difficult, even for staff to explain.
6) main restaurant doesn't have air conditioning and unless it is below 25C it's plain hot. Food is cold and repetitive lunch and dinner.
7) guest may have the right for theme restaurants but they make it so complicated to schedule it which is in person in the morning or through a phone in the afternoon Monday thru Friday( it's a Resort people, gets busier in the weekends). So it's so complicated you rather not do. Yet another incentive not to consume.
8) parking is a disaster, well underestimated, cars end up having to be parked in access ramps and around the lobby driveway.
9) towels distribution is located in 2 stops as far away from the lobby and rooms as possible, definitely underserved and very low quality towels.
10) toiletries were NOT replaced throughout our entire stay, nevertheless requested. Stinginess or bad management ?? Would stay with the former.
11) sauna is an outsourced service, not included. Fitness has 4 treadmills for all the guest of 2 hotels Enotel Convention and the Acqua where we stayed, 400+ rooms
My suggestion : spend your money ELSEWHERE .

From the ill-maintained infrastructures to the poor service, everything was a huge disappointment in this hotel. Beach towels were hard or almost impossible to get, bed sheets and room towels were fraying, swimming pool was dirty, the bathroom looked 50 years old. The staff were somewhat friendly but unable to give any kind of valuable information or solve any of our problems. The fact that this is a five-star hotel would be laughable if we hadn't paid a 5-star check for a 1-star service. The only thing worth our trip was the beautiful beach, which obviously cannot be credited to the hotel. I would advise everyone against staying at this hotel.

As piscinas são abertas. Não recomendo este hotel na alta temporada, fica lotado, piscinas com muita gente bebendo sem sair da água para ir ao banheiro, brincadeiras sem graça, muito, muito barulho, comida ok.
