Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.

A week before I was scheduled to arrive in Brazil, and check in at Hotel Granada, 'Maiara' from the hotel emailed to say that there was a problem with my reservation. It turned out that because my reservation spanned new year's eve (13 nights in total), they wanted me to pay the

An economic choice with very helpful reception staffs. However, what bothered me the most were the cleaners, who tended no to replace the towels and replenish the toiletry unless I left a tip. Even if I did, the cleaner would still only make the bed at times. I came back at

Clean hotel, great rooftop area with pool and gym. Helpful front desk and nice rooms, good central location and excellent price for what you get - decent breakfast with good variety as well. Would definitely stay there again.

How far is hotel from cocabanna beach thanks
Not near..so taxi is probably best option which is about 30 Brazilian Reais one way. Walking would be probably nearly 2 hours and public transport upto an hour although we didn't try this. We had a couple of coach excursions and asked to be dropped off at the beach and then came back by taxi. If you want to experience the night life of Lapas area I would recommend the hotel.

We'll need to par a car. Can that be done at, or near the hotel?
Honestly, I didn't rent a car, but I am sure you can due to the location. The hotel staff there is great, and it's in the downtown area. I am sure that it won't be difficult. The hotel is a great value, and is very centrally located. If you have a need, they will do all they can to help you out. They run a very good crew there. I hope this helps.

Tudo perto!
