Okay, it's a 3 star hotel, but the location and the view from the rooftop pool is simply amazing. We had booked a superior room with a balcony and it was big, with a minibar and the bed was comfortable. Very close to Copacabana, only a 3 minutes walk. It was not the biggest breakfast we have had, but plenty...

While the place could use a major overhaul in some areas and a lot to be desired. but the staff was pleasant, friendly, always helpful, and made you feel like you had a home while you are in Rio. The view from there roof top and pool area is excellent. For the price, the location and quality may be hard...

There are 8 rooms per floor. The ones ending 03, 04, 05, and 06 are tiny, airless and nasty. Don't take the chance of staying in these rooms. The others are bigger and better. The staff are nice and the location is good. But my time here was miserable.

I feel like I'm an expert in the Copa Rio hotel since I've spent 20 days here for the Olympics. I would recommend it. The location is very good, with a friendly little cafe/night spot around the corner (Follies) and a high-quality buffet place next door (Temperate), and the beach is only a block away. You can also walk to...

Basic hotel very tired room with wall view no outside window. The only good thing was rooftop pool and great views apart from that it was expensive for a sad room. Location is good for both beaches and breakfast passable but not great . Overall was good location.

Friend and myself decided to spend 4-days in Rio, en-route to Machu Picchu, Peru. We were traveling thrifty and found Copacabana Rio, reasonably priced and well located. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast, included in the price was scrumptious and sufficient to keep you going well into the day. Recommend the delicious and freshly made crispy bread rolls. The initial...

Basic poky room. My husband and I checked in and unfortunately I had broken my foot a few days prior to our arrival. Amazing roof top swimming pool and a tasty buffet breakfast. Service with a smile would have made it a much better experience.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
