Unfortunately we only had one night here but we would have stayed longer. We had a double room, shared bathroom and everything was good. Clean room and bathroom, hot water, there was always a bathroom available. Friendly staff. Great location, close to bus station. They let us wait in the hostel until our bus at midnight which was very kind...

Can't say enough nice things about this place. The owner is so friendly, the whole family make you feel so welcome and can't do enough for you.Clean, good price, good wifi, unlimited free tea and coffee, lovely sunny garden, perpetual hot water and a pleasant 5 minute stroll into town. Also only a minutes walk (literally) from the bus station...

I had a lovely stay at this hostel. The family are very warm & welcoming. Maria greeted me with custard & poached apples! Mauricio had plenty of travel tips for La Serena & surrounding areas and even tailor made my itinery for the 2 days to spend there. It is a comfortable, peaceful, clean, and well maintained place to rest.

A really friendly, welcoming hostel - clean and comfortable, like home! Maria and her family are super welcoming - she made me a mug of coffee as soon as I arrived and there was no shortage of great tips and advice about where to get a great lunch or take a day trip and help us with a hostel at...

My gf and I stayed here s couple of times and we were blown away by Maria snd her sons' kindness. We were treated like one of the family and had great experience in their clean, friendly and perfectly set up hostel in La serena. Its only 5 minutes, down an unsuspecting, street from the bus terminal. One night we...

Found this hostel by chance walking from the bus station to the main plaza when we were approached by owner and offered a really good deal. The hostel was ten minutes from bus station and 15 minutes from main plaza, 15 minutes from supermarket and around 30 minutes from the beach. The hostel is run by a lovely warm and...

I contacted Hostal Maria Casa for availability and a Hostal called El Observatorio answered. They said Maria Casa was full but we could stay at El Observatorio. I accepted as it seemed like they were affiliated and that the quality should be the same. The Hostal is located close to the bus station which suited us well, but the town...

I agree with all the other reviews.... good points... - great budget price (especially coming from pricey San Pedro) - handy location (so close to bus station, supermarket and shopping malls, short walk into town) - friendly family (sons speak excellent English and can help arrange tours) - good kitchen and tea/coffee available anytime - comfortable rooms (not all have...
