We loved this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean ,bathroom beautifully appointed(no tub, just a shower)The water had to run for a few minutes before it was warm.Beds and towels changed daily and fresh fruit and bottled water left for you each day.We looked out on to local flats and our room was very quiet.Free internet... We had a wonderful stay at the Magnolia. We accidentially booked a delux room (rather than standard) and ended up in a large corner room with a sitting area and lots of light. It is in a wonderful location too! Two complaints - 1) the water was not hot - the best we got out of it was lukewarm; 2)... More

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Magnolia. We had originally booked for 2 nights but found Yangshuo delightful and the Magnolia Hotel very comfortable so we stayed the extra night. Our booking was made directly over the internet with Jasmine, and even after we had difficulty with a credit card deposit not being able to be processed,... More

Good hotel with charming and helpful staff. We stayed 6 nights in deluxe Room 306 - very spacious (the largest room in the hotel) with a lovely sitting area and views. We looked into Room 307 (the one with the roof garden) but it has no view and is not nearly as large although it might be a little quieter... More

We booked at the last minute, having decided to stay in Yangshuo (rather than Guilin) during a work trip to Beijing. Glad we made the choice, both of the town and the hotel. As everyone has noted, Yangshuo can get a bit noisy at night, and the noise did waft up to our room at the Magnolia. But what a... More

We arrived late in the evening early August 2007, to find the hotel had given our deluxe room away, despite two e-mail confirmations. They gave us a regular room fronting the street. Loud noise an traffic till past midnight. The rooms themselves are clean. The bathroom clean and functional. Service was OK. The air conditioning worked well, which was good... More

This hotel is a little gem. We had a family apartment here - one double room, one twin room, bathroom and small sitting area, and the rooms were simply but tastefully furnished. They were quite small - may have developed cabin fever if there for a while but for 3 nights with 3 of us it was fine. We peeked... More

We stayed in a family room which was 2 bedrooms, a living room area and 1 bathroom for 480RMB per night, no breakfast for 4 nights. The location was great for hitting the shopping on West Street, but a bit noisy from all the bar action at night. While the bathroom has that sleek, modern look it was clear that... More

For our stay in Yangshou we decided to go for a little luxury and go beyond the backpacker haunts. The Magnolia showed up top in reviews, both on Trip Advisor and Thorn Tree and we were not disappointed. Lovely large room with a relatively soft bed, given the rest of our China experience. Nice touches with fruit and water in... More

Stayed at the Magnolia for three nights in room 307, the only one with a small garden and on a quiet street. The hotel is relatively nes. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. If I return to Yangshuo, this will be my first choice. It is close to the heart of town yet located from the noisy hustle... More
