Casa Beleza is truly amazing, from its superb breakfasts to its beautiful surroundings. Overall Casa Beleza is a wonderful place to stay when looking for a B&B in Rio. The rooms are quaint, with a very at home feeling to them. We happened to stay in the bungalow that sits above the main house. The room is a good size...

The name says it all. Casa beleza is teeming with character, an absolute gem tucked away behind mansion walls. Every one of the beautifully kept rooms has its own theme and original features. Bindu and her team couldn't have been more accommodating, giving us all of the insider tips for Rio, and we were welcomed with caipirinhas on arrival! Breakfasts...

We stayed at Casa Beleza for three nights during our stay in Rio. Santa Teresa is a great place to stay if you want to avoid the slightly tackier end of town. Bindu and Albert were perfect hosts, arranged transport to and from the area and made some excellent recommendations for restaurants etc. in the area. We stayed in the...

Ola from Rio! Thanks so much for your positive review, I am so glad to know you enjoyed your stay with us and the charms of Santa Teresa. We also really appreciate your feedback as we are always looking to improve Casa Beleza, and are looking to remedy the points you mention right now, as we speak! So thanks for...

Casa Beleza is charming in every sense of the word. A hidden treasure in the maze of cobbled streets of Santa Teresa, it is convenient and yet offers a feeling of seclusion that makes you feel as if it is your own private sanctuary. The hosts are kind beyond measure and your every travel need; taxis, tours, information, reservations...delicious cocktails;...

In short, stay here! Lovely place to stay set in beautiful grounds with a pool. We stayed for 4 nights in the loft room which was perfect. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious and always served with a smile. Bindhu was the perfect hostess, always willing to chat and full of helpful tips. Her advice (especially booking a visit to...

A gracious house set on a hill overlooking Rio, breakfast complete with toucans and a tortoise couple in a tropical garden, a quick swim to cool down at the end of a day, wandering the cobblestoned streets of Santa Teresa - we could go on and on. But what stands out about our stay with Bindu and Antoine at Casa...

My wife and I (33 & 32 from London) stayed for six nights during a trip to Brazil. The property is terrific, rooms very comfortable and the gardens are lovely. The hosts are very informative and helpful and speak Portuguese, French and English (and maybe more, who knows). The staff who do the breakfast service, maintain the garden and make...

We stayed at Casa Beleza for a week during the carnival. Its the perfect place to stay. There are many local parties in the area of Santa Teresa. Its walking distance to the Sambadrome. The house is paradisiacal - a laguna of calm but still close to the action. This was the third time we have stayed in Casa Beleza....

We just returned from Brazil having spent a week in March at Casa Beleza. It was a very lovely place to stay in Rio and I can’t recommend it more highly. My husband and I stayed in the Orange room. It was a beautiful corner room with large windows on two sides overlooking the garden. The room doesn’t have a/c,...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
