Had a great stay at Lemon Spirit Hostel. The guys on the front desk, Gaspar & Thiago, were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We've been travelling all around Brasil for 2 weeks now and Panda the Bar Man really does do the best caipirinhas in all of Brasil! We met loads of cool people. The breakfast was...

You simply cannot beat the location, 2 minutes to Ipanema beach and a short walk to leblon shopping etc! Staff were really friendly, rooms were clean and secure. The one drawback was the atmosphere - not a great deal going on so if you're looking for a party head to lapa or somewhere similar! We enjoyed our stay there!

This hostel is in the best area of Rio! I was so happy I choose my stay at Lemon Spirit as the location is perfect! I felt as though I was outside the crazy areas and really able to walk the streets with locals and not only tourist. Two blocks from the beach and a block from the main street...

Lemon Spirit has a fantastic location in the safer neighbourhood of Leblon. The staff are extremely friendly and speak great english, especially Anita at reception and Panda at the Bar. The hostel is also very sociable but it is let down by the rooms themselves. The rooms have a somewhat distinctive smell, fairly uncomfortable beds and are noisy. They are...

Great hostel a couple blocks from the beach. It was quiet when I stayed here, but even so I met lots of people and had a good time. The rooms need updating and they aren't the most comfortable beds, but everything else makes up for it. Hot showers and clean bathrooms. Breakfast was good. The staff all speak English and...

Stayed here with a friend in a 4-bed mixed dorm. Our room was actually the top room, so a few stairs to climb. It was small, but comfortable. There is a storage area under the beds (that fit my suitcase), plus lockers on each floor. The bathrooms are on the floor below, with stalls for shower & toilet. Plus sinks....

First off, I want to say this hostel is worth every.single.dollar!!! This is probably top 3 hostels on the planet for me, because it was so well-rounded and really attracts the best crowd. With that being said, keep in mind Rio is not a cheap city in the first place. My 6-female dorm was about $28USD per night. Super clean,...

I stayed in this Hostel for 2 weeks close to the period of carnival and had an enjoyable stay! The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean, with plenty of space to lock your stuff. There is a nice outdoor area and bar for socializing and breakfast was pretty good. The hostel is very close to Leblon and Ipananema beach as well...

Leblon
In addition to being one of the most upscale neighbourhoods in the city, Leblon is charming, elegant and simple. This posh area has some of the most famous and expensive restaurants in Brazil, along with some of the city’s best nightlife (including some places open all night). One of the best places to visit is the beach, located under the impressive “Morro Dois Irmãos” (Two Brothers Hill). It’s a pleasant place to relax and admire the local beauty.
