Going to Brazil was my first international trip in a few years, thanks to Covid and having a baby—and the staff at Emiliano made everything so easy! I was overwhelmed in the best possible way by the attention we got during our stay. Our trip ended up being delayed 48hrs due to weather delays, and before we even arrived, Emiliano essentially refunded us our first night when I told them we wouldn’t be able to make it as scheduled. Then we got there and the room was ready with a crib and fresh fruit, we had a delicious lunch at the hotel (where the host (I think his name was Melo?) went the extra mile to bring my daughter some things to color with!!), and staff was ready to help us plan our days in SP. Special shout out to Evelyn, Eva, and Mira at the front desk who all helped make our trip special. Evelyn in particular reached out to some local moms for recommendations on child-friendly activities!! There was a snafu on our last morning when the driver we had arranged through the hotel didn’t arrive on time and we had to cancel our plans. They did give us a hand written apology and an adorable gift (Havianas for my baby!) as we departed. We stayed in the Emiliano Suite, which I found to be lovely and contemporary (some other reviews note that rooms seem dated, but that wasn’t our experience). I agree the elevators are teeny and slow. But the hospitality more than made up for smaller issues like these.…
Best class. Elegance and amazing experience in the lobby bar. Great and well trained staff, highlight to Joyce and Igor. Lovely drinks, wines and appetizers for a happy hour or even a business meeting. Amazing location, music, and ambiance.
We are regular travellers to Brazil and we always spend a few days in São Paulo en route to our final destination. Normally in São Paulo we stay in Jardims and have used another high end hotel in the past. This time we decided to stay at the Emiliano both at the start and end of trip. First stay: We had arrived in SP and upon arrival, my spouse received some bad news regarding a death in the family. I had mentioned this to the front desk - just to give them a heads up. Within minutes, we were taken to our room. Shortly thereafter, a bouquet of roses arrived for my wife with a very thoughtful handwritten note from the manager. Very classy touch. We were only there for one night but the staff made everything special for us. We just checked in yesterday and once again, the professionalism and high standard of service was simply incredible. A special shoutout to Derek - who is one of the most attentive and his commitment to service was simply outstanding. A true professional in his field. All the staff have been incredible on this stay. Since we are going to be in SP for at least 5-6 times a year, we are going to make the Emiliano our new temporary home. Other things to note: The rooms are great. If you don't feel like going out, the room service menu is not only diverse, but the food is really good. Location - cannot be beat. Right in the heart of Jardims on Oscar Freire. Very safe area with great restaurants. Our new home in São Paulo!!…
This is our first trip to Brazil and we arrived in São Paulo for a 4 day stay before traveling on to Rio. American Express recommended this hotel. Upon arriving at the airport at 9:00 AM the hotel car that was supposed to pick us up was nowhere in sight so we had to take a cab ( it’s OK they were very apologetic and gave us free transport back to airport on our way to Rio) Once we got the hotel the service was excellent and we were taken to our room right away, early check in was no problem . The one bedroom was quite spacious if not a little dated, and the bathroom was on the small side with one sink but other than that very comfortable. The concierge staff were wonderful and gave us phenomenal recommendations and helped us with directions! Shout out to Evelyn and Pierro! There were only 3 issues with our stay 1- I hate to say this but the restaurant is NOT good at all. We had room service twice and had lunch and breakfast downstairs and each time was a real disappointment. The menu is limited and what you can order is not tasty and usually cold. They really need to overhaul that kitchen and spice up the menu. 2 Two tiny slow elevators for 20 + floors? Sometimes it took 10-15 minutes to get an elevator 3. Spa was meh. I had a $50 credit from AmEx or would have skipped it. The massage was just OK and it’s very limited in services. Otherwise I loved the staff and location and would stay there again!…
We stayed in Emiliano in pre-pandemic times and considered it a perfect hotel for a city stay. Just for the sake of it, if I want to think what else to wish them to do for the rooms and from the point of view of service and I can’t figure it out. And it isn’t easy to get me to say something like this. So, this time when we had to spend less than 24 hours in Sao Paulo and even landing in GRU after midnight we decided to spend about 1 hour to get to Emiliano and 1 hour back next day rather than staying in any of the hotels close to the airport. Their rooms and service are worth it and we were sure we will have a good rest before hitting the road again. We were wrong about the rest. After usual check-in procedures were finished, the receptionist suddenly told us: “yes, and one more thing: tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. there will be noise, we are renovating the spa”. It didn’t promise anything good, but, OK, there are different types of noise and there was nothing we could do standing in front of Emiliano