It's a real treat to stay at this Pousada. The staff are exceptionally attentive. They even mailed my partner's sunglasses to us when they found them after we left (without us asking). The setting is stunning, the food is fabulous, and everything is thought of to make your stay fun and relaxing.

Loved the hotel. Great location which felt remote enough but was also near the local village where simple meals for lunch plus cheap beers could be bought. Our room was on the small side and the air-conditioning needed resetting to be cool enough. Small balcony with views of the pool. Great swimming pool and deck with lovely views across the... More

We stayed for 3 night in Feb 2016 - the food was great, imagine fishing during the day and them serving it for lunch! Amazing dinners, friendly staff - not a place to go if you need to be entertained with activities. The staff couldn't have been more helpful - with only about 20 people staying there at a time... We stayed four nights, enjoying a lazy end to our vacation with a group of 12 friends. We had mostly the run of the place including the owner's house adjacent to the main hotel. The style is simple, chic, and well suited to the tropical climate. The hotel was an old estate and the owners are renovating other houses in... More

Picinguaba is a magical town in a beautiful bay. This pousada is a gem inside a gem. Best location, best service, best views, best everything. The staff was amazing and I was sad to leave. 100% recommended.

We arrived in Picinguaba during carnival and the beach was filled with people, out of the throng were three white uniformed people from the pousada. Two porters and a hostess who guided us up the hill to the beautiful garden of the premise and a view that will take your breath away! This place is exquisite, colonial in features and... More

If well travelled and looking for a new experience with comfort this location is perfect. The rooms are a little small due to the architecture of a converted Hacienda style private residence. The two suites are beautiful light large with amazing views. The pool area very nice after returning from some beautiful hikes along the coast to remote beaches and... More

This really an amazing place. Highly recommended but there are some problems and it is expensive, so here are the advantages and disadvantaes so you could make up your own mind: Advantages: 1. Amazing view either from your room (rooms 1-4) or AMAZING swimming-pool deck. 2. Beautiful location on an atmosphering fisherman's village on the costa verde. 3. Helpful staf,... More

Pousada Picinguaba is a beautiful colonial style building with 20-somethig rooms with a gorgeous view. The great's charm, in my opinion, is that picinguaba is a small fishermen village, inside a protected park, with a very easygoing way of life. Perfect to plug off the world! Pros: Staff (all locals) Pool view Activity offered by the pousada Dinner - local... More

This place is not the place for a honeymoon. The hotel Picinguaba overlooks a peaceful bay at the heart of the Natural Park of Serra do Mar, the tropical coastal forest running between Rio and São Paulo, about half an hour's drive south of Paraty. It is the only charming hotel in a 30km radius. It faces the sea and a 3 km-long protected sandy beach. The hotel offers (09) nine comfortable rooms all opening onto the natural surroundings and the sea, including a dream honeymoon Suite with en suite jacuzzi and a breathtaking view of the ocean. The local road stops at the beach and one has to walk the last 250m to the hotel, nestled in the forest.Everything here is attuned to the spirit of the place, with nothing to disturb nature's magic: no TV or telephone in the rooms, no Internet, no air-conditioning. This place is for you to be in a different world, the only sounds are the wind in the palm trees and the sea gently lapping the shore.Pousada Picinguaba was selected in HIP HOTELS as one of the 80 most extraordinary hotels around the world and was featured in National Geographic Stay List 2011. ... more   less
