We found this place to be clean and functional and friendly place to stay with value for money. If you want to stay in La Serena city centre then this is the place. If you have a car then there is a safe car park nearby and we paid CLP4,500 for overnight.

I arrived to Casa Tamaya on my own and without a reservation. The room available was upstairs with a shared bathroom. The room was small but pleasant and clean, with a chest of drawers and television. The bathroom was very clean, modern and, yes, the water was hot. I had to share with two other rooms and at no stage...

Excellent place to spend a weekend, our room with bathroom were clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good, they also have a share kitchen if you want to prepare your own meals. The staff is very kind and at the front desk they speak good english. Good location, short distance from downtown shops and restaurants. Highly recommended

Very nice hostal in la Serena. Good location, nice place with interesting decoration, mix of traditional and trendy taste, well furnished, excellent breakfast. We had the first room near main entrance, where the wifi was low. First night the hot water was not working, but the helpful staff fixed it quickly. Nice garden and common area. Very kind staff who...

I was traveling with my wife and my parents on a tour of Northern Chile. We traveled in early March 2013 and stayed in the 2 bedroom private bathroom suite. We were on the 2nd floor and we noticed a lot of noise carried through the floor especially with my 250lb.+ Dad walking around, which would have been a nuasance...

This hostal actually has two names - Casa Tamaya and Hostal Terra Diaguita. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my husband and 2 children - 3 and 8 years old. We got the quadruple room with private bathroom which was perfect. The kids had their own room with bunkbeds and we had a separate room. The room...

I agree that this hostal is located very well in the center of La Serena. The decoration is really nice. On the other hand, there is only one bathroom on a collection of rooms around the spacious (and there are no separate toilets either) garden. During my stay I recognized later on that there is also a bathroom on the...

My boyfriend and I arrived here at night and didn't have a reservation. Luckily there was one room available. Casa Tamaya was great! We had a comfortable room with a heated bed and television. The courtyard is gorgeous! It's decorated with white lights and Chilian style decor. There is a fire pit, so we enjoyed a nice campfire before bed!...

Very charming hostel with a lovely and spacious room and a really good bed. Beautiful common area where we spent our evenings. The downside to this hostel was the owner's attitude: We booked on the phone some four or five days ahead directly with the owner. We received the room as we arrived although it seemed they weren't really expecting...
