Some of you who read this may easily identify with my dilemma.....when you encounter a hotel or inn, whose most attractive feature is its tranquil, secluded atmosphere, what will happen if you recommend it?? Will it become "popular" and as a result lose some of its charm as a haven of peace? This is the case of the Pousada Pardieiro....

I picked this hotel based on a certain websites rating which was rated at 8.6 and excellent. I must say my opinion was very different. The hotel itself is indeed in the centre of the old town and the location is good, what they don’t tell you is that the parking areas is about 500m away and the street you...

The decor makes you turn back time, just like the city. The service was nice, the receptionist very sympathetic. The room was always clean. It has elegant colonial decor and is located in front of a beautiful tropical garden. The breakfast was OK. The location is excellent, in the city center.

I absolutely fell in love with this hotel. The rooms are adorable, clean, and the grounds in the courtyard are nicely decorated and landscaped. The breakfast is very basic but as a complimentary breakfast, it does the trick and the staff offer eggs to those who ask. They were very attentive to our needs. Although the rooms do not have...

I stayed there in february 2016 for 2 nights. The pool needed cleaning and when it was raining, I had a lot of water in the room. Obviously the draining system was not working properly. And at the "costa verde" it is raining a lot. Internet and phone were not working at all - for the whole stay, so I...

We have stayed here on several occasions and this simple pousada with its walled tropical garden. It provides all that you need and has comfortable rooms. Well located for Paraty and the coast it is a haven of peace right in the centre of the town.

Lovely place. Beautiful garden. Nice but reserved staff. Very cute, curious and unreserved (but not threatening) marmoset monkeys. Lovely pool areas and hang out areas to read in the rain. I was in Paraty for 3 days in heavy rain so couldn't really do much but the place was so pretty and peaceful I didn't realm mind just hanging out...

This was my second stay at the Pousada Pardieiro. I like that it is in the old town but it is very quiet, tucked away at the end of a street. The rooms are simple but very well done and comfortable. The grounds are really pretty and the pool nicely situated therein. My only complaint is that the staff are...

We spent six days here after a business visit to Rio. Paraty is a very interesting place but beware the streets in the old town are made up of uneven boulders so they can be treacherous if you're not used to walking on them. We had frequent rain which made walking around even more of an adventure. The boutique hotel...

This pousada presents many benefits: - It is located in the city historical center meaning you'll be able to visit Paraty and live its charm from a privileged point of view; - It is a charming pousada: you won't have TV in rooms and that's the spirit, disconnect from TV, smart phones and emails; - It's gotta a pool and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pousada Pardieiro activities began in 1968 with the purchase of a house in Tenente Francisco Antônio Street 72, where he worked on a small pension in precarious condition, a old house in disrepair. Hence the origin of the name, which continues today to mark the contrast of its evolution over the years. The founding members were the actor Paulo Autran and the lawyer Fabio Vilaboim Carvalho, attracted by the peace, tranquility and beauty of Paraty. Other properties were acquired and adapted to the Inn with the authorization and monitoring of IPHAN (National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage).Today, with 27 apartments, stands out as a typical hotel project in the kinds fits in harmoniously historical context of the old town itself, without breaking the local architectural standards and in full harmony with the landscape bathed by the sea and surrounded by tropical vegetation of the Atlantic region. ... more   less
