We stayed here for 3 nights during our stay in Rio and were happy with what we got for the price. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak English. The atmosphere in the hostel is great, and the communal garden / bar area closes up at 10pm so you can still get a good sleep if needed. Breakfast...

I stayed here for the week following Carnaval with my sister in the 12 bed mixed dorm. Upon arrival we thought the hostel looked great - lovely building with big airy rooms and a lot of communal areas. Unfortunately an array of problems begun soon after we arrived. Having been given my bed I was promptly kicked out by an...

Stayed here in a dorm for one night and private room for another two. The hostel is in a great location and is tucked away so not too noisy from the street. The hostel is nicely done and is very big with plenty of space to chill out. The wifi is pretty good and works well when there aren't too...

The hostel itself is sort of average. The room was ok and toilet was quite clean, but the hostel as a whole is quite worn down. The major attraction point was its location to Ipanema beach and to be shops. Of course English speaking staff also helps.

Beautiful hostel at one block from ipanema beach (awesome sunsets over there!) Very clean and staff very helpful. Close to the metro and to the famous restaurant "garota de Ipanema" (girl from ipanema) I had a great stay!

Stayed there for 4 nights. We booked the standar suite to get a bit more privacy, which doesn't happen because it is right up the kitchen and patios area, so if it wasn't the noise what woke u up, it was the smell. Inside que had a tv with sky, neither one worked during the whole stay and the access...

Great helpful staff always helping me with my requests before I booked online in the fear of missing out on accommodation when I got to Rio as I was told it will fill and this area gets very busy. So I accepted the R80+6 booking fee as high as it was. I find out the day I am to leave...

I stayed in the Mango Tree Hostel in April 2016. We chose deluxe rooms with private bathrooms and they were small, but clean and really nice. The hostel has a wide variety of options for breakfast and the service was always very kind. They even helped us to contact a tour agency to do a city tour and gave us...

I have been to Mango Tree Hostel and stayed in the deluxe room with private bathroom. The room has one queen size bed, one single bed and a bathroom which is fine. But the problem is that we can hear all of the noise from outside. Water flush, opened and closed doors, fan engine... I have been woked up every...
