Good hotel, clean, close to a subway station and also to the Lapa neighborhood. The rooms are simple, the bed is just ok.
The breakfast doesn't have many options but is enough. The price is the most attractive characteristic.
It was a great location, right downtown, only minutes from Lapa and the Saleron Stairs. Excellent if your trip to Rio revolves around downtown. It's also close to the metro station, so it shouldn't be difficult to get to the beaches (the metro is very...More

Hey, Jess. I've stayed at Monte Castelo hotel three times so I'd say I can confidently tell you that it is quite safe to walk around that town area. There are police around and it is a well lit neighborhood. Now, most international flights land at GIG airport which is a 30-minute distance from town. Taxi service is available. Enjoy your stay.
