I have been traveling to Ski Portillo nearly every season since 2000. I've experienced both significant and slight snow years alike, and one thing continues to stay the same... the experience is always exceptional, regardless of snow conditions. Portillo is about truly getting away and immersing yourself in something truly special. From the simplicity of life at Portillo to the... More

My first visit to Portillo was September 1970, was wonderful then as now. Snow conditions were typical spring, icy until 11 a.m. with corn to slush later in day. Limited runs due to U.S. & Canada ski team practice but fun with great folks from all over the world. Meals are great but the meats were overcooked so I stayed... More

Been here twice with a renowned sporting team -- this may have affected (positively) our experience. Breathtaking scenery. Skiing is super -- at the end of the season it may get spring-y, yet in 2015 we got 6 feet and the roads were closed a week from the end. Food and restaurant service have been fantastic for us. Dunno what... More

I just came back after a week of skiing. I teach in Vail. It was fun to be on the same floor as Vonn, Shiffrin and Ligety, but the Spring skiing was very limited ( warm, and they hadn't gotten snow in over a month). The hotel has great entertainment and really good food ( all included for ~ $300/day,... More

My husband and I spent a week in Portillo. We are glad for the experience, but we wouldn't do it the same way if we go back. The resort is worth going to simply for the views on a sunny day (as many Santiago residents do on weekends). Set on the shore of Inca Lake and above treeline, we saw... More

This place is the best all- inclusive Hotell I have ever been to . Excellent service and very friendly and helpful staff . The scenery can't get any better . Tea time is legendary , sitting on the terrace looking at the lake and the surrounding Andes .

My husband and I just returned from our amazing adventure in Chile. We enjoyed Portillo but had a problem with the arrival as the road about 20klms from the hotel closes every night at 8pm in the Winter. If you call the hotel or advise them in advance of your late arrival the appropriate arrangements will be made. Our agent... More

We just spent 4 days at Portillo and had an amazing experience! The hotel is more than 60 years old, but has been renovated and has all the amenities to make a good ski resort experience. Our room was more on the small size but comfortable and with everything we needed to be able to rest and relax after a... More

The hotel is set in the most beautiful spot! Front desk staff is helpful, Felipe the hotel Manager (AKA the cruise director) is friendly and enthusiastic. Housekeepers are terrific and keep the somewhat out of date rooms looking their best. Beds are not great but not awful. Skiing and everything to do with it is the highlight and saving grace... More

We came to see the view of the lake and the high mountains. Finding this hotel, open out of the ski season and serving wonderful food was a bonus. The seafood risotto was a delight and no too expensive. Charming Great St Bernard dog by the door. There is a short lake side walk, but in the heat of summer... More
