I was just at this hostel for the Rio 2016 Olympics. This place unfortunately does not look like the pristine pictures featured on their website. I feel like the pictures make it appear really modern? But it's not like that at all. It's an old place that has had sub-par remodeling done. They also really need to clean more frequently,...

I am a solo traveller who booked a private room with bathroom. After reading some of the reviews about how noisy some of the rooms are, I asked for a quiet room. I think I was put in the noisiest room, (no.9 above the courtyard bar). For the amount of money they charged per night, you want a good nights...

So after rocking up at this hostel without a reservation we were greeted by the lovely "Rachel"(not sure of Portuguese name). We ended up staying 5 nights split between a private double room and dorm rooms. Both rooms are clean and comfortable. We stayed in the 9 bed dorm... I can imagine if it ever got full it would be...

Cheap design hostel, nice neighborhood, very clean and safe. You can take a hairdryer from reception and book guided tours there. Staff is good, thanks to Gabriela for advices :) Breakfast is simple and nice but I wish there'd be more food. You can use kitchen to cook and fridge to keep your food. The room was nice, luckily there...

I really loved the stay in this hostel: the girls at the reception are very nice and helpful, the rooms and the bathroom are clean and the breakfast in the patio was very good. Moreover, the hostel has a great location becuase it is near to the bus stops, the metro and the shopping center; the kitchen is big and...

Stayed here for 5 nights while in Rio and definitely have a mixed opinion of this place. Location is very good. Central to most things, close to the Metro (need to get this to the beach as to far to walk) and always felt safe here. Lots of places to eat and supermarkets close by also. Kitchen was good also...

I knew hotels in Rio were expensive, but for what I paid to stay in this hotel I expected a lot more. Firstly, the accommodation was poor, everything about it. There were no positives about the room I stayed in. Below my room there is the hostel bar, which seems to stay open till about 4am. So if you're planning...

I was already in Rio and wanted to change hostels. This particular hostel had plenty of free beds , but as I was already in town I emailed them, didn't make a reservation online and made my way to the hostel itself. On my arrival I was turned away immediately as I didn't have a reservation, which made no sense...

The best cost/benefit in the area. New, comfortable and pretty well clean and organized. Nice and friendly staff ready to help you whenever you need. Highly recommended to book directly with them, by email or telephone: you can get cheaper prices them booking through websites like Booking.com

Botafogo
In recent years, Botafogo has become one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Rio. It hosts many modern restaurants with contemporary food and many venues to listen to rock and electronic music. Its numerous bars and pubs make this area a great choice for anyone interested in a great nightlife experience - in fact, some bars in the area are open all night. Casa Daros, an art museum that showcases amazing artists from Latin America, is a must see located in a historical building in Botafogo.