reception at nearly 02:00 a.m. anyhow. Exactly at 11:00 a.m. next morning mayhem started. Not just some noise. It was breaking the walls with the whole building shaking. Not possible not only to sleep, work (and I do need to do some work on a computer every morning), impossible to stay in a room. Forget about further resting (and we had a couple more hours). Of course, every hotel needs regular renovations to keep up its level. But if you are planning works of this magnitude – choose a low season time, close down for couple of weeks, give you employees their vacations and break your walls as much as you wish. Or at least have enough decency to put information about works pending or going on your site. This is what hotels respecting their guests and themselves normally do. And then everyone can make their own decision. The schedule of works going on in Emiliano are from 11:00 to 17:00. If someone knows that he/she will not be in the hotel during these hours – of course, they will book regardless, since the works will have no affect on them. While if someone else, like us, is planning to be spending some daytime in the hotel and they need to be in Sao Paulo exactly at a time coinciding with the works – they can just book another hotel for this stay. No hard feelings. We paid USD 400+ for a Deluxe room, not even for a Suite (Emiliano is far from being cheap, but before it was worth it), we were looking forward and were planning to unwind in between not the easiest of flights and what did we get? Just for the sake of justice on the day we stayed there I visited Emiliano’s site to make sure there is no announcement of these works that I missed. There was not. Only lengthy promises to take care of all details of anyone’s stay. Right.…
We were in town for a few days and we can't say enough incredible things about this property. Location was right in the middle of Jardins, walking distance to some of the best restaurants and shopping. They upgraded us into a suite that has to be one of the best designed and most comfortable spaces I've ever had in a hotel. The staff was different level good... really, everyone at this hotel went above and beyond to help us and take care of our requests. We are starting to do more business in SP and this will be my go-to every trip. Thank you to the incredible team at Emiliano SP!
Not my first visit to this small, luxurious and perfectly located 'home away from home'. But it never disappoints! Never ceases to impress me when you arrive from a transcontinental flight and are greeted by your name by the valet team, or when you go for breakfast and the service, table and food are impeccable, and your room can hold a cocktail party from your closes 15 friends! Speaking of rooms, these are superbly sophisticated spaces that rival any contemporary home in Rome or Paris!
I'm a frequent traveler to SP for business and usually stay at the competitor Fasano. This time I decided to try Emiliano. Overall, the stay was as expected. The highlights I would say are friendly and professional staff, and the nice breakfast. The biggest two disappointments are the slow elevators. There are only two elevators for 20 floors and both staff and guests use these two so heavy traffic most of the time. The other negative is that the default water they serve at the cafe is Evian which they charge BRL 28 per small plastic bottle versus a Brazilian water which you need to specify and they charge BRL 9. I find that cheeky if not outright dishonest. Additionally, in this day of global footprint awareness, serving as the default a French spring water when Brazil is the source of 80% of the planet's freshwater strikes me as out of touch with reality. Comment to management: change this policy and make the default the Brazilian less expensive water. You will earn a few carbon credits.…
We just stayed at Emeliano in Sao paulo, almost no one speaks english, its a small hotel with no pool and the staff is not helpful nor friendly. Never again! The lobby is too dark and rooms very small with a small hallway.
Emiliano is very well known hotel in Sao Paulo due to its location, food and it was by its service. I emphatic write “it was” due to a very awful situation there. I was celebrating my wedding anniversary on the hotel, and to make sure it turns into a memorable moment I was changing emails almost everyday for 2 weeks long, before my arrival, with the concierge team of the hotel. Well, did I receive at least a happy anniversary by anyone of the hotel during all my 2 nights long? NO! Did I receive any courtesy due to the moment? NO! Did I try during the stay to make someone corrects that? YES. But it seems everything they want to make is profit! Profits on upselling a better suite. Profits by everything you want to decorate the room. Profits even at coffee capsule, which I have never seem anywhere outside Brazil in 5 stars hotel. It is sad to write that because I knew the owner of Emiliano Rio and Sao Paulo, who sadly has passed away some years ago. And what I could notice on this last stay is a mediocre service, where you are not well served and where you have an old building with just two elevators for guests and staff what makes 10 minutes’ wait for taking it and going to breakfast a normal situation. I am sorry Emiliano to write that, because I was really fond of the hotel, but since we are not welcome properly anymore, things have to move on. I would suggest you to take care going to Emiliano for Celebrate anything or enjoy a Leisure Trip. Unhappily the hotel is not the same as it was in the near past.…
