We visited in late October. The common areas were unheated, there were holes in the bed blankets, the hotel buiding had an odd odor, and all hotel amenities were closed except for the breakfast in the restaurant. I realize it was off-season and my expectations for the area already were not high, but even so, this property disappointed.

This may be a 5 star hotel in China but not according to European or American standards. Customer service is very poor. Wifi rarely works and the staff makes no attempt to correct. In addition the rooms and bathroom are not particularly clean. Only good feature is that it is close to the Turpan Museum.

This hotel seems not to have been maintained since it was opened. When we arrived around midday, there were no visitors to be seen and the whole lobby was dark. Walking from the front desk to the elevators showed a hotel that was completely dark and not in use. We stayed for two nights and saw none of the amenities...

The Hotel is in a central location in the town near the market and museum. It was built some time ago when the oil industry was booming. Lacking maintenance and an average service level make the Hotel older than it really is. The rooms are handsome but look used. The windows of the room have not been cleaned for a...

A hotel without any maintenance or care by the staff , management and owner. Very dirty rooms, worn out carpets you hardly dare to walk on. Broken furniture, a minibar-fridge in the middle of nowhere with nothing inside, but running! The backside of the bed - made of a plastic leather imitation - peels of and covers the pillows, so...

On paper this should be a very nice place to stay. It claims to be a 5 star hotel, and boasts a wide variety of amenities such as bowling, billiards and a swimming pool. The room was clean enough and comfortable. Wifi was very dodgy and slow. We had major trouble connecting as all the 5 routers we could connect...

Perfectly acceptable, but raises questions about Chinese hotel star rating. Tuha Hotel boasts 5 stars, but both rooms and common areas are somewhat dismal. The room smelled bad, and they seemed to be saving electricity by keeping public areas quite dark. Contrary to mmutti2000's review, there was indeed (instant) coffee at the breakfast buffet. But I do agree that the...

The TuHa Petroleum Hotel in Turpan thanks its name to its parent company, which is exploiting oil near the cities of Turpan and Hami in western China. Except that employees of the oil company are staying occasionally at the hotel, there is no connection to the oil business. It is a very decent 5 star hotel with good facilities and...

There was a gas shutdown that night and we were warned there would be no hot water. Weather was cold at 0 degC. Imagine finding residual hot water upon checkin.Quickly took our bath. Room was spacious and the vathroom was clean. We are in rural China where the residents are poor. Look at their quarters. So I would regard this...

Very typical Chinese tourist class hotel. Breakfast was a sad affair; no coffee. It was in a convenient location at least. Bed was very hard, also, typical for Chinese hotels. Bathroom could use renovation and more toilet paper. Smoking prevalent.
