I had a wonderful stay at the Linden Centre. The staff is extremely kind and helpful with anything you need and make you feel at home. SiFang Jie square, where there are many restaurants, is just down the street. The scenery from the terrace is absolutely beautiful as the Linden Centre is surrounded on three sides by farm fields and...

The Linden Centre is the best hotel I have ever been to. It is well restored and very clean. Its location is perfect, as it is extremely close to Erhai Lake and to the village (Xizhou) square. It has plenty of suggestions for activities in the hotel and around the area. The rooms are neat and spacious, in order to...

The Linden Centre has absolutely been an amazing place to stay. It offered a very good cultural experience with the most friendliest staff. Everyone was very nice. The building itself offers a very historical experience but the rooms are as clean as they can be. Every accessory and rooms are very nicely organized. The courtyard and the terrace offered such...

The Linden Centre is an excellent choice when planning a trip to rural China. Its location is strategic and provides the guests with superb accommodations. All of the rooms are very spacious and very clean! They allow more than enough space to store luggage and still move around. One of the highlights of the Centre is the Terrace, which is...

Thank you for your review. We missed you yesterday when we took the guests out to help plant the rice. During your recent stay, you watched the harvesting of garlic below our terrace. Our local villagers invited our guests down to help plant the rice seedlings. We all put on the Centre's hip-boots and waded into the fields. We also...

The Linden Centre was certainly one of the highlights of our three week adventure in China. The accommodations were lovely and the views from the terrace are some of my fondest memories. The food, wonderful; the staff, friendly and helpful; this is a place that should not be missed!

Good, restored accommodation with lovely rooms and courtyards, although it's missing the wow factor that would make it excellent. This centre definitely has a strong presence around town - it's well known by locals - and for good reason. It has a definite community feel about it and the various communal courtyards and lounge spots, of which there are many,...

Thank you for taking the time to write such an extensive review. We appreciate all your comments and agree that we are a very good destination for families. Your stay coincided with a vacation group of students from Shanghai American School. Usually we do not house these student groups in our Centre, hosting them instead in our second complex- our...

The Linden Centre, surrounded on three sides by fields, is situated in the small town of Xizhou about 40 minutes drive from Dali’s old city and the Three Pagodas area. It is worth visiting both the local market, for an authentic view of life in China outside the big cities, and the silk embroidery school, where the work is extremely...

Thank you for your comments. For future guests, I would like to clarify some of the points you mentioned. We are an American-owned company comprised of international scholars and educators, and we have laboriously collected the American WWII posters (all of which focus on the alliance between the West and China) because the US Flying Tigers were based across the...

You really don't want to miss this. We only spent 2 nights, but you could spend a lot more time here. The place was one of the few fancy private Bai homes built just after WWII that has been preserved, and it has been very tastefully updated. The rooms are spacious, the three courtyards extremely peaceful. Just go up on...

Our young family ( 2 children aged 5 and 6) had an incredible holiday experience at the Linden Centre. The property itself is visually stunning. The owners Brian and Jeanie Linden have put in a tremendous effort to restore a traditional Bai compound / courtyard house to its original glory. They have put a lot of passion into their project,...

I can still see your children dancing in the courtyards, working out with me in the exercise room, and playing pool with our staff! We truly miss them and you! You mentioned throughout your stay about how we have made this National Relic feel like a home. This may be our proudest accomplishment. China strictly protects buildings like the one...

I stayed for 2 nights and would thoroughly recommend. The owners have gone to a great effort to renovate the property which is full of wonderful antiques. There are many activities available and the guide of the local village was very informative. I had my own car and guide and this was a waste as there was no need. The...

We are sorry to hear about your cooking demo. We have since asked guests before the demo how deeply they want to be involved. Many of our guests want no more than to watch our renowned chef and understand how to prep and incorporate Yunnan's unique spices into their foods.
