I travel for work all over the world and I have been in hundreds of hotels and I am usually very critical, however, the quality/price ratio and the service at the Promenade Visconti impressed me!!! I had a minor AC issue in my room when I arrived and the hotel offered me an upgraded room without me even complaining about...

Really nice hotel. By far and away cheaper than the majority of hotels in the area and you get a really nice clean room for your money. Large comfortable bed, big powerful shower, good furniture and clean all over. Helpful English speaking reception staff, excellent breakfast, good location close to the beach. Room window views are a bit poor but...

Stayed here for a second time (1st time in 2011). Location is still excellent as is breakfast. But the rooms do need to be upgraded: The bed was uncomfortable; the air conditioning didn't work properly; and the bathrooms are still very dated. Staff are friendly though.

The rooms were comfortable and clear, the hotel was only a block from the beach and boutique restaurants. However, we really appreciated how they accommodated our difficult schedule that had us flying out of town a nearly midnight. After some flexibility with a late check-out request, they then allowed us to store our luggage so we could enjoy the rest...

Promenade Visconti Hotel is one of the worst Hotel experience I ever lived. Very very rude staff, moody, unflexible, and unhelpful, (Not a service you wish to receive after a long journey from Europe to Rio) They refused to give us our pre-booked double room because we were travelling with a young toddler. They wanted to charger us £100 extra...

The excellent location of this hotel is really what makes it a great choice. Combined with the relatively reasonable price (for Rio standards), it's a choice I would make again, if I looking to stay near the beach and especially the cool Ypanema area. The rooms were nothing special, but nothing really wrong with them either, and breakfast was good.

Promenade Visconti's location is perfect: a block from the beach and a block from the main street. The room (top floor) was spacious and nicely furnished. It also had a safe. The wifi was free and fast. The selection of food at breakfast was good; everything was tasty. The staff were most friendly and helpful. Other reviewers have complained about...

Well we always look carefully on Trip Advisor to select hotels but it seems that some reviews are really over rated or maybe we are getting more difficult in our quest !! The rooms from this "hotel" look like old fashion appartment without anything special, breakfast is poor and cereals were not fresh, we asked the hotel to book us...

My wife and I conducted lots of research before selecting a hotel in Ipanema and the Promenade fully met and indeed exceeded our expectations. The room was a good size, the bathroom excellent and the hotel facilites entirely suitable for travellers like us who were spending most of the day out sightseeing. But we were perhaps fortunate to be able...

This is not really an apartment hotel, some rooms only. Very basic amenities included (hair dryer), no coffee or tea. Very expensive for what you actually get, the staff are also less then friendly. Try somewhere else as there are plenty of options in Rio.
