The hostel doesn't exceed the high rating in our opinion. The vibe is good, but the showers are freezing cold and de WiFi is a disaster. There are nice hammocks to relax in and the staff speaks English.

We stayed in a private room and it was very clean with good air con. There was problems with lack of water in the shower, but the staff worked hard to resolve this issue. The air con in the room was great and provided welcome relief from the summer sun! The breakfasts at Che Legarto are really good, lots of...

There was a mix up with my booking and no Dorm beds were available but I was put up in a private room instead. For free! The luxury of my own bathroom and room to myself was great and the room was modern and clean, with AC. As a solo traveller a private room makes meeting others slightly harder though...

Very nice hostel with a cheap meal every night and a bar with cheap drinks. The breakfast is very good (for Brazilian standards) and the staff is helpfull. There was a live concert on Saturday night, very good! We slept on the opposite side of the street so this was quiet at night, but I can imagin it being very...

We booked a dorm room and got upgraded to a private room for free. The hostel was nice and relaxed, with hammocks, a bar and offered cheap food each evening with a free caiparihna. They also offered tours and we did the boat tour which was spoiled by the rain. They also did our laundry for us for a small...

I stayed in both Che Lagarton in Paraty and Ilha Grande. Both were great locations, but that was where the good points ended. I found the majority staff in both hostels to be unfriendly and rude. At no stage did they make me feel welcome, or offer a solo female traveler any tips on what to do in the local...

My experience at this hostel wasn't the best - at 10:30pm the staff moved me into a separate room because the new girls didn't want to share with boys. It would have been ok except they moved me into a room with horrendously noisy dorm mates so didn't get much sleep. The location however was good.

Good location, helpful staff, clean, inviting common area good breakfast although there was no protein. Stayed in a double room with no safe or counter in bathroom. Large bed was great, smaller bed was saggy and smelled a bit of mold but that might have been the wall b/w that bed and the shower. Boat tour the hostel recommended was...

Really enjoyed our stay at this hostel. Breakfast is good, rooms are clean, and nice common areas. This city is truly beautiful and worth a visit. We rented bikes nearby and went to the 3 different waterfalls. One is a natural slide which is a lot of fun!
