The Ala hotel cost us £11 a night for a room (100 yuan) and with the cost considered the hotel was fine. We used it as a base so we could see the Huangshan mountain and it served its purpose. The bed was very hard but other than that the, hote wasl generally clean and (other than a constantly flashing... More

The highlight from this place has got to be the helpful and heartful frontdeskers. You can tell the hotel is well-networked and they can try to help for most advanced booking of buses or cars. Especially the kind lady who helms the frontdesk and running of the business, we cannot express enough thanks to her for giving us many suggestions... More

The rooms are worn out and the ceilings really need a new layer of paint. The first room we got even had mold and cobwebs in the ceiling, so we asked for a new room which luckily was available and in much better shape, but still the ceiling was not exactly eye candy. However, taking the price into account, this... More

We arrived by bus from Shanghai, and the bus stopped in the nowhere land (really it was so confusing), fortunately a man said that we should take a walk to 1314 inn, and the staff from 1314 inn will call to the Ala Hotel to pick up. The room is spacious but need repainting. Stayed for 2 nights, but the... More

Good value, clean enough, hot shower, but in fitting with the theme of the town, very basic, bare bones, and lacking any character. Service was ok, their restaurant was the best we could find in the town. In walking distance of the buses to the mountain. We were there in December and it was quite chilly. There were indoor heating... More

This hotel is on the main street, it is inexpensive, good price, and very clean. The rooms were pleasant, there was a hot shower. We enjoyed our one night stay, and it was easy access to Huangshan yellow mountain for the trekking. The staff was really nice and helpful too.

Overall this hotel was excellent value for money for our night before starting our trek up into the Yellow Mountains. It is a very reasonable hotel (we paid £9 a night for a double room with ensuite and tv!), it is basic but it was clean and the room was big. For the price you couldn't ask for much more.... More

The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from the starting bus stop that picks up passenger to Huang Shan. Rooms are decent, restaurant's food are proper and reasonably priced. The owner of the shop who shares mountain hiking route on daily basis is a real plus point. Their breakfast set that comes with hard boiled egg and little buns are... More

The hotel is a bit run down. But location is ok. Walking distance to the bus station. The best part is this hotel provide transport service from the bus station to the hotel when you first arrived. There is many food shops and mini marts around. But all the mini marts are selling the same things. Opposite the bus station... More

This hotel is a 7 minute walk from where the bus from Hangzhou drops off. It is 10 minutes walk to the 19¥ bus that takes to the scenic area and close to an ATM and supermarkets which are slightly cheaper than the one downstairs in the hotel. We stayed in the older part which didn't have a lift but... More
