While not on the beach, it is an easy walk. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was o'kay-well pretty good by Brazilian standards. You have to be willing to eat cake for breakfast. Roof top pool lovely with a nice view but usually crowded and don't think you can watch the fireworks from there, because it closes. Rooms were...

Merlin Hotel is situated in a perfect spot. Not too close but just close enough for a stroll to Copacabana beach. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable with air conditioning that was activated with the key card. The pool and rooftop deck was a wonderful spot, I would have liked to see the pool cleaned...

The entrance of the hotel is really nice and good ambience, but once you enter in the hall that take you to the rooms you feel like sardine in can. Horrible colours, no light, seems like a cheap hotel or mutel. But good service and stuff

The hotel is well located - 5 minute stroll to the sands of Copacabana beach with good (and cheap) eating places nearby. You can walk to the Rio Su shopping centre in 5 minutes. The staff were very helpful and had enough English to get by. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Roof top pool area was small but good enough...

I stayed for a week over new year's eve at this clean and well-maintained hotel close to Copacabana beach. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The bed was large and comfortable. The hotel served an adequate breakfast. The free wifi was reliable. The rooftop terrace and pool was very nice. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was...

It was a great pleasure with the spacious room, great breakfast buffet and close and direct walk to the beach. The night view from the outside roof deck was pleasant. The staff was helpful and kind. I look forward to returning to this hotel for future trips to Rio. The only thing that is questionable was the suggestion of a...

The location was fine. Unfortunately the over priced airport pick up service left a sour taste. ($100 Aud). Yes it was late but when the hotel was asked for pick up advice this was their recommendation. When taking a trip the next day they also said their private taxi was the same same as metered taxi. Strangely when questioned the...

The hotel has a beautiful reception and our room was clean and had everything we needed. The big mall is a 5 minute walk through the tunnel and the beach is less than 5 minutes walk. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and yellow taxis are easy to flag down. Breakfast was very good too. The only thing that let...

This hotel does not have a shuttle service to and from the airport but they did offer the names of reputable cab services. From GIG, the cost to the hotel was 130 real. There are plenty of taxi stands waiting to take you wherever you like after securing your luggage. However, the cost to return to the airport, secured by...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
