We arrived hoping to stay for 4 nights but ended up staying 1 and moving to 021 hostel on the next street. If I was to come to Rio again I would stay in another area - perhaps Ipanema. Pros - friendly staff (didn't speak English but tried really hard at helping us when we checked in!) communal kitchen with...

This is a nice, well looked after hostel in the safe-feeling neighbourhood of Botafago. The hostel was always clean and the 10 bed dorm that we stayed in was spacious and had lots of windows for air-flow. There was also a fan and timed air-con. The staff were nice, especially the one girl with long, lighter coloured hair. She spoke...

It is close to the subway station, buses, good supermarket is one block away. Cafofo offers good wifi free of charge. You can book interesting trips at the reception with convinient pickup straight from the hostel. The...

Dear Piotr Thanks for your comments. Some of them will certainly help us make a better place for our guests. However, we must clarify some points. First of all you must have realized we were having renovation works during your stay. It is not possible to do everything at the same time, but we are always improving something. Regarding the...

This is a great hostel! The staff are SO friendly and they all spoke english. They gave honest recommendations and went out of their way to help us out. We really enjoyed the stay at Cafofo hostel. The team was very welcoming, helpful and warm. We stayed in a small but quite comfortable room. Clean, working AC, what else would you ask for this price? Good breakfast!

First of all....this place has no sign to say it's the hostel so look for the blue gate on the left of the street if you're coming from Flamengo station. The road it's on turns into another one so you may not recognise it as the correct one....just to let you know so you don't go wandering for ages in...

Really enjoyed our stay at Cafofo hostel. The owners are so friendly and welcoming and can always be found in the hostel to help with any enquiry. Really makes a difference having the owners present so much. Good facilities and very near to a supermarket and praia botofogo. Also good location for buses to most locations and it is possible...

Although the hostel has nothing really bad, it has nothing really good or outstanding about itself. It's located centrally in Rio in a residential area that is quite rich, but there isn't much around it in terms of shops, restaurants or things to see. There's a supermarket, a petrol station and a local bar. The mattresses and pillows are simply...
